concussion

Avatar n tn I hit my head 2 days ago and now I have been getting headaches, dizziness and nausea. The headache is mostly where I hit my head. While I was driving I experienced a tingling sensation through both of my arms and hands and felt weak.
Avatar f tn I don't know if it was overcrowded on one side. I was just told it was crowed and pertruding (something like that).
Avatar m tn i fell off a ladder and landed on my back hitting the back of my head on concrete causing a laceration that had to be sewed up. along with that i had a concussion. that was four days ago. since that time the back of my neck is staying stiff and swelled. also, the laceration site that was sewed up has swelled and my head is starting to hurt more. is this commonplace?
Avatar n tn I have a pretty good knot on my head still and know I had a concussion (dizziness, fatigue, nausea/vomiting and headache). Well.. today my head still hurts, but I am noticing pain in my ear as well still. That began last night. Since I do not have insurance, I am wondering if I should be concerned and seek treatment. Please advise!

1033165 tn?1309435416 My daughter who was in a bad car accident back in April was seen by a Neurologist yesterday for severe daily headaches and dizziness. They mri and head ct showed an angioma. The Neuro dr said that is not what her problem is coming from it is from a severe concussion, and she is suffering from post concussion problems and could take 3- 6 mo easily to recover from. Why does this take so long to recover from? Why was this never picked up before from the er doctors.
Avatar f tn While getting off the ski lift, my sister lost her balance , swung her arms and hit me in the face, causing me to fall to the ground and her to fall on top of me. I hit my head on the ground hard, experiencing extreme pain in the back of my head, so much so I felt like I was going to cry-which I never do. It took me a few minutes to get up, and when I did, pain exploded in the back of my head. Since then, I've been tired, angry, irritable, expirienced mood swing and headaches.
Avatar m tn s been a year since his last concussion and he is making slow progress, but progress. Still has mood swings, ADD, and sleeplessness, but has made nice gains. He went on a flight to Scottland to visit a friend and seemed fine while in Scottland, but seemed to have regressed in symptoms when he returned home. Mood swings returned significantly and his choices and behaviors reflect significant impairment of executive function ability.
Avatar f tn The pain is intermittent but when it comes it stays for days and is a bothering dull pain. If I press on the spot the pain doesn`t change but I do have a spot that is more sensitive when pressed (like a bruise would feel). I don`t have any fever, I do have sinus congestion (but there is a cold going around and i suffer from chronic sinusitis). My concussions were on top of my head and on the left side. I have trouble concentrating but that most likely is a post concussion effet.
Avatar f tn Today, I was volunteering for something and I had to stand up for hours with only a few breaks, and I got a small pain in my head/eyes and I slept for a few hours afterwards. Do I have a slight concussion? Should I go to the doctor?
Avatar m tn Again it is too early to say it is Post Concussion Syndrome. I am suffering from Post Concussion Syndrome and it is worse. Give some time to heal before you start any activities and you will be fine. Doctors didn't tell me to take rest and I returned to activities soon and on disability now. Good luck.
Avatar m tn I'm a 27 year old male and I hit the back of my head on the wall over 3 weeks ago. I hit it twice in a row out of anger, and afterward I experienced neck/head ache as well as extreme tiredness. I went to the doctor 4 days later after symptoms were still present and they said I had a concussion. They performed a CT scan and said everything was FINE! I was relieved to hear this.
Avatar m tn i dont want anyone to talk to me and im not the person to be around. my headaches start early and end late. i also expierence pain and sometimes like my head is overheating?? the years before, i used to get headaches that i would have to put pressure on my temples in order for that pain to go away. those dont come as often though, but they still pop up now and then. im trying to be as descriptive as possible.

Avatar f tn In the meantime lay low and do not do anything strenuous, use in ice pack and some type of pain reliever for your head. You could feel this way for awhile so since you did hurt your head. If nothing gets better within a week, then I would be going straight to the hospital.
Avatar n tn I was out of conscious for around 4 minutes. And now yesterday I was snowboarding and fell multiple times on my head while not wearing a helmet. My head imideatly felt pain in the same spot of where I felt the pain during my concussion in rugby. Im not sure if I lost consciousness or not during one of the falls. And now I am starting the wrestling season I dont know if i should take this season off or not?
1980327 tn?1326248976 I had a head injury Dec 23 and now I get dizzy every time I turn at night while laying down, is this a normal sign of concussion.
Avatar m tn My concussion occurred 37 days ago when I slipped and fell backwards hitting the back of my head on a turf surface. In terms of the concussion recovery, I've been working with a concussion therapist to employ the practices of slowly getting back into activities without provoking symptoms. Unfortunately, I haven't seen much progress and may even have my symptoms come on earlier. I believe that this is related to sleep and neck issues that began about 18-20 days into the recovery.
Avatar f tn I play softball in college and about 3 weeks ago i was hit in the head with a bat right above my left ear. My coach gave me a concussion test and my head was hurting pretty bad throughout the day. The next day it wasnt bothering me too bad so I didnt go to the doctor to see if i did have a concussion. Well ever since that weekend, i have pressure headaches on the right side of my head.
Avatar f tn Now I have lost the ability to grasp with my hands and have very sharp pain in my right hand and fingers and have been tested for carpal tunnel and pinched nerve, which I do not have. Xrays and Tests also proved negative for depression, lupus, MS, arthritis, and other neuro or rheumatoid diseases.
Avatar f tn The last couple days have been like the first couple days, cannot rest my head at night from the pain, taking two 650 mg Tylenols when I think of it, also seem more confused & forgetful (before major loss of sleep). The last 48 hrs. I've slept for 40 min's. I've had previous head injuries: 1 contusion, few concussion & several other serious injuries even causing amnesia (twice) for weeks.
Avatar f tn About four months back I hit my head and got a slight concussion. About two months ago I started noticing a small lump where I hit my head. The lump grew a bit bigger and a few more appeared as well. I've been getting migraines a lot and I never got them much before. The lumps don't cause pain but when I touch them I can definitly feel a lot of pressure and they are pretty hard. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn How many brain cells are lost from a hard hit to the head, for example, being hit on the head with a plastic lantern and not experiencing any severe symptoms? What is the maximum amount of brain cells that can be lost without affecting the memory or mathemtaics prowess?
Avatar n tn When my husband was discharged from the ER they gave him a paper explaining about head concussion. So we assumed he had a head concussion. He did o.k. for two days and then started being confused and disoriented again. For the most part he seems fine, but today he had another episode of confussion/disorientation and dizziness. Are this symptoms normal? Thanks for any response.
Avatar n tn Yes it does sound like a concussion. I would see your doctor right away or go to the ER to make sure there is no serious damage. They will probably do a CT scan or MRI.
Avatar f tn a few years back the same thing happened to me but i felt fine right after only a slight headache this was wen i was 12 im now 16 and have been okay although ive had migraines for awhile to and the heavy head but apart from that im fine however if it really does bother you see your doctors they can give u something to feel better.
Avatar m tn If your symptoms have recently worsened a lot, sometimes this can happen if a person who has a concussion already, then they somehow bang their head again and then symptoms can worsen. I hope your symptoms are not related to hitting your head, rather perhaps you've got something else less serious wrong, but it just seems to me if you've had headaches ever since your fall, and plus you feel sleepy a lot, a doc has got to check you out!
