Is there a possibility that massage therapy would be beneficial in reducing or eliminating a seroma. If so what kind of massage? This discussion is related to seroma.
but felt strong enough to get back into weight lifting. Started lifting (w/a personal trainer 3 weeks ago) and left arm is swelling with odd feeling of fullness, and my ring is tighter. I'm inclined to stop lifting since that is the only change in habit that I can identify (there's no cut or infection) but I don't want to just give up. What can I do to reduce the swelling in my arm and should I give up the weight lifting? Thanks in advance for advice and suggestions!
like sharp stabbing no matter how i sit stand or lay it doesn't help. I can stretch it lift my arms over my head, massage it. doesn't matter it wont even ease up. I just want it to dull out a little bit so i can work and sleep!
I recently had a breast implant with a lift and I have noticed small stretch marks across them now. Is there anything you can buy to put on these to make them disappear?
Hi, my mom was diagnose for breast cancer about a year ago or more , she went through breast surgery and chemotherapy . Her Dr asked her to avoid lifting heavy object which she did not really follow that advice , after a couple of years she started having pains on her arm ,right arm where she had the surgery and this pains increases at night if she has been working that arm the previous day .
You could take some over the counter pain relief medications.Try some warm compresses, gentle breast massage with a mild lotion and see if it helps with your symptoms. Avoiding foods and beverages containing caffeine, such as coffee, tea, chocolate and soft drinks, can decrease water retention and may help to alleviate the discomfort If the pain still persists, you would need to see your doctor for a detailed clinical examination to find out the cause of your breast pain.okay?.
Try some warm compresses and breast massage and try avoiding lifting your baby for a few days. If your symptoms still persist, you would need to review with your doctor for a clinical examination. Let us know how you are doing and if you have any other doubts. Regards.
If you are sure that no signs of infection are noticed, and the incision site is well healed, then the pain should gradually subside in due time, but not worsen. You could apply some warm compresses, gently massage your breast, wear a good supportive bra and try not to lift heavy things. You could also take some OTC pain killers, like Tylenol to help ease the pain. Hoping that you'll feel better soon and that your biopsy results in benign findings.. Best wishes...
Perhaps even something as wild as an inflammed disk in the middle your back could be pinching a nerve which, would account for the deep pain that seems to be behing the breast bone. I had a miopathic massage done when I had severe aching up and down my left arm which included aching in the left armpit and breast as well as numbness in the fingers. The massage therapist pin pointed the exact place the pinched nerve was and after several sessions it was fine and I am symptom free.
I have sharp pain under and on the outside of my right breast. I haven't seen an ob/gyn about it as it just started today (wed 25th) so not sure if I need to yet. It doesn't hurt just when using the muscle or lifting. It hurts on and off. It gets really bad when laying on my right side so sleeping is hard. It eases slightly when laying on my left but not much. Is this something that I should get checked immediately or is it just muscle pain?
Hi - i am 55 yrs old - full menopause - taking no hormones. I have recently noticed 3 " strings" under the outer lower edge of my right hand breast if i lift it up. They seem to go into the breast and 1 radiates downwards to about the level of my ribcage. They are not painful - just slightly tender - and i feel a pulling sensation. There are no glands up under my arm.
Although the surgery went well and I am happy not to have hollows were my breasts were, I'm regretting the fact that I may have pain upon lifting, walking, bending, etc. for the rest of my life.I also can't find any bra that will stretch across my wide, flat breasts. Although small, there is still enough bounce (and reconstructed nipples) to make me self-concious without a light bra when dressing up.Any advice you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Went to a different massage therapist who really presssed too hard and the pain got worse. I had breast cancer seven years ago, so immediately called my oncologist, had a cat scan of the chest. Nothing. Went to my family doctor, who noted my back under she shoulder blade, under the arm and breast area was all sore to the touch. He gave me muscle relexants and said to take ibuprofen. That has helped, but the pain flared again today.
if you could please email me at ***@**** and tell me if you know a DR. in my area that is really good i would be so thankful. I have had so many failed breast surgerys i am really just about at my end and i still belive there is some one out there that can help me.
Don't pump!!! It will make it worse. Hot showers, massage your breasts while in there. Put warm compresses on while you nurse. When you're done nursing put ice packs on your boobs. Don't add formula. Just let baby nurse when baby is hungry. Also look into the Wic program, they have lactation consultants...
Also I tend to strain my pectoral muscles (under the breast) when lifting things or doing weight training--pain feels in the breast but isn't. Hope this helps.
I have a large lump on my rib that is right below my left breast. It is not in my breast but below my breast.I had a tumor removed a year ago in my right breast, which was benign, but this is strange. It is very large and very distinctive. Can you have a tumor on your rib and not in your breast that might be Breast cancer and what do you think it can be. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
If you check for massage therapists in your area, call them and ask if they have experience with massage after breast reduction. Because this is not something we talk about openly, many people are unaware of the benefits of massaging after breast reduction.
I have been experiencing pain in the upper left part of my chest and throughout the breast bone on the left side for about 8 weeks. I have had a CT scan done and nothing was found. My doctor has treated it as a pulled muscle, with IB Profin and also Flexerial (Muscle Relaxers) and it don't seem to help at all. I have even gone for a Therapeutic massage to see if it would help and it still hurts. Heat seems to help it to a point; until I pick up my two year old and do some lifting.
Hello. I had breast augmentation done about a month ago for both breasts. About 6 years ago I had only the right side done due to asymmetry. Now that I've had both done, the recovery time for both is different. My right breast healed really fast (about 2 weeks with no skin sensitivity). But the left side still hurts with extreme skin sensitivity. There is no redness, no swelling, and the skin color is fine (no bruising).
Also a discomfort at the root of my right breast and where it rest ,and when i lift my breast i do not feel the discomfort.what could be wrong?
You could apply some warm compresses, gently massage your breast, wear a good supportive bra and try not to lift heavy things. You could also take some OTC pain killers, like Tylenol to help ease the pain. Hoping that your upcoming surgery/ treatments will be uneventful and successful in beating this disease. Best wishes and good luck!
I had a Lumpectomy and Sentinel Node Biopsy on 4/3/12 and have been having a lot of pain and pulling from my forearm up to my armpit. I have tried massaging the area and it made it worse, even caused some swelling. We are getting ready to move and lifting full boxes is making the pain worse. The only thing that helps is pain medication. I have declined having Chemo or Radiation so it isn't a side effect of those treatments.
You could apply some warm compresses, gently massage your breast with a mild lotion, wear a good supportive bra and try not to lift heavy things. You could also take some OTC pain killers, like Tylenol to help ease the pain. However if your pain persists or becomes worse, you may ask to be referred to a breast specialist or pain management specialist to do a work up and try to sort out the cause of the pain and make appropriate treatment recommendations. Hoping that soon you'll feel much better..
* It hurts to inhale a deep breath. It hurts to turn my torso. It hurts to lift my arms. And nursing my baby? Ohmuhgosh, please just shoot me!!! When he latches on or pulls off--dear God, the pain is literally blinding and I want to throw up. My back, neck and shoulders ache. I can barely tolerate the pain of wearing a bra, much less lifting my arms to pull a shirt over my head!
Five months after mastectomy, removal of 13 lymph nodes and simultaneous silicone implant have developed cording NOT in arm but from implant in right breast to ribcage below. Appeared after final chemo with tax. Initially thought pain in breast and ribcage was nerve endings waking up after surgery and initial raised cording a fold in implant or scar tissue.
To help in the healing process, you could apply warm compresses, gently massage your breast, wear a good supportive bra and try not to lift heavy things.Over the counter medication such as Acetaminophen or ibuprofen usually can address the pain related to this type of nerve injury.
Sounds like a muscle spasm of the muscle Subscapularis You could have pain from it that radiates kind of into the breast and nipple region First see your doctor and get a referral to see a Physical Therapist or go to a massage therapist, They can stretch this out (some thing you probably couldn't do to this muscle on your own).
