concerta

969557 tn?1314370614 My son was on concerta and adderall and they both can cause seizures. I would ask doctor to you for an egg and make sure you are not having seizures.Witch is a side effect to concerta and can not be reversed .They can only give you medicine to try and control the seizures. I wish we had never put my son on these medicines.
Avatar f tn Three weeks ago, the Psychiatrist added in Intuniv...OH MY GOSH...the Concerta and Intuniv were PERFECT....Great days at school and an amazing kid emerged...Then at the end of two weeks he developed a tic...This was so horrible...They were happening about 12 - 16 per minute. raised eyebrows, eyes rolling to back of the head, head tilt to the side and a humming sound. We called Psych. and Concerta was stopped. However a week later, the tics are still here...not as frequent...
Avatar n tn A month ago I was on antibiotics and was also about a week in to changing birth control. I was very consistent about the time I took the birth control because it was a low-hormone type. I had sex during this week mostly with a condom but the times that I didn’t my boyfriend either pulled or our put a condom on toward the end of our intercourse. The new birth control I switched two during this time provided only four sugar pills versus my old one, which provided a whole week.
Avatar f tn ve gotten slight tingling in my hands and feet, at times. Also, I have been taking birth control (Yasmin/Ocella) for over a year and have never had a problem with irregularity. However, now I'm bleeding a week before I'm supposed to and have also been having painful cramps, which is why I went on the birth control in the first place.
Avatar f tn I have PCOS, (I have never had a period and I am not on birth control) but my doctor said that I should still play it safe and use a condom because pregnancy is still possible. My boyfriend wants to have sex without a condom (he said he would pull out, but I don't trust him), and he said if he doesn't make it, I could just take those "Plan B" pills or the emergency contraceptives.
Avatar f tn ve read about extended release focalin verses extended release concerta is that focalin works faster (within 30 minutes of taking it) and is better for a child that needs the help prior to leaving for school and that type of thing. So, it is reported that it begins working fast in the morning and continues to control symptoms during the day and then tapers off at hours 10 to 12.
Avatar n tn I have a 6 year old only child with ADHD, she are in the top of he class academically, but socialy she is falling apart, by interrupting all time in the class room, not following rules, being overly loud and out on the playground more or less being a bully. At home, I have a totally different kid, quiet, likes to read, do crafts, follows rules and mines her manners.
Avatar f tn My son is twenty nine. He lives at home and is ADHD. He is prescribed Concerta. 2X 36mg.per day. He is also perscribed 2X 5 mg. ritalin per day. He took ritalin SR. during high school, but I gave him his meds every AM so he would not forget. His dose was much lower then. Since college he binges on them when he gets the prescription filled. He then crashes and sleeps for a couple of days. He can't see a problem with his behavior.
Avatar n tn I brought him back to the Dr and they put him on Concerta...we started at a low dose and now after changing the doses and given it time he is up to 54mg. and that did the trick, but once he got home from school he was out of control again. So we went back to the docs in September for a med check and I explained everything to the Dr we decided to try a low dose of Methalyn 15mg for 1 o'clock to get him through the night.
Avatar f tn I prescribed60 mg of adderall but one week I had to take left over phentermine and 10mg adderall and my focusing was great and energy and I still do take 1/3 of phentermine a day.
Avatar f tn My 9 year old son has been on 18mg of Concerta for three years now and it's been great for him. Unlike Ritalin, Concerta is taken only once in the morning so it starts to wear off in time for dinner and definately on time for going to bed. The problem with Ritalin seems to be that it's a difficult come down and makes going to sleep at night very uncomfortable. Concerta has been great for my son.
1756970 tn?1314376733 hi, concerta ,and stratara, and all the others my doc put me on didn't come close to adderall. focalin worked to but was costly. adderall leavels your brain, and lets you be yourself. the way your supose to be.
Avatar f tn was diagnosed with adhd about 2 mos ago and my doctor put me on 36mgs of concerta it seems to help with the impulse control, but I am still having an issue with my mind being in a thousand different places. I also have a seven year old son who was also diagnosed with adhd about a week ago and because of his size he is also on 36mg of concerta and it is making him calmer at home, but when I talked to his teacher today she said that she is not seeing any improvement at all.
Avatar n tn He started a weaning of the Concerta and wants it off in 3 weeks, and increased the Intuniv to 3 mg and kept Zoloft and Risperdal the same. My son has now started to have horrible motor tics again....is this common when weaning off a stimulant ? Also My son has gained at least 14 lbs in 2.
Avatar m tn I have been taking Concerta for one year. This was to counteract the fatigue and sleepiness that I had been getting from taking Paxil for depression. Though Concertat was initially effective, it gradually became more of a detriment than help. It made me very irritable, unfocused, and moody. I have worked with my doctor to gradually phase concerta out from the 72m I was taking daily.
Avatar f tn s stories. Is it possible that this twitching that I cannot control and other rather random symptoms are somehow related to the Lyme Disease, even though it's all these years later? Or, am I just having a bad reaction to one of or a combination of the drugs I take? I just hope that this twitching stops, because I have to go to work today and I'll look like a fool!
Avatar n tn We tried putting my 9 year old son (who has ADHD) on Concerta about a month ago and after about 4 days, he started frequently rolling his eyes involuntarily up and to the right. We took him off immediately, but the symptoms have persisted. I'm not sure if it was caused by the Concerta, as he'd previously been on it for a month about a year ago and did not display the eye rolling. Does anyone know if there is a correlation, and if this is something that will stop?
Avatar m tn My child was diagnoised by some doctor to have a.d.h.d. His mother started him on folcalin then concerta he has more problems now at school and cant even read he's in 2nd grade. 565294 tn?1216433315 My 9 year old son has been on Concerta for three years and the first year and a half he was very thin. Now he is the right weight for his age and height. He is on 18mg. We tried him on the 27mg but it was too much. He was thin for that period of time, but he has jumped two grade levels ahead of his class in reading and has much better impulse control. He eats a good breakfast and eats like crazy between 5pm and 9pm.
Avatar m tn having four drinks or more during any point of pregnancy greatly increases the risk of low birth weight, birth defects and fetal alcohol syndrome (even if only done once, as its impossible to tell what damage is done at which stage). prescription drugs are also not recommended and can cause similar effects but i would be far more concerned about her alcohol consumption, as it is entirely nonmedical and can cause severe damage. i would suggest support groups or even rehab if she cant stop.
Avatar f tn not to mention he thought he could hurt someone else due to anxiety caused by concerta, to now im saying enough is enough, his pediatrician says no more stimulants until he sees his psycologist and psychiatrist again to see what is happening. concerta and clonidine are now out of his system...but his ability to concentrate or sit still are back in a big way, school right now is very hard for him but with one to one support he is a bit better..
Avatar n tn I started taking concerta 8 months ago and it has made ia great change in the fear I USED to have speaking in front of people . I till stutter but not near as often when speaking in front of adults .
Avatar n tn I have an 8 year old son that can not control his bowel movements. He's always soiling in his pants and when I ask him why he says it just comes out. He's been on Concerta for a little over a year now and I'm not sure if this is what's causing the problem. Does anyone have the same problem?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with ADHD (to add to my list of other mental health issues) at the age of 21 and was put on Concerta as treatment. Well, three years has passed and my dosage has increased to 108 mg/morning. At 72 mg I started developping speech problems and then they worsened at 90 mg. It was so bad, that ny doctor reduced my dose but later on he decided to increase it back up as I was having a lot of struggles.
1768088 tn?1409087815 She decided to stop concerta and focalin and start her on Adderall XR 30 mg once daily. Psych only consults, she doesn't treat so we saw her pcp yesterday am to get rx for adderall. Took it about 930 yesterday am and she was super emotional and upset all day. Cried over literally every little thing. Then as day progressed she complained of a slight headache. I gave her a 200 mg ibuprofen. She started saying her stomach hurt and she didn't feel good.
Avatar m tn In addition I am tapering off diazepam and down to 2mg in the morning and 1 at night. Everytime I try to get off the concerta I get terrible anxiety from it. I have it to a degree while on it also. I want off but my dr who takes 3 weeks to get into anyway, won’t switch me to a med I can taper off of. I know 3 weeks is a short time compared to what most of you have been through. But can someone please tell me how long my withdrawals are going to last??
Avatar f tn my son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 7 things have been progressivly getting worse this last year he has been in trouble @ school all the time. he can't seem to control his mouth and is constantly going. lately the temper tamtrums have been horendous 2-4 hours at a time screaming when he doesn't get his own way and then can't understand that the bad behavior is the reason he is being punished.
558991 tn?1226060828 She is now 18 and she takes Concerta 72 mg. daily. Because of her ADHD, she has become a compulsive eater and is now very obese. Now that she is 18, she wants to try weight loss pills like Alli and Lipozene. I advised her against it, saying diet and excersise are the best options, but she has a lot of trouble loosing weight, like most of my family. I am very worried that Concerta mixed with any weight loss medications can cause problems. Are my fears rational? Thanks.
