However even if you get blood in the stool and then stomach pain it is much more likely something else besides colon cancer. There are intermediate grounds between gas pains and colon cancer like chrons disease, ulcerative colitis, IBD, etc.

the prior months were consistent with weekly rectal bleeding. i had a LOT of gas and constipation this november. My mother finally put her foot down and told me to visit health services at my school. I did, they diagnosed an external hemorrhoid, took urine and blood tests that came back normal, and a general xray of my abdomin. The x-ray showed I had EXTREME blockage of my intestine full of stool. :( eww.
My doctor did a quick internal and said is was my colon and that there was a moveable (bump?) and it was because of gas. I find this hard to agree with as I have not other symptoms of gas, and it has not gone away. Last year after many procedures and tests and as a lack of no other ideas, the doctor said I probably have IBS. (I did not have lower right pelvic pain at the time).
Hi! Pain and discomfort on the lower left side of abdomen just below and to the left of navel can be due to several causes such as Crohn’s disease, colitis, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, adhesions, polycystic ovary in females, IBS, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle. Since you do not have a lump or a tender hot spot, in all probability it is not a muscle.
I have been suffering from abdominal pain, bloating, gas for approx. 3 wks. At times, pain travels to my lower back. Also sharp pain when I press on my right side about 1 inch from the navel. A bit constipated but no diarreah, bloody stools, fever, nor weight loss. Had flex sigmoidoscopy 2 years ago - normal. Dr. scheduled me for U/S. I believe (and hope) it may be IBS/IBD and hoping its not related to any colon issue. Appendicitis? Any thoughts?
On occasion (typically once every month or two) I have colon pain I will describe as cramping or shooting pain. It last from 15 to 30 minutes. I am very pain tolerate but this just about kills me. I feels like I have to have a bowel movement but when i sit on the toilet the spreading of my legs easess the pain some and I may or may not extract a small amount of gas. After a short time it goes away.
(for last 3 months). 178cm tall, 70 kg. Last 6 weeks have dull to sharp pain, sometimes pulsating, around sigmoid colon area (left, below naval, very specifically located). Muscle pain also around left hip area. Rumbling stomach. Often thin stools, no blood, some occasional diarrhea. Blood work normal. Ultrasound showed nothing unusual. I'm having a CT scan this week. What are the likely causes of this? I have no history of colon cancer in my family.

Last December I began to suffer with lower left abdominal pain and gas pains. I went to a number of doctors, done some blood tests, x-rays and ultra sound. All the doctors agreed on one thing, IBS.
I do have tachycardia, Pvcs and one history of Atrial Fib in 2001.I have had constipation, and pain above the belly button that comes and go at times produce swelling and discomfort.I have had constipation for about 3 months now consistantly.I cant take anything with a stimulant due to the tachycardia. At times will get this pain above my stomach which causes swelling and to the point I have to lie down to get any relief.
I got the results yesterday. a perforated colon and divertialitis. The pain when away about a week ago and he said the body healed itself. When I asked what he was going to do for treatment, he said wait for the pain to come back and we'll take it from there. I never want to experience that kind of pain ever again. I think something should be done before this happens again. Any opinions anyone?
Now today, the discomfort in my upper abdomen and the upper GI gas is worse than usual. Again, the pain isnt severe or sharp. It feels some what broad. Sometimes in direct center of my upper abdomen, sometimes a bit left or right or across the entire area. Right now, its direct center and a bit more intense than it has been. and it's usually worse after I eat or try to have a bowel movent. Now for a brief history: 10 years ago I had a battle with non-hodgkins lymphoma.
He prescribed Linzess which appears to be some what working though still have major cramps and pain, there is gas however it is not gas pain that hurts, I was also told that I have IBS. Anyone that has theses issues knows the pain that comes with it, I am wondering at what point is surgery to redact or what not the colon is approved. I understand that there would be the runs but I personally would prefer that then this constant persistent pain.
Had good results but this morning I woke up with a sharp pain and swelling in the upper part of my stomach under my right breast. Could this be a gas pocket?

Hi, I've had abdoment pain and lot of gas for about 2 month, the pain appear in upper abdoment as a result I was thinking that there may be some problem with my stomach. I went to see my doctor, and had a list of test performed (Blood test, Occult blood test and endoscopy of the stomach), all of them are normal. Now, I start to think about whether the problem is with my colon, especially colon cancer. I have diarrhea 2 to 3 times during this period and they usually last for 2 to 3 days.
I have been suffering with bloating, abdominal pain, gas, stomach aces, and constipation for about 4 years. I have been to 2 different GI doctors and my recent one is the one that diagnosed me. My question is does anyone have a solution for the pain? I can deal with the bloating but the stomach pains are becoming unbearable. My doctor prescribed me some medication but it was not covered by my insurance. This issue is really starting to interfere with my daily activities such as work.
I avoided spicy foods and food that causes gas. I took Gas-Ex from time to time when the gas pain was severe. I took Pepto Bismol when I had diarrhea and cramping. I also took over the counter acid reducers for heartburn. My recommendation is to ask for a referral right away to a gynecologist and find out what other tests should be completed to further evaluate and treat the cyst.
they found a large mass which they said seems to be in my Nymph Nodes near my Descending Colon, They have ordered a CT Scan and a Colonoscopy. I have had symptoms such as gas, bloating, vomiting, weight loss, (40 + pounds) severe pain in the area where the mass was found, night sweats, constapation, never feeling that I have emptied my bowels. Could this be colon cancer? I had a Colonoscopy about 7 yrs. ago and Polups had been removed but were non cancerous.
Common symptoms include abdominal cramping or pain, bloating and gassiness, and altered bowel habits(alternate constipation and loose stools). Irritable bowel syndrome can be a very difficult diagnosis to make. IBS is called a diagnosis of exclusion, which means that a doctor considers many other alternatives first, perhaps performing tests to rule out other problems.
Colon sensitive to touch and pressure • Feels hard and inflamed • Pain and “hardness” alternates from side to side (not the same everytime) • No uncomfortable intestinal bloating that I can feel or see • No excessive gas • Never had cramps or spasms • Constipation but manages it with fibre and aloe fibre bitters • Am on anti-depressants and mood stabilizers to manage stress and anxiety (am Bi-Polar type 2 but coping very well) • I drink lots of water and green tea, use extra fibre (pshylliu
Of course the constant wiping irritates my anus and causes bleeding, itching, throbbing and pain. This event sets the corse for the day. I have 3 to 5 bowel movements throughout the day, and each one is thinner and narrower, and more painful afterward. I've tried PROCTOSOL HC 2.5% Cream to no avail, and now just Petroleum Jelly to no avail. What do you suggest that I do? My Doctor doesn't seem to want to go any further than ointments.
Every month during your menses, the endometrium, that's loose in your abdomen and attached else where, bleeds as well and causes pain and irritation on it's attachment sites and sheds, which inevitably spreds it to other places. Endo *****, and it's evil all around and if it where a person, I'd cut them deep. lol. I hope this info helps. Hope you find out the issue and it gets fixed quickly.
Finally after having a less than pleasant confrontation with the surgeon he agreed to do a exploretary lap and found the right side of her colon to be twisted, streched and wrapped around the hypatic gland. They removed the right side but of course not without conflict. As a result she aquired a large hematoma and I need to add she is on he 4th period or discharge in 6 weeks this last looks brownish or deep purple.
I am now 24yrs old and i just had a (very) bloody stool. I've never experienced abdominal pain but i have been having excessive gas. I've never had another colonoscopy performed and am worried that now that there is blood it may be too late. Does this mean cancer? P.S. I don't have health insurance so any infromation on that will be helpful.
