Cat sneezing after vaccination

Common Questions and Answers about Cat sneezing after vaccination

sneeze

Avatar m tn It is possible for the FIV+ cat to get symptoms of URI after vaccination. It depends on how well the immune system responds to the vaccine. Most likely, the vaccine will help limit symptoms though.
Avatar m tn When my friend adopted her cat from a shelter she was told that this cat had been treated for URI and was no longer contagious even though she continued to have trouble breathing (making noises). Then my friend adopted another cat and this second cat did not get sick although there was a time when he would not eat for a few days. Then my friend and her cats moved in with me about 2 years ago and 6 of my 7 cats got sick with URI.
Avatar f tn t be the rabies vaccination. Call the vet and get his or her advice about whether you should bring the cat in. Cats can get infections after being neutered, what kind of litter box does he have and what is in it? You want to rule out infection for sure. (I assume you are saying he is a male despite using the word "spayed," is that correct?) If he has an infection at the operation site, it needs to be handled with antibiotics and quickly.
Avatar f tn Yup I would get it. The only other option is to give them the cat so they can disect it's brain. The rabies vaccination has not had any bad side effects on pregnancy as of yet!
874521 tn?1424116797 t have to be concerned with all those unnecessary vaccines that have a greater potential for harm. It was after a routine vaccination that my previous cat started showing the first signs of IBD, so thi has already been on my mind concerning my present cat. Plus, with all I've learned about human vaccines, I'm not too keen on giving too many vaccines to my cat. I can see that there are actually MORE problems with modern vaccines than even th ones given when I was a child.

229538 tn?1300377767 HI all ! Is it normal for your kitten to be low energy after a day or two after her first vaccination ? She is eating but not as much . She plays a little and she has been sleeping a lot ! I heard this is normal but after two days ? Gums are pink , nose seems moist and not dry . Bottom line ! She seems in and out ! Your thoughts please !
Avatar m tn Hello, I have a cat who has sense the day we rescued him been sneezing and at points discharging, for a lack of better words, snot balls on the walls. We have taken him to the vet and have received a medication that did not work after completing the full bottle. I don't recall the name of this medicine. My question is, are there any over-the-counter medications that we can give this poor cat so we don't have to pay 50$ over and over again to visit the Vet.
Avatar f tn Now my cat is sneezing less...but still sneezing now and again so I am not sure what to think. She seems normal otherwise (hard to tell if she is having extra cat naps since she is a cat who snoozes). Maybe it was the cleaning products? If it is an infection, what would be the chances only she would have it and not my other cat? They both hang out together and both are indoor cats.....
Avatar n tn my cat has been sneezing continously for a week and now his eye has started watering, his nose sounds runny. He doesnt go outside. Is there something i can do to help him or do i need to go to the vet and what do you think it is?
Avatar n tn I'm not sure what she means about vaccination, unless she means a Tetanus shot. I know *countless* times. LOL!!! It's the cat bites and scratches that can really cause a problem, been down that path and knew to get myself to the ER one time and my doc the other time. I end up on antibiotics for two weeks. :-( *Stupid Me* story - some years ago, my Mom had a ferral cat in her yard she and my Dad were feeding. Told them not to do that. Well, she had kittens.
Avatar m tn We took her home in a crate (recently used by my other cat and my dog sometimes slept in there) and when we were in the car she started sneezing and one of her eyes was a little bit watery. Now that shes home she continues to sneeze often and her eye is still watery. Could something in my house be irritating her? Could she be allergic to something? Or did i adopt a sick kitten? What should i do? Thank You.
Avatar m tn Prescribed Clindamycin for a whole month. His only symptoms after a day or two back on was increased sneezing (or reverse sneezing and some snorting) He was doing incredibly well after 1/1/2 weeks on antibiotic again, but we started having problems getting it into him. Called the vet on Friday Aug 18 and her assistant suggested holding the antibiotic over the weekend. Called on Monday and couldn't talk to vet until Tuesday afternoon. She suggested giving antibiotic only every other day.
Avatar m tn My question is, if I am potentially exposed to rabies twice within a matter of weeks, do I just continue with my original rabies PEP vaccination schedule (received my 4th vaccination the day after my potential second exposure to rabies...if that makes sense) or do I need to start the whole PEP sequence over again? Will there be enough protection from the original PEP vaccinations?
Avatar n tn This morning as I was eating breakfast, his cat came up to me, and out of nowhere, bit my leg. It was a small puncture but left a visible mark. I'm worried about possibly getting tetanus. I had my last Tetanus vaccine 7 years ago. Do I need a booster?
Avatar f tn Yesterday was a very sad day because my family lost our 15 year old cat two days after he was taken to the vet and given a rabies vaccine. Be VERY careful, do your research, ask the vet what the vaccine does, if it is truly needed, and if there are dangers involved. A poster above recommended taking preventative measures before agreeing to the vaccine. I wish that we had the foresight to do this. Do not just agree to the vaccine because "doctor knows best".
