o.k. I've been taking zanax for about 6 mths. now,and want to get off them....I herd that clonidine wd help,but found out it doesn't...I went without them for 2 weeks on my own before,and it was the worst....i would twicth just sitting there watching tv....My husband said I shook all night in bed....Can someone please give me some advice I'm soooooo DESPERATE!!!!!!!!
Wow..he is on a lot of medication. I would be concerned about interactions too. My son took Vyvance for several months and also had a lot of eye blinking. We switched him to Focalin and the blinking stopped. Recently though he has begun having seizures...not sure if they related to either medication or if they are an independent problem. We see the neurologist tomorrow....hopefully we will find out more then.
I believe they are both similar. They are both benzos. And it wasn't clonidine? If it is clonidine, that would make more sense.
t get home until the 13th. That night I was put on nuerontin and a clonidine pill and saw my doc the next day.
She called in a clonidine patch which I couldn't get until Tuesday and told me to take the neurontin. I was in major pain with the leg problems and so on so she upped the dose of neurontin but darned if I can remember when. I am pretty loopy.
Of course she is off this next week.
I have been dizzy and so tired but don't know if it is the clonidine or neurontin or both!

The best thing I can tell you to do is to get his blood levels checked for everything and to see a Neurologist and have them do a EEG to make sure everything is normal in the brain. I say this because there are also children who are Misdiagnosed with ADD and ADHD that have Seizures because not all Seizures can be seen.
This is my second post on this forum, my question is i am now going on day 3 CT after a 15 to 20 a day 50mg tramodol habit not feeling to bad except for fatigue an major depression but after reading some of the experiences of others about seizures and so on im scared to death i do not feel that bad right now. Can anyone tell me if the worst is ahead of me because i do not have any other way to do this but cold turkey period any advice would help.
I called pain mngt dr today and they jumped my *** for quitting and told me go to er, then er dr gave me nausea med, clonidine, and more norcos. I took the nausea med and clonidine but 6 hrs later still bad. I gave in and took a Norco, feel 90% better. So what do I do? I cant do rehab, I have 4 kids and would lose my job. My pain mngt dr said they will put me on different meds to detox but those sound bad too, and what about my pain? The pain is what started this hell.
She also suffers from ADHD, which I have to say which is the worse of 2 evils! She is taking 300mg of Zonegran for the seizures and Vyvanse and intuniv for the ADHD. I was also told to give her B6 for her very very very bad mood swings which also comes with these 2 diseases. It does help! I was also told by a friend about a vitamin called 5-HTP. Does anyone know anything about this? This is a very hard thing to deal with, I wish like most parents I can take it from her.
my son takes clonidine, he has adhd and the drugs he takes to treat the adhd stop him sleeping so he takes the clonidine for that.
didnt know it could be used to help with w/d's, apparently clonidine started life as a treatment for high blood pressure but now has many uses. dont know if there are w/d's from clonidine but my sons doc told us never to take him straight of it because it would cause his blood pressure to rocket.
They will also give me clonidine for panic attacks, phenobarbital for anti seizures, IV fluids and zofran for nausea and I will be hooked up at all times to a heart monitor. Oh yeah and I also have multiple sclerosis.
Have any of you got off your meds this way.? I'm supposed to be in the hospital about a week and then ill be on AutoZone if it works for pain. Otherwise ill have to try a morphine pain pump.
Hello, yes I have been taking this combination of Vyvanse (70mg per day in the am) and Clonidine (0.2mg in the afternoon and 0.2mg at night). I highly prefer Vyvanse over adderall because I do not suffer from side effects w/Vyvanse as with the adderall. The Vyvanse is much smoother than most all other adhd drugs. I have never experienced shortness of breath while taking Vyvanse, however, I am 25 years old and 180lbs. I am also a Registered Nurse.
My son is ADHD and was having alot of trouble sleping at night and was prescribed clonidine. It had not affect on him and he continued to wake up and wander during the night. I discovered that this medication is a blood pressure medication and our pediatrician was not monitoring him while he was on this. We also have tried the melatonin and he was up to 3mg a night and it had no affect.
Ive always liked to use clonidine when I was detoxing, it did help relax me and lessen some of jittery,nervous energy. Hopefully the clonidine helps ease some of the symptoms, I would also get some immodium, some short of short term sleeping aid and lots of fluids. The vitamins and amino acids can really help with getting some energy, but thats all up to you. I wish you the best of luck, you can do this!
