chest cold chest hurts

Hi! I'm 17 years old and a few weeks ago, I started getting this sharp pain under my right breastbone when I would breathe. It's intense and during my bout of pain (usually for about a minute, though it always seems longer) it feels almost impossible for me to take a breath. It only happens from time to time but it's something I figured I shouldn't leave out. This, unfortunately, is only my first symptom as of now.

However, the last day my chest is very tight, if i cough it restricts my chest and hurts when i cough. I have no other symptoms other than my chest wall. I am drinking hot tea with honey and have put vicks vapor rub on my chest, but it hurts to talk and especially when i cough. please help.

In June of last year I had a 99% block. Had an angioplasty and a stent. I didn't have a heart attack. Now, since then when it's cold or air conditioning is on, my chest hurts and has the same feeling it did when I went to urgent care, just not that intense pain. My cardiac doctor says that it will be hard to treat me because of the fibro. What I want to know is this, do any of you get chest pain when it's cold? It hurts and my wrist hurts as well.

I have started with congestion..now I have a slight cough,but hurts my chest when I do. Is there anything you ladies can recommend in the meantime?? Thank you!!!

now with my cough and runny/stuffy nose I developed chest pain, or a chest cold. Yesterday my chest hurt really bad in the evening and when I coughed It hurt even more. Today chest still hurts when I cough but that as bad as yesterday. What can all this be?

I have this tightness in my chest i kno its mucus but i dont have a cough or cold it hurts when i try to take a deep breath ive never had chest congestion before im not coughing up blood or anything like that. ive been using my asthma pump because when i was younger i had trouble with asthma it helps clearing my airways so i can breath easier but it comes back after awhile. hi umm im 16 and of lately for like the past 6 or 7 months i have experienced chest pain in the left side of my chest. now when i say pain it hurts and its so uncomfortable. recently i was in class and it kinda felt like my heart dropped or something dropped and it was so weird. i take a health class and they say your heart rate at rest should be between 60 and 80 and mine is always almost 100 bpm. and when exercising it should be in the range of 140 to 170 mine is between 220 and 245.

Im 31 weeks pregnant and earlier all of a sudden I got severe chest pain, in my upper chest like right at the top of my boobs. Its mostly on the right side but when I breathe deep it spreads to the left side. It hurts to breathe and I feel like I cant hardly breathe. Its.eased up a little but now feels sore, even hurts to the touch. What could be causing this? Im also having severe heartburn and my son is going crazy in my ribs. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have, even before becoming pregnant and it is scary, it hurts too. i just drink some cold water and lay down on my side, try to take slow breathes, and dont give yourself an anxiety attack, lol. i freak out and then my anxiety kicks in and blahh. Keep calm :) do you have a 24 hr nurse you can call?

When ever I hold my breath and let all the wind out of my lungs and squeeze my chest it will give me pain on and around my sternum. If I turn my head sharply I will feel pain on the right side. But what hurts me the most is when I push down on my sternum or pull an object into my sternum. Nothing shows up in xrays and the doctors just keep sending me away without telling me anything. Does anyone know what this could be? It also does hurt in my back on the right side when everything hurts.

Jenny - never mess with breathing always go straight to your dr. Things can turn on a dime, I've had pneumonia and allergies and waiting is never a good idea. You need to take care of yourself. Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong, at 28 breathing should never hurt. Please see your Dr. Hope to hear back that you have an appt.

Pleuritis and Pulmonary embolism are other possibilities causing shortness of breath with chest pain. A CT scan of the chest can rule out both. Another possibility that can explain the pain is pericarditis. It causes chest pain aggravated by laughing yawning and deep breathing and also causes radiation of pain to arms. Again an EKG, heat echo and chest X-ray is required. Do consult a doctor and get this examined. Take care!

My chest has been hurting it comes and goes.. Its not a heartburn. It hurts right under my left boob . it hurts when i laugh and take deep breaths. It also hurts when i lay on my tummy and side.

Ok so I have a weird question that I'm sure some of you won't really know the answer to...last night I woke up with like a really weird chest pain. Not all over but like when I turned over or tried to move the middle of my chest (between the breast) would hurt sooo bad like I had a really sore muscle or something. I've had this before and I would just move into a different postion and it would go away and I would be fine in the morning.

Do cry or get scared it makes it worst. When I feel like my chest is getting tight I get in the cold shower or I eat sweets Lol. Oh if you plan on having a natural birth I would highly suggest you to take parent classes for breathing and try to control it now so when your in labor you have control on your heart rate. :-).

Two days ago I had a sudden onset of severe pain in my chest ,left to the sternum.I can say the pain is some where aroud the sixth rib,near to the sternum. I can't clearly differentiate the pain, whether it is muscular or in the bone. The pain didn't go away by itself and is persistent from two days.( I was expecting it to be Precordial catch syndrome, which is relieved in few seconds to few minutes and is very common) . The pain exacerbate by over inhaling or exhaling.

m not sure if I am in the right forum, but whatever. Well, ever since I swallowed this tiny pill dry, every time I swallow something solid, my chest hurts. It take about half a second for the pain to kick in and it hurts BAD if I swallowed something too big. So now the only things I can eat with minimal pain are: Beans, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Cheeto's Puffs. My parents already know and neither of us can see what a doctor could do without an expensive X-ray. Has anyone had this?

After I have been sleeping for the night and I wake up, I have chest pain in my sternum area. It hurts when I move my arms to stretch my chest. It hurts when I breath deep breaths. This happens every morning when I wake up. Should I be worried? Is this common? Any possible explanations?

It starts on the right side of my chest all the way into my sholduer and then hurts on both sides. Then it hurts on the left side of my chest. It hurts worst when I lay down but it is constant pain. It hurts for a total of 4 to 5 days and then stops. I have been tested for lung and heart problems and was told everything is fine.
