Honestly, I think concerta is a way safer drug for CHILDREN in general who do not have reactions to concerta (and reactions to concerta are very rare). I would not make the same statement about adults... probably both are safe for adults (and reactions are rare). But for CHILDREN, concerta is probably the safer of the two UNLESS these sudden auditory hallucinations really are a result of the concerta and not a result of something weird that happened at a new "church"...

my child only takes one 36mg concerta tablets of a morning and lasts all day the recommended dosage is 1mg per kilogram the dosage you have stated there your child must weigh roughly 72kilograms???????? whick i doubt. that dosage worries me. Its not a easy road.

My daughter has been on concerta for 3 yrs now and she has facial tics. We took her off now and its been about 4 days, they seem to have gone away except once in away in awhile I see one but mostly 3\4 or more are gone. So I would like to know if they were becuse of the concerta and not touretts.

I was diagnosed with ADHD (to add to my list of other mental health issues) at the age of 21 and was put on Concerta as treatment. Well, three years has passed and my dosage has increased to 108 mg/morning. At 72 mg I started developping speech problems and then they worsened at 90 mg. It was so bad, that ny doctor reduced my dose but later on he decided to increase it back up as I was having a lot of struggles.

If he is getting mad at his sister under Cocerta and was not before Concerta, maybe the dosage is too high. Talk to his doctor about decreasing it or changing to another medicine such as Metadate CD.

Interesting, I can find no mention of a 32mg dose of concerta. Is he on a 36 mg dose? if he is, "The maximum dosage of Concerta should not be greater than 0.9 mg per pound of body weight." fish oil is certainly something worth trying. There are ones out there developed specifically for kids (chewable, etc), and they will have the suggested dosage on the bottle. I really can't see any reason that primrose (I assume the oil) would be worth your money.

I have a 5 year old daughter who has recently been "kicked out" of pre-school for aggression. My husband & I have taken her to therapy and we are now trying medication (Concerta 36mg). Nothing seems to be working and the aggression is worsening. I love my baby girl and it is breaking my heart to see her so unhappy all the time. Im a 16 yearold male that plays a ton of sports and works out a lot but I'm never hungry! Its really weird all my buddies eat a ton of food after our games and in general there always hungry! ive been on concerta since i was 10, when they were figuring out the dosage, this would happen to me when the dose was too high. so they lowered the dose and ive been on the same dosage for almost 12 years now. so my suggestion is to lower the dosage if possible. though youll notice side effects the first couple of weeks as the body gets used to the meds. so even if you switch meds you may notice side effects anyways.

I started taking concerta 8 months ago and it has made ia great change in the fear I USED to have speaking in front of people . I till stutter but not near as often when speaking in front of adults .

My son has been taking Concerta xl 36mg for over a year now during school term for ADHD with no symptom until recently. He now grunt or groan and has involuntary spasm. He seemed to have lost his personality. With the loss of personality he lost his creativity. He became distant and lethargic.

Hi folks, I took Concerta for 2 weeks and gave it up because of GI issues and a lot of facial twitching in addition to still having a lot of fatigue. I stopped taking it almost a week ago but I still have a remaining eye twitch that is driving me nuts. Now I'm thinking the current twitch is likely unrelated to Concerta and may be MS related. If so, it is a new symptom for me and like most MS symptoms, I need relief. Has anyone had any success getting rid of the twitches?

s harder than anyone else in her class.Our daughter has been on concerta 36mg now for 3months, it has made a difference, she is talking better, obviously the medication is helping her thinking, DOWN is she can't get to sleep at night, did try a lower dose of Concerta first but didn't help much, the 36mg dose is what she needs, we give her melatonin to help her sleep at night, (natural medication for sleep), the melatonin helps but still hard for her to get off to sleep.

My 9 year old son has been on 18mg of Concerta for three years now and it's been great for him. Unlike Ritalin, Concerta is taken only once in the morning so it starts to wear off in time for dinner and definately on time for going to bed. The problem with Ritalin seems to be that it's a difficult come down and makes going to sleep at night very uncomfortable. Concerta has been great for my son.
