For about 3-4 weeks I have had a burning and extremely itchy rash on the back of my neck, below my hairline, just above my collar. I have checked my soaps, detergents, shampoos, cosmetics, perfumes etc. and have not usd anything new or unusual. The only medication I take is Synthroid for Hypothyroidism. I can not see the back of my neck to examine it, yet my husband says that the rash looks mild and there are small red bumps visible.
I started to use the Tempur-Pedic style pillow. I get in-grown hairs only on one side of my hairline in the back. My hair already grows really fast. My right hand side of the back of my neck has plenty of in-grown hairs. Once the hair is growing, it meets with pressure and a block (pillow) per say. It does not help that my skin is already oily. This combination has caused hairs to turn back in to my skin and become in-grown.
Hi The presence of red bumps and blisters on the hairline may be a case of seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis or folliculitis. Seborrheic dermatitis may present with greasy scales that may be itchy. Psoriasis presents as white scales that may be associated with pinpoint bleeding when the scales slough off. Folliculitis presents with reddish bumps that involve the hair follicles. Fungal infections may also present similarly in some cases.
I started getting hard bumps on my scalp several years ago. The feel like really hard scabs and are painful to the touch. They are about the circumfrence of the tip of my index finger. I have picked the scab off before and it leaves a shallow hole in my scalp, but doesn't really bleed. There is some sort of clear liquid that does not smell. When the skin grows back I have a small bald spot for a bit until my hair grows back.
now i have a cluster of similar bumps (which i cannot see directly) on the back of my neck at the hairline specific to the left side. my mother looked at them and described them to me and it sounds exactly like what i saw on my legs. none of these bumps were ever itchy, just painful and sensitive.
It has been years, but I would occasionally visit the tanning salon and tan in the nude, usually covering my pubic region with a cloth. I also have a fair share of freckles on my shoulders and upper back, as well. If you need age to take into consideration, I'm 40. I've also been a bit of a serial monogamist over the years, and don't play the field, sexually. I know that doesn't necessarily mean I'm not at risk of contracting an STD, but thought I'd mention it.
Started from three days ago, I can feel that I have several redness bumps with itchy sensation spread around the scalp and majority are at occipital and temporal bone area, and two on the right and left frontal hairline. They stated from inion and back of both ears then go up. These bumps are really itchy and moderately swollen. I never had this kind symptom before. I have dandruff since I was litte until now, sometime it is seasonal. I eat unhealthy sometimes, I live outside so.
my 15 months old has two firm to hard pea sized nodules on her posterior hairline, one on each side of the nape of her neck. they r mobile and under the skin. could they be the lymph nodes?
I get a new bump about every five days, and they've started to show up along my hairline along my face. The bumps are hard masses, and the ones I had in the beginning have eventually mostly gone away. They are not itchy. I am a 22 year old Caucasian female... obviously I don't wear sunscreen on my scalp. Any idea what's going on? Thanks.
It started on the back of my neck where my hairline starts one on each side. Than I noticed on my right side I now have 3 that go up toward my ear. I have been having really bad headaches and last night I noticed 2 more one on the back of my head that hurts and a little one on the side of my head. Is it possible that it could be cancer, I read an article that it could be cancer especially if you smoke and I have been smoking for quite sometime now but I am only 27.
A couple months ago I noticed some pimple like bumps around my groin. They're not on the penis or scrotum. They're up above, around the hairline. They don't come and go, they have been there and don't go away. They don't hurt. They don't itch. They are just.... There. Some have gotten bigger, and some pop like pimples. I think I noticed the beginnings of more around the rest of the hairline. There are also tiny red spots spreading over the back of my lower legs. Could be unrelated.
I keep getting very painful blotches on my nose and bumps on the back of my neck. The bumps on the back of my neck usually are above the hairline and the back of the head. I busted one and it was filled with yellowish thick puss. They come and go. The ones on my nose are very bright red blotches that raise a little and are very painful at first, then taper off as they disappear. The bumps are raised up and hard. The blotches are bright red/pink, big and slightly raised on the nose.
I'm a 15 year old, female. For as long as i can remember ive had this lump on the back of my skull. It doesnt hurt generally unless i press it or apply pressure. If you go to the top of my spine onto my skull on the left and right side there are a small bump in the skull. Everyone has them. The right side though is slightly bigger. Its hard and has no color. I'm going to my doctor soon for my child welness check up and i'll ask her to look at it. What could it be?
I started it just over 2 weeks ago, and it was for a week, however, on the 4th a day if noticed some raised bumps under my nipple in a sort of oval shape, and the inside was normal. At this point I didn't think anything of it, but 2 days later I saw red rings on my back, and using google, I was under the impression it was ringworm. I went to the doctors the next a day and he said it was just a reaction to the Klacid, so I went with it.
The last week the rash has traveled up my neck and is now on my jaw line, moving up my hairline. I do yoga and walk and don't feel I sweat enough to cause clogged oil glands or pores. I've been using Proactive for many years now and have found great relief with their oil free moisturizer and green tea lotion on my face. Proactive doesn't seem to have any effect on the rash. I sometimes wonder if the Minocin is causing the rash.
I dry off from the shower placing a lot of friction on the bumps and they do not rupture. There is also no rash on the shaft of the penis. These bumps are not sensitive to any type of hot water either. I have been having a slight pain, nothing unbearable, in my testicles that I had about 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with a Peptic Ulcer. I was tested for STD's at this time as a root cause and everything came back Neg.
It is characterised by small, very itchy pustules within the scalp, often most troublesome on the frontal hairline. The scalp should be washed with a mild normal shampoo as often as desired. Antidandruff shampoos containing antifungal agents such as ketoconazole or ciclopirox are sometimes helpful. Apart from that you need topical and oral antibiotics, antihistamines, oral steroids and topical tretinoin. My sincere advice is to get it examined from a dermatologist.
I have a ton of flat bumps on my face and a few on my upper arm and hands. I first noticed these bumps on my face when I was around 9 or so (im 20 now). But it was only one on my forehead by my hairline. I kept picking at it and it eventually went away up until a year or so ago. Now they are all over my forhead, between my brows, my chin and nostrils. I cant seem to get rid of them no matter how much i scrub with a washcloth....
I have had a burning and extremely itchy rash on the back of my neck, below my hairline, just above my collar.
The best way I can explain it is that it seems like the pores on my upper torso, as well as some spots on my forehead and neck, mostly in and around the hairline, develop these tiny bumps. When I squeeze the bumps, small clear balls come out of them - almost like the oils in my skin have congealed into a semi-solid ball. Sometimes they clog the pores and I end up with acne in those areas as well.
As for the bumps on my neck, they are at my hairline at the back and one has extended into my actual hair. There are very few (maybe 4 in all) and they itch. It makes it sound like a bug bite, but they won't go away either. There also seems to be a small swollen gland right at my hairline, just to the right of my spine, that feels like a hard lump beneath my skin.
Once stopped, the symptoms subsided - however - since then I have broken out in cycles on my chest/clavicles, back, and face. In the middle of March, I started getting itchy bumps on the base of my hairline near my neck which eventually healed in a week. Following a day outdoors with much sun exposure, at least I think it has something to do with this all, the left side of my neck became rather inflammed, bumpy, and burned.
Went and saw a different doctor about the lump on the back of my head about a week back. Just wanted to update everyone on what he said and maybe able to relieve some stress if you have the same problem. Felt the area and listened to my complaint... Ran a blood test and everything looked normal. I have had 4 sinus infections/colds this winter so he contributed it to a swollen lymph node. He said these can last up to 3 to 4 months and can be very painful.
I have a number of quite itchy bumps on my head that usually stay dry and flaky but which are swollen and bleeding at present. The bleeding is quite spontaneous and I will just feel a different sensation on my head and when I touch it the lump will be oozing clear fluid and blood. I have seen a doctor and a specialist, the bump has been biopsied and while it came back clear of cancer no one seemed to really diagnose it, except to say I have a more hair follicles than normal??
I also have little red bumps popping up on my skin. They are on my arms, legs, and belly. Like Tommy (the original question I found, same situation, they are too small to be mosquito bites, and I don't lay in the grass to get chiggers. One of the doctors said something about it being a heat rash and using benadryl cream for the itch. How can heat rash be prevented? Does suntan lotion help? It has become ver thin and fine. I am starting to develop a bald spot on the back of my head. My dad is bald but his balding was slow and he didn't develop a bald spot until mid 30s. My moms dad didn't ever have a bald spot just receded but still had a great head of hair until after his heart surgery at 60. I had a really stressful summer. Including accident, moving to a different country, and I had a huge std scare that really stressed me and I developed a rash in my penis.
They are all over my legs, arms, back, a few around my hairline, and some on my chest. A majority of the ones on my legs almost disappeared and now look like little pin pricks. My first thought was fleas, but i haven't seen any on me or my bed. The only thing i can think of that could have caused it was the fact i was sitting in grass for about 30 minutes yesterday. My boyfriend who also slept in my bed last night did not get any bumps, so what could they be?
