1475202_tn?1388955435 Hi Randy, Overall, your ultrasound is very much in line with cirrhosis: "heterogenous echotexture" is consistent with cirrhotic tissue, no surprises there.' "without masses" is excellent: means no tumors or hcc, which is a risk for cirrhotics. "patent ... veins... no ascites" is all good news, means there's no blood obstruction and no fLuid build up. "coleilthiasis" just means you have gallstones...

282804_tn?1236837191 Jan, I am a medical lab technologist and work in my hospitals blood bank. I was given 3 units of blood this past summer. So now I've been on both sides of a unit of blood. There is very very little chance you will have any noticable reaction to the transfusion and a very very very tiny chance of you getting any disease from the unit itself. As a blood banker, I can say with much confidence that we take our job very seriously and do everything in our power to protect the patient.

My current meds list is : 6mg of Klonopin / day, 1 mg Xanax /day, 2.5mg of inderal and lot of vitamins (calcium, iron, D, A + centrum complete) that I have to take cause I had a gastric by-pass to loose weight 10 years ago.
390388_tn?1279639813 He may want to check your vitamin and electrolyte levels and do a CBC (complete blood count) and check your kidney and liver functions. These are all less expensive than an MRI which runs well over a thousand dollars. Good luck. Let us know how you are doing.
Avatar_m_tn If the interferon and other drugs often reduce the viral load by 98% but then the high viral count returns. WHY were the drugs NOT able to rid the last 2% of the viruses in the blood? I would think that there had to be something different about those virusis that survived the treatment. Right? And then when the virus count began to increase again then it was because those were the offspring of those surviving viruses. Right? If HCV does not mutate in the same way as does HIV then how does it?

8256587_tn?1399901106 I did take a supplement but this only raised my ferritin by 6 units from 15. Complete blood count is being done as it ought to have been done back in February. Not sure why the doctor did not chase this up. Vitamin B12 was last done in December and was 363 (180-900). Doctor did not supplement me as my result was normal. People are telling me it is not and that I am low..? Folate is being retested as in December this was recorded at 4.1 (4.6-18.

Avatar_n_tn For almost a week the only way I could get enough air was to yawn very deeply and that was extremely difficult. 5 days after the coffee, I had a complete blood panel done. My wbc count was only 4,ooo units, while everything else was completely normal. I was at the time still having trouble breathing although I was getting better. 12 years ago I had an awful 3 day athsma attack from taking an over the counter sinus medication.
Avatar_m_tn About an hour later, the site of the second surgery was bleeding and I was given two units of blood because my blood count was low. The next day I was released from the hospital after a cat scan indicated no more bleeding and the blood count was normal. All in all, I was given three blood transfusions (8 units of blood). I am healing, but feel a lump at the site and fear that I now have a hernia.

1367276_tn?1278805412 I was just started on insulin 3 days ago. The doctor had me take 5 units of novolog 3 times a day with 1 unit for every 50 points above 150, and then I take 15 units of Lantus at bedtime. For the past 3 days I have been checking my levels 6 to 7 times a day and they have been between 167 and 297 and I can't seem to get them below. What can I do without taking more insulin?
Avatar_n_tn But I have been loosing a lot of blood, and they are not able to find out where it is going. I need 2 units of blood, but I don't think that, that was enough. My blood count is still only at 11.3, and that's way to low for a man. I originally went in the hospital with chest pains, Had my 12th. Cardiac Catherization while in, just to check things out. But the Dr. said that you can get chest pains if your blood count and leavel are down to low. Had both upper & lower GI's done also.

Avatar_m_tn What does the white blood cell count and lymphocyte count look like? Why don't you give me the complete blood count if you have that. I think you/ this person needs to have the biopsy and needs to follow up with this. But I will be glad to look at any lab results.

Avatar_m_tn Both my WBC count and protein count were "high" I just don't know the numbers. I would have to call. procaine penicillin G, 2.4 million units daily, along with the probenecid is my current treatment. After the failed dx from the three doctors I had my pcp set up the treatments, but looking for another physician as my old pcp didn't initially take my symptoms condition with much seriousness.
