Avatar f tn My guess would be that if the anaesthetic was administered by a dental surgeon, and not an anaesthesiologist, then that by itself could be the root of your issue. His/her training and experience in anaesthesia as a dental surgeon is limited. Secondary to that, would be an overlooked drug interaction. Go to the drug interaction online checker and check any possible interactions between the ketamine or whatever was used for your anaesthesia and you regular meds, one by one.
Avatar f tn After injecting me once he put the same needle in the anaesthesia multidose vial and injected me again. He might have done it with other patients too. So is there any chance that he contaminated the anaesthesia bottle with hiv or other dangerous virus.. Am I at risk of hiv contamination from used needle or used anaesthesia.
7913733 tn?1407585433 My husband sister had c section this day with spinal anaesthesia but she felt pain of cutting She drinks coffee too much I think this the cause am I right or there may be another cause?
Avatar n tn CSF leak (spinal) headaches usually start sooner after the procedure and yours sound like they're quite long after.
Avatar m tn Dentists asked us parents to choose between sedation (3 -4 sessions on the clinic setting) or general anaesthesia (in 1 sitting at the OR); Either one we are nervous for our son. Any opinion on which one will work better for him and for us? Any points about local anaesthesia? Can his body tolerate the general one?
Avatar n tn I am little scared of this surgical procedure anaesthesia and all that.. as all my tests are normal is this test is really required? Is it safe?
Avatar n tn The medications used to induce anesthesia in general do not trigger seizures in most people, but some medications have been implicated rarely. In patients with seizures on antiepileptics, not taking medications prior to surgery, or the effects of anesthetics on the seizure medications can also lead to seizures. The stresses of surgery could bring out seizures in someone with a predisposition to seizures.
Avatar n tn 2 weeks ago I had 8 teeth prepared for veneers under general anaesthesia for 4 hours. Several days ago I noticed a feeling of facial numbness including neck and ears similar to coming out of a typical local dental injection. It's very uncomfortable. Is it from the dental procedure - and is there something my dentist can do about it.
Avatar f tn I had a thyroidectomy. It depends on which kind of anaesthetic they wud use. If it's general anaesthesia then yes, you will get a breathing tube. But it wont hurt. You wont see it go in and you wont see it come out. I was completely out before they did those, but they explained to me that they were going to put a tube in to help me breathe because your body stops breathing on its own with general anaesthesia.
218177 tn?1240140219 I was told that these changes are OK as long as you have the sensation in BOTH legs. If you feel numbness/swelling in only one leg then it's a problem. Congrats on your new arrival!
Avatar n tn feeling on my left toe right after surgery I had a couple of weeks ago (nothing relating the the spine) I have no idea how this happened, all I know is that I had no such problem before the anaesthesia and operation, but woke up having it. I could not have developed gout or diabetes within the five hours of the operation, for sure, and it is definitely not a case of tight shoes. Help, please!!!
Avatar m tn I took Clonidine for several days during detox. It really did make a difference in helping with my withdrawl symptoms. Helped to keep me calmer and in my skin. I also had a few tranzene that I took ( I cut them in halves ) . These two things along with the Immodium and otc pain meds were a hugh help for me.
Avatar f tn Be careful not to think more is better because you will just drop your blood pressure and end up in the ER or worse. Clonidine is a blood pressure medication but is known to ease WD in very small dosages. Ok if prescribed by your doctor. I like patch better because you will not try to take more to make you feel better, Good luck..
10047460 tn?1407438406 Wow Jeni I'm not sure. The only time I took Clonidine was for my high blood pressure. I've heard that Clonidine helps with a lot of symptoms of withdrawal including cravings. My doctor gave me Zofran 8 mg for nausea. It worked really well. Sorry I can't be of more help. Hang on for a while.
Avatar f tn My doc sent it in to the pharmacy to help with the WDs I am now having. I am reluctant to dd in any other pills, but I need some relief. Any experience with this drug? Side effects? Does it actually do anything? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have info on Clonidine? My daughter is in Medical detox and they are giving her this during her detox. I'm just wondering if it is another addictive drug or if it is just an aid in the detoxification. I would assume they wouln't give her something addictive but you never know.
Avatar f tn Way to go day ten!!! Clonidine does help so much during detoxing. I am glad you got in to your doctor quickly. I am happy to hear your not crying as much. Your on the downside of this now. In a few days this will all be over. Have a beautiful Sunday.........
656243 tn?1231288052 It all makes sense but I think one thing we should be careful of here is when we use the term "doctor". Some people feel more comfortable referring to a psychiatrist as a doctor and a psychiatrist is of course a medical professional but some people don't have good health insurance and a standard physician prescribes their psychiatric medications which is not advisable.
Avatar f tn I am going hot and cold and getting hot flashes and really nauseous. My methadone doctor told me that clonidine will help these symptoms, I know some of you have tried it. I was wondering if I should start taking it, I am so uncomfortable. I know this is a slow and low taper, is it worth getting it?
198154 tn?1337787265 s but only a caring doctor will give it, most would rather see you suffer....i took .1 mg of clonidine 3 times daily...worked tremendously well...if taking clonidine will help get you off your d.o.c.,...take it as your doctor has prescribed it...regardless of what you think MIGHT happen...it does help more than i can describe, i think it is a miracle drug for wd's. i took it for 10 days, then tapered for 3, it is not addictive, but you have to taper to avoid rebound high BP...
Avatar f tn in the morning so did not stay on it...neurontine would help wds in many ways///and it is a safe drug...clonidine is not truly addictive in the sense we speak of...but a drug that can cause emergency situations..... Ur total oxy dose was 110 mgs daily...again..low BP is a concern with the clonidine and patches can not be controlled as they continually release/pill form can be more easily controlled as u can skip a dose if ur BP is low.....this is sumpin u need to refer to ur dr...
Avatar m tn Clonidine definitely works but you will feel very tired at first.
Avatar n tn It is a known side effect in some people from general anaesthesia. The stomach is designed to get rid of anything it considers a foreign invader, and the gases used in anaesthesia certainly are. It can also be a sign of many other things, including constipation. Constipation is a very common thing in UK hospitals, probably because of the terrible food :) It would be easier to chew a meteorite than one of their baked potatoes.
Avatar m tn My doctor tried all the drugs you see on TV and in the end I am taking 10mg oxy 3 times a day and .1mg of clonidine 4 times a day. I have tried going a day only taking one of the drugs but only get relief by taking both. While still being on oxy is not the best I did reduce my intake. I was on 30mg oxy 4 to 5 times a day at my highest dose.
880900 tn?1467270141 WIkipedia says clonidine is good for reducing sweats and general "unease", but the patient must withdraw carefully from it too, in order to avoid rebound hypertension. Has anyone had experience with this? Did you experience the rebound hypertension after using clonidine? I'm considering asking my doctor for this drug because I'm still experiencing w/d symptoms after 2 weeks w/d. I've not slept for four days, too. Thanks for your help.
