concerta

Avatar f tn After trying a few medications, his doctor chose Concerta as his daily medicine. It seemed to help a little with his so called "hyper" behavior. However, the doctor has increased the dosage a few times and my son is now taking 54mg.
Avatar f tn The opacities can be caused by chronic infections like tuberculosis, sarcoidosis and due to occupational lung diseases like silicosis, asbestosis etc. Tuberculosis can produce typical changes in X rays and typically affects the upper lobes. This further correlated with blood tests, which show a raised ESR and lymphocytes. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I checked his eyes this morning before he took his Concerta pill and his eyes were still dialated, but not as badly as after he takes the Concerta. Should I take him to an eye doctor or should I discuss this with his psychiatist (who prescribes his Concerta) first?
Avatar n tn Yes i'm on Concerta, which is for the ADHD i have, and it's a stimulant. I take 72 mg. of it. I don;t know whether it's that that's messing with my heart rate, or something else, but it'll take long to recover after exercise, it'll start racing sometimes when i'm sitting and a lot when i'm standing. Last night, i was leaning against the counter and i felt nauseous all of a sudden, short of breath, dizzy, and my heart was beating funny.
Avatar f tn which is the best med for adhd and odd together, zoloft and concerta or straterra and is their something organic that can work?

Avatar m tn The 9 days test was done as a annual check with my OB/GYN. The PCR was done by Occupational Health per my request to relief my anxiety, the same with the 4 week test. Their protocol is 6 week, 3 months and 6 months which they will continue to provide for me to help with my anxiety. Again Thank you for your time and understanding.
Avatar n tn m not sure which country you are working in but in the UK and US there will be an occupational health unit that can advise you. Otherwise you can take the HIV DUO test at 28 days and be assured of a negative result.
1575110 tn?1334664635 Hello, I also have adult ADD and I have tried both Concerta and Vyvanse. My doctor wanted me to try Concerta for a few weeks and I didn't like it at all. It didn't agree with me. It made it feel depressed and NOT motivated to do everyday things. I was on a 36 mg dose and when I went back to my doctor I told him I hated it. He mentioned that there is a new medication called Vyvanse and asked if I would like to try it. With nothing to lose, I said yes. I do like Vyvanse.
Avatar m tn Like I mentioned earlier I am on my almost 3rd week of taking concerta and i hate it. I still don’t know if I am adhd but I am having the same problems as I did with the vyvanse. Severe headache and pain in between my shoulder blades. I have had a full cardio workout and I am 44 in good health and have no other problems than Hashimotos which I am not yet taking meds for when this is all over. Can someone please help??
11352669 tn?1417486501 Thanks for the info. Would be surprised if it was the Concerta since you have been on it so long. Though you might want to try the high protein breakfast and see if you notice a difference (lots of protein drinks out there) in how the meds work for you. I mentioned the eyes, because I had a problem where if I got a sudden bright light, I got some serious flashes, etc going on. My eye doc suggested I take a supplement with Lutein and Zeaxanthin in it.
Avatar m tn Im a 16 yearold male that plays a ton of sports and works out a lot but I'm never hungry! Its really weird all my buddies eat a ton of food after our games and in general there always hungry! I'm 6 feet tall and weigh 160 pounds. I am starting to feel weak because I don't eat. Is it normal for me to feel like this? I'm currently on 105mg of concerta. Could the concerta be doing it to me?
Avatar m tn In Abu dhabi,UAE the medical test for visa is done in every two years which includes HIV test also. Apart from that there is Occupational health screening for food handlers and restsurants which is done every year(periodically) in al madina occupational health centre which includes blood test also. My question is does this medical include HIV test?
Avatar f tn I can see being on V and perhaps adderall in the late after noon. Or concerta and ritalin in the late afternoon. Since the Concerta/ritalin are the same type of meds. Same thing for Vyvannse and Adderall. Point being, why was the V not working for you? What symptoms did you have. I would think that the two could have been over dosing you. Did you ever try just V alone?
Avatar f tn You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV.
470168 tn?1237471245 I have a query regarding provision of Occupational Therapy in the USA. I want to compare it with provision in the UK. In the UK provision is divided between Health and Education. Education do not have any Occupational Therapist Department as they say "it is not essential to learning". As any mother with an autistic child with sensory differences knows sensory stuff has a huge impact and does make it hard for them to access learning in a school environment.
16613731 tn?1449676204 Assuming I read your description correctly, you are still taking Concerta, right? If that's the case then be advised that Concerta, like all stimulants, has the side effect of hair loss(http://www.drugs.com/sfx/concerta-side-effects.html). It's likely that most doctors won't mention this, because it isn't a very prevalent side effect.
1768088 tn?1409087815 Started treating right before she turned 5. She has been on Concerta since she was 5. Started at 18 mg and ever so often had to increase. She's been on 54 mg a day for at least the past 3 years or so. Well lately we noticed It's not working as well as it once was. She also takes Focalin 10 mg in the afternoon when needed. The concerta is wearing off in 5-6 hrs and when she takes the focalin in the pm u can't even tell she's taken anything.
Avatar f tn Concerta does not cause the enlarged heart, but definitely increases the heart rate and causes other chest pains, so cardiovascular monitoring is a MUST with all the ADHD-drug taking children. My son has a 5-6 mm hole in his heart and we get Eco every year, just because he is taking Concerta. So far, we were lucky and did not have to suspend taking it. If they say it - keep him off of it. I am sorry to say that.
Avatar n tn I just started taking Concerta (36 mg) and I immediately developed shingles. My doctor swears it's a coincidence, but after seeing your post I can't help but wonder. I had chicken pox as a child, but I've never had shingles before now. What happened in your case? I went to the doctor today and got neurontin and valtrex, but the doctor told me to keep taking the Concerta. I don't know what to do.
Avatar m tn The acquired immunodeficiency syndrome has become one of the greatest problems of public health worldwide. The occupational exposure is common in the clinical settings and represents an important risk for health care personnel. The estimated risk of contamination through percutaneous injuries involving HIV-contaminated sharp objects is 0,32%.
