Avatar m tn I'm on zoloft and I sometimes take my moms vicodin/percocet for pain and I'm just wondering is it safe to take these combinations together? Basically: Zoloft+Vicodin= safe? Zoloft+Percocet= safe? Will the Vicodin or Percocet decrease the effects of the Zoloft? OR can it cause permanent brain damage? I took 2 Vicodin's a couple days ago and then took 1 Zoloft pill an hour later and I started to feel weird/loopy. Could I have caused permanent brain damage?

Avatar n tn m so sorry your having such a hard time with your doctor i to was given tramadol along with percs and i had to stop the tramadol i had the same reaction.
Avatar f tn My body feels achy, but I havent had the restless leg which was a night mare last november and I have yet to have diareeham, and i have slept more than i did when I quit before. I am praying that these last 40 hours are just toying with me and it will hit me all at once. I definitely feel that wierd body sensation, and am moving in slow motion, but why hasnt the real nasty stuff hit by now. I dont think I would be able to take it if it did.
Avatar f tn Vicodin/Norco/Percocet.. I was taking 20+ Vicodin a day or about 15 Norco, I rarely got percocet. I went cold turkey, my withdrawals sucked but were manageable. Day 3 is the worst, and you will feel like just taking 1 or 2 to help, DON'T. Make sure you get them out of your house/reach, cut off your avenues of getting them (Dr., Friends, etc.). You will start to feel better about Day 4, but truly by Day 5.
Avatar f tn I have finally been switched to Oxycodone IR, which contains only the opioid that is present in Percocet without the tylenol. I never take more than I am supposed to and many times I take less but I now have the peace of mind that I am not doing harm to my liver. Lastly, it is important to note that those with liver impairement should NOT be taking any Tylenol combination products. Diseases such as Hepatitis C fall into this category.
Avatar f tn I tried a few times to not take it, but when I dont I get very restless and get a bad headache. When I take it the heafache goes away within 10 to 20 mins and the restlessness goes awau too. I dont want to take pills all the time, I already have a bad liver from a previous surgery. My question is, is this a sign of addiction? What can I do to stop the feelings and the pills? Ive alreaduy weened myself down to 1 pill. Please help, I dont want to form a depency and I think I may have already.
Avatar n tn yes, percocet is a class 2 narcotic and vicodin is a class 3. Percocet is an oxycodone with tylenol, and vicodin is a hydrocodone with tylenol. If ever you need a refill you can't have a doctor call in a class 2. Both are addictive equally...
Avatar f tn I am just curious because in the past when I ran out of the Vicodin I was able to get Percocets. They helped a little better with the pain but I do recall having bowel problems and feeling like I had a mild flu. Was this a little bit of a preview of what my withdrawl is going to be like but worse? Make sense?
Avatar f tn 90% of my use was vicodin. I just had a 3 week or so relapse. I took percocet for the 3 weeks. I had worse wds from that short amount of time than I had with 2 years of vics. I'm sure it's different for everyone and I have a feeling a lot of my wds had to do with guilt....but the first 3-4 days were awful. Try to stay away from them.....
Avatar f tn Hello, I have thyroid cancer that had spread to the lymph nodes on the right side of my neck. A week ago I had surgery to remove the lymph nodes (surgery went well and I was sent home). Now I am on percocet for the pain. I have been able to reduce my doses and think I will be completely off in a couple of days. My doctor said after the surgery, I could start trying to conceive.
Avatar m tn I have tried to detox myself but I havent been successful in going more than 2 days without pulling out my hair. Can you please help me with some advice!!!! I cant stand the pain I suffer but I cant stand being addicted to this medication. I need some help and advice on where to go from here. Thank you for all and any help!!!!
1187071 tn?1279369698 I am going to be there with bells on lol If he does say to up the vicodin I will be fine with that. I think the Percocet I was on is 10/500 so I think that is stronger then the 5/500 that I have been on before and it didn't help as good. I am just looking forward to trying something that might work so I can get back to my life and it won't be all about pain. We will see.
Avatar n tn I am not good at keeping track b/c the scripts are only for 15 days while most are for a month, but anyway. I have some 5mg vicodin - can I take those to get me through until I can fill the script for the Percocet? If so, how much should I take? I realize this is a rather more conservative question than some, but I had one bad experience a couple of months ago when I ran out and I didn't take anything. I don't want to go through that again.
890900 tn?1284577303 I have rsd in both my hands...I take percocet on a daily basis, along with other meds to help my life be more tolerable. I am not addicted to it. But I depend on percocet to reduce my pain. I hope no one thinks I am addicted..I am not. I don't understand why this nonsense is being done to cp sufferers. Those who use the drugs for a legit reason should not be made to suffer for those who abuse them. I've heard they are thinking of doing the same with avinza, which I alse take.
Avatar n tn Hey there.....I don't know about percocet but I took tramadol with vicodin before. I take tramadol and my script was running out before I could get it refilled so I took the vicodin to help make what tramadol I had left, last. So, medically I think it wouldn't hurt anything to take them. You just have to be very careful with tramadol! I am in the process of trying to ween off of it and my dr.
Avatar f tn Just FYI.... I'm not trying to scare you or discourage you, I'm just going to be honest with you. I began a ling time ago taking vicodin, and after finding a pain management Dr. He switched me to oxy. Just about the amount you're taking in the beginning, although I took oxycodone/roxi 4xday, instead of percocet as you are. However, they are the same thing basically, only percs have Tylenol added, oxy's don't. My point....
1930941 tn?1400107522 I am 27 days percocet free! Yea! I also in the past was an alcholic. I didn't drink anymore until I tried to quit the percocet. Now I am 27 days free from alcohol and percs. I was taking about 8-10 percs (10-325) for about a year. Before I took Vicodin for 2 years but not abuseing it. I am very happy to be clean but I am suffering terribly from joint pain in legs and headaches. I take Advil for joint pain and if the headache is bad I take Excedrin.
599170 tn?1300973893 You're about right with the meds and their strengths. I had a cervical discectomy with fusion and really didn't need pain meds beyond about the third day post surgery. My problems started about 7 months after the surgery when it became apparent that I had developed adhesive arachnoiditis as a result of the nerves in my spine reacting badly to the dye in the myelogram before the surgery. Had I not had the myelogram, I would no longer have needed pain meds after the surgery.
Avatar m tn hello my name is tim ive been doing between 10 to 20 perk 5mg a day if i cant find perks i take vicodin ive been trying to quit for the longest i now have my mind really set on it , i quit about a year ago the withdrawls were so bad im scared to quit again but i have to can anyone give me some advice on anyway to make the withdrawls easier or if i should slowly get off or what i could do please help.
Avatar f tn I would go with the oxycodone (percocet) over the hydrocodone (vicodin), because it's possible to get the oxycodone in it's pure form in a pill without the tylenol in it. The -cet suffix on the percocet is what denotes the acetominophen or Tylenol. In the generic form, it would give the mg strength of the pill (ie, 5/500) and then say APAP on the label.
Avatar f tn Im Kicking my shoes, Theres nothing like being sober, Theres nothing like being Sober. I NEED A PLAN. I have done it once before I can do it again, but I need your help in the how much and when part as I CTd before, and would like to taper.
Avatar f tn Idk what will happen, what I do know is that you need to have someone take you to the ER, ASAP! I surely hope your ok. Sending prayers.
Avatar f tn From my pain management/spine specialist, I am currently prescribed percocet one tablet of 5-325 twice a day as needed for pain. I am also prescribed Tramadol 50 mg tablet: take one tablet daily as needed for breakthrough pain. Currently I have been taking one tablet of tramadol mid morning and one tablet of percocet at night. My question is are any of you prescribed 3 different pain medications?
Avatar n tn Okay thank you for the concern although does anyone know If I should take the vicodin, is it safe, or is there anything else take it has been only 30 hours since my surgery and I still have major pains???
