así lo hice por dos semanas..... hasta que ya estaba cortando la mitad de la pastilla en dos ,o sea de 1pastilla hacia 4 pedacitos... y con eso me clamaba los síntomas hasta que estaba usando 2pedacitos diarios..... es cuando empiezo a usar "Clonidine" "catapress" no sabía que esto es una pastilla mágica para los síntomas de retirada.. No bostezos no escalosfrios no ansiedad....

Question for a friend. She is going through withdrawl right now and took .1mg on clonidine this morning. It is not hleping. For those who have used clondine for help with wd, what was your dosing amount? Is .1mg a low amount? Should that be helping her at this point? Does anyone know the usually dosing amounts to help for severe wd or what the max allowable for clonidine? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

In every story i have read about Clonidine being used for withdraw, the addict was only prescribed .1mg twice or three times a day. I was prescribed 15- .1mg Clonidine every 12hrs and 15- .25mg Xanax every 6hrs as needed. It was a tremendous help as far as the anxiety goes. I'd been through withdraws MANY times, and i really feel like these were a huge help in getting me through that first week. I wish i had a few more Xanax, but i made it without. I agree with bmdad...

I am going hot and cold and getting hot flashes and really nauseous. My methadone doctor told me that clonidine will help these symptoms, I know some of you have tried it. I was wondering if I should start taking it, I am so uncomfortable. I know this is a slow and low taper, is it worth getting it?

My fiance has also been prescribed Clonidine. .1mg in the AM. I think this is too little amount for him. He's everybit of 230LBS but he says it's really working. My problem is that it's been a week and a half, and I havn't seen ANY withdrawl. Yet he's supposed to ONLY be taking the Clonidine. Since you take it, you know more. Do you think in my case there is still some pill poppin going on that's he's hiding?

My doctor tried all the drugs you see on TV and in the end I am taking 10mg oxy 3 times a day and .1mg of clonidine 4 times a day. I have tried going a day only taking one of the drugs but only get relief by taking both. While still being on oxy is not the best I did reduce my intake. I was on 30mg oxy 4 to 5 times a day at my highest dose.

The normal dosing of clonidine are 0 .1mg as a standard beginning dose. Thats what I was given. Instruction were that I could take "up to three" at bedtime but to never exceed that amount. Partly due to see how an individual adjusts to the med once they start taking it as best I can remember from what my doctor said. I then asked if this would conflict with my regular BP (metoprolol 50mg) medicine I take once a day to which my doctor said it would not be a problem..

I took clonidine while going through Subutex W/D. It really did help with the chills and aches . You won't have to worry about tapering at .1mg. That is a very small dose, and you have been on it such a short time.

i take clonidine, more than i'm supposed to though. when i wake up, i take one .1mg, then throughout the day i take a half .1mg/ twice. at bedtime, i take two .1mg and pass out within 20 minutes, but i usually wake a few hours later sweating like a pig. also, stopping is tricky, once i ran out and my bp shot up very high, shaking like a leaf and real sick. you need to taper when you stop taking clonidine.. hope this helps..

t have done it without the clonidine. .1mg twice per day (right when you get up and right when you go to bed). It keeps your heart rate down, blood pressure down, and prevents most of the stomach cramps and I didn't have ANY RLS at all. It also causes constipation, which helps with the diaherria. Tried to quit twice before without it and couldn't do it. I would taper down as low as you can and start the clonidine as part of the taper...

How often can you take .1mg of clonidine when you are withdrawing from methadone, saftly?

Yes Clonidine does help some. Also check out the Thomas Recipe for vitamins and supplements that will help too. And Larrys Recipe too. But don't take the xanax etc as that will just cause more problems.

Norvasc 10 mg 1 x day was prescribed to take instead of Clonidine .1mg 2 x day. However, the Norvasc is not working after 12 hrs. My B/P is 150/113 12 hrs after taking the norvasc. Can I take a clonidine .1 mg along with the norvasc?

s but only a caring doctor will give it, most would rather see you suffer....i took .1 mg of clonidine 3 times daily...worked tremendously well...if taking clonidine will help get you off your d.o.c.,...take it as your doctor has prescribed it...regardless of what you think MIGHT happen...it does help more than i can describe, i think it is a miracle drug for wd's. i took it for 10 days, then tapered for 3, it is not addictive, but you have to taper to avoid rebound high BP...

Hi Cleo. I'm in similar situation as you. I stopped hydros 5 days ago & began taking either, prescribed, clonidine .1mg, Ativan 1mg prn, or Mirapex for rls. I'm on day 5 of wd & still have some anxiety, restless legs, & insomnia, so I'm continuing to take something. It makes me nervous because I have no idea how I will ever fall asleep without taking something. I've had sleep issues long time, pain meds just helped w that some. Ughh...

so u take 1mg of clonidine+1-2mgsof klonzapin+25to50mgs of phenergren an u go to THE methadone clinic?????? wow keep that regement an u WILL NOT LIVE LONG THATS A FACT.....................

I have been taking.1mg 4 times a day for 3 months and have not had any sexual side effects.

so im now on day 5... ive been taking clonidine .1mg at 10am, 4 pm since i started and trazodone 100mg at night for sleep... anyone have experience with these? ive heard clonidine if you just stop taking it it can spike your blood pressure... and trazodone is addictive? i dunno.... anyway any comments would help.. i was gonna start today by reducing the trazodone in half and tomorrow cut back to just one clonidine a day for 3 more days... sound alright?

aminos, but I would suggest going lower than 1mg.. halfs of halfs of half. This seems to be the best way to come off suboxone w/out too many issues. Good luck.

I would stay on the clonidine. My doctor said to stay on it at .1mg three times a day for the first two weeks after you taper to a new level, or quit. Then go down to .1mg twice per day for a week, then .1mg once per day for a week and then quit. The directions that come with it say you shouldn't stop it abruptly, and my doctor and pharmacist told me the same thing. Otherwise, your body goes the opposite direction and causes higher blood pressure and symptoms you are describing.

Before I stopped taking everything recently from Oxycodone 30mg 5x a day, Xanax went from 2mg twice a day to 1mg twice a day also Dr changed me from Ambien to i believe its called Restoril because of all the issues going on with Ambien and finally Celexa 40mg once a day at bed that the Dr thought I needed but I believe my depression results from everything following my friggen accident! After 2-3 days I was so sick and my wife could see it I didn't hesitate going to the ER.

m thinking the dry mouth is better than the anxiety! Have any of you used clonidine (.1mg), and when did you start and stop taking it through your withdrawls? Also, will help the anxiety? I would think if my blood pressure goes down and heart rate, it would have a calming effect. I take 10mg a day of Lexapro for anxiety (have for a few years). Have had no anxiety when on Lexapro...except for now as I go through lortab withdrawals...

Finally fell asleep for the first time since Thurs for about 3 hours in early a.m. on Monday, When I woke up, the back pain was terrible, but the WD had almost disappeared....only minor leg cramping...Not the all over terrible deep bone pain of wd. i then went to my primary doctor, who wrote me a script for methadone 40mgs a day (having my sister give me my daily dose), and clonidine .1mg (1 in morning, 1 in the evening). here's the question: i'm two days in and i feel like dog doodoo. the doctor didn't really know how to handle this, she was more worried about losing her license for prescribing the methadone in the first place.

I went to the doc hoping he would put me back on subutex as I had no side effects from that the first 3 days-he said you should not be on subutex long term and gave me a clonidine patch that lasts 7 days. I really thought he would change the meds or change the dose. Anyway its probably best that I stay at a low dose anyway so its easier to get off later. If anyone has any info about this combo please let me know.

Then this morning I talked to my current Dr to help me make it till this appt, to my surprise he told me just to take my clonidine .1mg which I have been taking for 3 times a day for 2 yrs already. and now I am taking another BP med on top of that which is Labetalol 50Mg a day. sorry for bitching just seems like the clonidine is not doing anything at all My legs, I sweat bad, Hot then Cold and I just F-ing hurtso bad...
