My hands look completely normal but when they get wet for a long period of time (doing dishes, going swimming, or taking a shower), thick, tender bumps form on my hands. The bumps cover my entire palm and are on both hands, I actually think they may be on my fingers too, but if so, they are very small. The bumps vary in size. Every year when we go to the beach (Jacksonville, Florida) my son develops a rash on his inner thighs. Sometimes the rash extends down his legs or onto his buttocks but rarely goes anywhere else. What I am calling a rash, is raised bumps. They itch and burn and his clothes irritate them. They are sometimes reddish, sometimes flesh colored. Since we get in both the pool and the ocean we have no idea what causes it. The pool is at a private residence and definitely cleaned well.
This morning when I woke up I noticed about a dozen small red bumps on my rear. They range from about 2 mm to 6 mm across. They do not itch and are only slightly painful as of now. Since you are showing these symptoms after entering the swimming pool,so it might be that you are allergic to chlorine or any of the contents of swimming pool. It has been reported that swimming pool water increases the predisposition to allergies and hay fever in swimmers. You can confirm that be getting yourself tested for allergies by an allergist.
As for folliculitis I dont know how I could got fungus or bacteria on my skin when I havent gone swimming or shaved or had any sort of cut. I shower daily and so I have yet to remember if anything that I did could of gave me the infection. Right now the bumps seem to be spreading towards the top side of my genitals (hair area) but not like the inner side of my thigh, just random little ones. The skin isnt tender like it was before but the itch is still there.
