Common Questions and Answers about Cold fusion updates

cold

Avatar f tn I had a neck fusion in Oct. 2007 as my legs were giving out. I have been left with a right hand that feels like ice on the inside all the time and tingles all the time. Now the top of my right foot is cold for no reason. Just started this week, what should I do?
Avatar m tn fusion was from T11 to sacrum. It feels like there is a "slab" covering the fused area out to 3 inches either side of the spine. It is not painful. I have lower back pain, mild 24////7. It intensifies to major pain if I stand for more than 5 - 10 minutes. It intensifies with any activity involving any lifting, turning stooping etc. I am able to walk with a cane 1//2 mile, 1////4 mile without. I use a treadmill for longer exercise, but must support myself wiht the arms.
1663373 tn?1333635989 It is hard to believe it has been this long. I have occipital neuralgia which was a result of the surgery and am slowing dealing with this issue now. If it wasn't for the ON I would almost be back to normal. I have lingering tingling but very tolerable and my stamina and energy have improved a lot. Thank you all for being here during my low times and praying relief and strength for all!
Avatar m tn I'm so sorry your having a difficult time with your fusion. Did they use a cadaver or your own bone? I just had my C5-C6 fused 7 weeks ago and I'm still in extreme pain. They did use my own bone right from another part of my spine and the bone has started to fuse already. I had an epidural shot yesterday in hopes to reduce this unbearable pain. The epidural shot is eaiser to handle then the nerve blocks. I think it's worth a try.
Avatar n tn Nerve Damage, it may be permanent. It can result in chronic pain some numbness and weakness. Pain may persistent as not all operations are successful. Some can actually make the pain and situation worse. Hardware can break, if screws used for fixation of the fusion do not work, hardware removal and an additional surgery may be required. The screws may have been placed incorrectly without the surgeon even knowing it during surgery.
957463 tn?1246713297 I think I am so scared because I just had the fusion in January of this year so the fusion isnt even complete as of yet so im also worried about how invasive it will have to be based on that fact..
Avatar n tn I am afraid that she may still be growing and may develop further slip, and require a fusion at another date. Has anyone any children who have had this surgery? I don't understand why the radiologist said it is one thing and the doctor another. Any advice?
Avatar f tn the treatment of listhesis is fixation and not fusion (fusion is the oldest naming maybe still used by some radiologist), SURE your vertebra are fused even if you still have some heaviness in the lower parts of your back.. this is suffucient to have screws at place to say thatthe patient is fused.
Avatar f tn no leaks, no problems with the chiari surgery at all. In 2005 I went back to Milwaukee for cervical fusion,i have spinal stenosis also. In fact, I will have to have one more surgery before it's all said and done (another fusion) for another cord compression at a different level. Dr. H will of course do that one too. I think it's a good idea to tell him about your sister's experience with the patch.
Avatar n tn I had a lumbar fusion with screws 1 yr ago. Recently I have experienced some pressure where the screws are and the other day my wife she said I was bruised in the same area as my pain. My question is, since I have not bumped into anything, is if the screws that are inside can cause bruising on the outside?
Avatar m tn 12 years ago my anke was fused, and over the years I began having severe pain and was determined to need a subtalar fusion. I am now 13 weeks post surgery and just had my cast removed. I now have no cast at all. It is swelling a lot and still quite a bit of pain. The doctor said I could return to normal activity as tolerated. I guess I had forgotten how painful these things could be.
Avatar n tn Had a fusion 8 years ago this month. Woke up this morning with severe neck pain and cannot turn my head left or look up. There is swelling at the base of my neck. My left side is week and there is pain in my shoulder, elbow and hand on pinky side. Nsaids and Muscle relaxant no help, and one percocet no help. I have used heat all day and it has not improved. Could it be just tortocollis or is there a chance something is messed up below my fusion?
961574 tn?1520648103 I am not receiving emails on messages sent to me and updates on the posts I am following. Please help. Thanks!

1558393 tn?1299070031 t had it yet, bit this is something I do need.....so I look forward to u giving us updates so I have an better idea what all is involved. I have had cervical stinosis since my mid 20's....and it was noted on my MRI's...the problem I have is I also have bulging disks in that same area causing a CSF obstruction....the disks shifted post op from my PFD.....so, I have to act like I haven't had my PFD yet as I can move my neck wrong and have drop attacks...
889551 tn?1416184483 Lexi hasn't had her well check yet because she had a seizure on her birthday, so we pushed it back until the 10th of this month after she visits the neurologist. Her EEG came back totally normal, and we're very grateful for that. At the follow up appointment a few days after her birthday she weighed 20 pounds and 2 ounces and was 30.5" long. She's walking now and waves "Hi" and says Hi. She babbles nonstop and is constantly on the go.
Avatar n tn Hi, for the past 6-8 months I've had a sort of damp cold sensation round my groin that came out of nowhere. I havent changed shower gel of any of my hygine habits, always wear boxer shorts and no tight fitting clothes. I'm not and never have been a person to sweat at all this is why its really getting me down, I feel damp right down to my jeans sometimes!
Avatar f tn t think she has EDS, but I'll bring it up to the neurologist during our Jan. 5 appt. I think her neck pain comes from the two bulging discs - I just wondered if other Chiarians had bad discs too, or if it's just a coincidence. I was so sorry to hear that Molly is back in surgery. I'll be checking the site for any updates.
Avatar n tn I did read that gingers, like green onion, garlic, Sichuan pepper, pepper and chili, are considered hot ingredients and harmful to people with diseases hot in nature, of which hepatitis is one. Other "hot" diseases include common cold, dysentery, psychosis, diabetes, cancer, nephritis, rheumatism, wintercough, high blood pressure, etc. As for vitamins, they need to come from vegetables/fruits, not from labs.
