chest

hi umm im 16 and of lately for like the past 6 or 7 months i have experienced chest pain in the left side of my chest. now when i say pain it hurts and its so uncomfortable. recently i was in class and it kinda felt like my heart dropped or something dropped and it was so weird. i take a health class and they say your heart rate at rest should be between 60 and 80 and mine is always almost 100 bpm. and when exercising it should be in the range of 140 to 170 mine is between 220 and 245.
Jenny - never mess with breathing always go straight to your dr. Things can turn on a dime, I've had pneumonia and allergies and waiting is never a good idea. You need to take care of yourself. Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong, at 28 breathing should never hurt. Please see your Dr. Hope to hear back that you have an appt.
Pneumonia is in some cases when left untreated a hospital stay waiting to happen. Hopefully it is just bronchitis or like you said a chest cold. Either way, I would see the doc. No reason to be more miserable than you have to be. :) Let me know how it goes.
However, the last day my chest is very tight, if i cough it restricts my chest and hurts when i cough. I have no other symptoms other than my chest wall. I am drinking hot tea with honey and have put vicks vapor rub on my chest, but it hurts to talk and especially when i cough. please help.

What I want to know is this, do any of you get chest pain when it's cold? It hurts and my wrist hurts as well. I've gone to urgent because of this just to make sure it isn't my heart and they tell my it's fibro. I don't want to go outside when it's cold. I live in CA. Thank you for answering.

as far as the pain is concerned, do you have a cold?
Many folks have a dry cough for weeks after a cold. I can't imaging how yogurt could worsen things, i think that's a coincidence. A surface pain sounds like a rib sprain from coughing. The concern is that it could infrequently be a blood clot in the lung, and you need to see a doctor to rule that out. The doctor can prescribe narcotic pain relievers strong enough to give you relief, and they also stop the cough.
Yesterday night i had a fever with about 37.8 Celsius and right now my chest hurts and the inside feels like it itches. What should I do? Is it because the infection has traveled? or the chest pain is because of the spreading infection?
I noticed that it hurts when I move around or press on it but I haven’t done anything that could have caused an injury. It also hurts when I take a deep breath, so at first I thought that the cold I had recently was coming back, but I don’t have a cough or any trouble breathing. I tried taking Advil and it helped temporarily, but then the aching came back. Should I be concerned?
Im 31 weeks pregnant and earlier all of a sudden I got severe chest pain, in my upper chest like right at the top of my boobs. Its mostly on the right side but when I breathe deep it spreads to the left side. It hurts to breathe and I feel like I cant hardly breathe. Its.eased up a little but now feels sore, even hurts to the touch. What could be causing this? Im also having severe heartburn and my son is going crazy in my ribs. Has anyone else experienced this?
He recently has experinced sharp pain under left nipple area of the chest. It hurts when he breathes in and out. No discoloration or brusing. His vitals are normal. What type muscle or upper rib cage injury couls this be and what would required healing time involved. Thank you for your advice.

When ever I hold my breath and let all the wind out of my lungs and squeeze my chest it will give me pain on and around my sternum. If I turn my head sharply I will feel pain on the right side. But what hurts me the most is when I push down on my sternum or pull an object into my sternum. Nothing shows up in xrays and the doctors just keep sending me away without telling me anything. Does anyone know what this could be? It also does hurt in my back on the right side when everything hurts.
i am 30 years old female who for the past 5 weeks has been having chest pain. It started off being tender when pressed and the dr thought it could be costochondritis. ECG blood test were fine. However few weeks later my pain has changed. It is now like a tight band or pressure and hurts when i walk, after eating, in the cold. I also get periods of being short of breath.
I have, even before becoming pregnant and it is scary, it hurts too. i just drink some cold water and lay down on my side, try to take slow breathes, and dont give yourself an anxiety attack, lol. i freak out and then my anxiety kicks in and blahh. Keep calm :) do you have a 24 hr nurse you can call?
Pleuritis and Pulmonary embolism are other possibilities causing shortness of breath with chest pain. A CT scan of the chest can rule out both. Another possibility that can explain the pain is pericarditis. It causes chest pain aggravated by laughing yawning and deep breathing and also causes radiation of pain to arms. Again an EKG, heat echo and chest X-ray is required. Do consult a doctor and get this examined. Take care!
Two days ago I had a sudden onset of severe pain in my chest ,left to the sternum.I can say the pain is some where aroud the sixth rib, near to the sternum. I can't clearly differentiate the pain, whether it is muscular or in the bone. The pain didn't go away by itself and is persistent from two days.( I was expecting it to be Precordial catch syndrome, which is relieved in few seconds to few minutes and is very common) . The pain exacerbate by over inhaling or exhaling.
wednesday, i started to get a chest pain, only on the upper right side of my chest, it hurts to breathe in deeply, and also move around...my back on the right side is also sore, im not sure if it's muscle or ribs, or something else.....do u know what it could be? anything serious? i dont have a history of heart problems, or respiratory problems, im in pretty good shape...im just concerned its something other than soreness...
I am a 40 year old female who had a mild heart attack last august 2006 I had a DES placed at that time.in october 2006 I experienced some chest discomfort between my shoulders and also in the center of my chest. my doctor admitted me and I received another DES in a smaller valve. That valve was only 40% blocked at the time the other stent was placed(August) but not blocked enough for the stent. in october the doctor did not see any other blockages so went ahead and stented the smaller blockage.
Does this sound like heart related with all tests or something else. Just another question is when I smoke my chest hurts behind the sternum.
Hello and hope you are doing well. If the chest pain occurs with movement and is relieved by Aspirin, it is unlikely to be due to a cardiac cause or angina. This can happen with injury, repetitive activity or an infection of the skin. Sometimes it can be costo-chondritis, inflammation of the sterna rib junction. If the pain is aggravated with work or exercise then it could be due to cardiac pain.
I am 26 and in relatively decent health but I have pains pretty much constantly on my left side in my chest, sometimes in my arm and jaw, my stomach hurts, I get cold sweats and this weird feeling that I can only describe as a flutter across my chest. It doesn't hurt but it scares me a lot and makes me feel like something else is wrong. my heart rate is usually pretty normal in the 60-100 range.
It started in my stomach and chest and spread up to my neck and jaw and even ears. It hurt so freaking bad I ran for the cold water and it was instant relief. I don't know how anyone could stand it without the water or I suppose anything cold to drink would work if you drank it fast. I am healthy, exercise regularly and have no medical problems of any kind. This is a mystery, but thank goodness for cold water.
Now i still hurt when I exhale but it not only hurts at the middle of my chest it feels like someone is stapping me in the ribs. Any ideas on what this could be? It also hurts to cough or sneeze, I had a cold over 2 weeks ago.
which first i lost my voice, then the next day I had coughing that hurts in my chest when I cough. I also have really bad chest pains- I took Mucinex to break up mucus- but that made me feel like I was gurgling on my mucus with each breath. I can't even lay down because I feel like I'm choking on my mucus- so I sleep sitting up . So far no fever, but slight body aches. I am taking lots of vitamins but don't know what else I can take. Does this sound like something in particular?
Oh, and if I push on my chest in the area of the pain, it hurts a little more. Let me know what it could be!
Have you had a bad cold lately with lots of coughing? If you breath in and out and it hurts most likely it's your ribs. See a chiropractic and he will put them in back in joint. Very easy manipulation and it does not hurt at all.
