Avatar f tn I was suppose to taper off of it but ran out cause I took too many. I was taking about 3 of the 0.3mgs three times a day.
Avatar n tn clonidine is used for many different things: high blood pressure, excessive sweating, adhd, tourettes, restless leg syndome, migranes, bad menstration, flushing related to menopause, methadoneand opiatedetox, withdrawal from alcoholand benzodiazepines/valium.clonidine by epidural injection has been used to treat cancer pain.
Avatar m tn while on methadone for 10 years I was taking a quite high dose of clonidine for excessive sweating. The doctor told me to continue on the clonidine and we would taper down on that once I was on a stable dose of suboxone. He said there are no harmful interactions between the two. But whenever I take the clonidine it feels like it is kicking me into withdrawal again. severe agitation anxiety racing heart dizziness and double vision. Whats going on please?
880900 tn?1467270141 WIkipedia says clonidine is good for reducing sweats and general "unease", but the patient must withdraw carefully from it too, in order to avoid rebound hypertension. Has anyone had experience with this? Did you experience the rebound hypertension after using clonidine? I'm considering asking my doctor for this drug because I'm still experiencing w/d symptoms after 2 weeks w/d. I've not slept for four days, too. Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn I posted this in my long long post about opioid withdrawals but no luck so I thought I would do a new thread.... I am coming off percocet 7.5\325 2 - 5 x a day and oxy 20 mg 2 - 3 x a day for the past couple years. I have a script for clonidine .1 which isn't doing much so I called my regular doc and he is going to put me on Klonopin ( Dosage unknown until I get script tomorrow). From what I can tell these are 2 totally different drugs. Has anyone used Klonopin for opioid withdrawls?
Avatar m tn I went to see my doc and he wants me to continue taking the conidine and ativan but to reduce the clonidine to .1 for two days, then 05 for a day then stop it. He advised just to take the avtivan at night until I can fall alseep on my own. He also gave me some roxicet and told me to take 3 today, 2 tomorrow and one the next day. He claims this will help me with cravings until I get into rehab where I can get something tradition for the craving...I start rehab on Monday and it lasts 5 weeks.....
Avatar f tn I had this addiction for almost 10 years. I guess I have a bad reason for stopping, not really because I want to, but because it has gotten to be too difficult jugling doctors. I never bought off the street or online. Thought about it though.
Avatar n tn Sorry wrong post- i meant to say clonidine is used in most detoxes around the country for opiates. it helps alot with the symphatic nervous system problems opiate withdrawal presents. it helps with the sweating, hot/cold flashes, blood pressure fluctuations, and insomnia.
Avatar m tn I am on the dreaded day three and feeling miserable and have yet to sleep more than two hours a day. Clonidine-if you can get a script for it helps me with the sweats a bit-it definitely curbs them.
Avatar f tn Hi Cleo. I'm in similar situation as you. I stopped hydros 5 days ago & began taking either, prescribed, clonidine .1mg, Ativan 1mg prn, or Mirapex for rls. I'm on day 5 of wd & still have some anxiety, restless legs, & insomnia, so I'm continuing to take something. It makes me nervous because I have no idea how I will ever fall asleep without taking something. I've had sleep issues long time, pain meds just helped w that some. Ughh...
203003 tn?1210855907 Clonidine works for most but toxic is right,,exercise is hard right now but it will help you sleep,,gl
Avatar f tn But overall very excited to be done with pills. My biggest issue is SWEATING. Took my son to the mall the other day, 15 degrees outside, and had to leave because I sweating so bad! Its also happening during sleep. PLEEEASE if you have any tips, fill ME IN! THX!
Avatar f tn The suggestion that something else might be going on is helpful though I only have the sweating when I am past due for the Tramadol which leads me to believe that is the culprit. It means a lot to have the support which I am going to print out as I think some in my family are wondering about my sanity!!! (LOL) Thanks so much to the others for their response. I am looking forward to being completely off most all meds.
Avatar m tn Clonidine is a must for opiate WD's. At least it was for me. I'm 18 days sober today becauase of it.
Avatar f tn anyone had experience taking clonidine for sleep issues? i have high blood pressure (and clonidine is a blood pressure med), but my doctor is mainly prescribing it for me as a SLEEP AID to try to keep me off of the benzos for sleep purposes (which have always worked so well for me!)....i'm curious about two things though.....one, how much has anyone taken strictly for sleep purposes? and two, have you had ANY problems stopping it if you want/need to?
Avatar f tn The clonidine worked wonders for my chills, sweating, heart palpitations and even my anxiety. I took it round the clock every 6 hours the first 3 days then just went to PRN after that. I think the pills are better because if your BP is too low you just don't take another pill, whereas if you have the patch on, even if you take it off you still have the long acting drug working. I didn't need much phenergan as I really didnt have a problem with nausea as much as loss of appetite.
Avatar f tn my nose is runing, i am sweating and have to go the bathroom every 20 mins. The clonidine just knocks me out cold.slept for 14 hrs last night. try to sleep thru the withdrawl i guess.
Avatar f tn Kids at school are beginning to notice and are asking her about it. I have been given a prescription for Clonidine. Has anyone tried Clonidine? Was the Clonidine successful? What side effects were seen?
Avatar f tn Last night after being in pain all day (lower back that went down my legs and feet and tingling feelings all over my body and sweating oh the sweating and freezing) I finally took a 0.1mg clonidine and was able to sleep a good 12+ hours. I woke up this morning around 10am (went to be around 7pm or earlier not sure of the time) and felt really good for about a hour and then it slowly came back it is just now getting to the untolurable stages again (it is 325pm).
401554 tn?1270213756 For the last 5 yrs I've been taken the clonidine patch for high BP, no side effects, but the PVC's are still there off and on.
Avatar f tn I have been taking clonidine for the side effects of the hot flashes, and I must say, it helps quite a bit. It also works like a sleeping pill for quite some time, and that is very short-acting. Clonidine is not the same as Klonipin, and which is a sedative. Clonidine is a high Blood pressure drug but used for a variety of other causes. (I started out with .1 mg and am now taking .2 mg) it;s very cheap also, and I thought just worth mentioning, as I have never heard this mentioned anywhere.
Avatar f tn I am taking clonidine for my Subutex withdrawal. It has definetly helped with the anxious creepy crawly feeling. It also helped with hot flashes. I wasn't given any info on not to mix it with pain meds, but you may want to call you doctor to find out. Or even a pharmacist might be able to tell. good luck!
Avatar m tn 1mg at 10am, 4 pm since i started and trazodone 100mg at night for sleep... anyone have experience with these? ive heard clonidine if you just stop taking it it can spike your blood pressure... and trazodone is addictive? i dunno.... anyway any comments would help.. i was gonna start today by reducing the trazodone in half and tomorrow cut back to just one clonidine a day for 3 more days... sound alright?
Avatar n tn Hi. She needs to do this NOW before the addiction gets any worse. I was up to around 30 or more of those 10mg a day and right now I'm in rehab. You need to get her Clonidine for the withdrawl symptoms. Thats what they give you in rehab. Its only a blood pressure medication but has be found to also relieve symptoms of opiate WD's. I'm telling you I tried to detox from the pain pills at home MANY times and failed every time. The WD's are HORRIBLE.
Avatar m tn Yes, I quit the vics (had never taken more than 10/day and that was rare) and started on the clonidine. I took it for about a month, I believe. Believe it or not, I was able to go to work the next day. Within about 2 hours of taking the first pill I began to feel better (withdrawalwise) though of course not 100%..but..I was able to go to work..fortunately mine is a desk job where I do customer service escalation stuff..but a couple times working at home I did doze off for a bit.. But..
