Avatar m tn m 40, childless (which means ptosis was not due to breast feeding) and had a breast lift 4 weeks ago. Implants were out of the question for me. If you want perkiness a lift, whether the incisions will be concentric, lollipop or inverted T is for you to discuss AT LENGTH with a plastic surgeon. I received an inverted T, which I am not at all happy with because the P.S. that did my breasts did not specify that during my consultation.
Avatar f tn I have had a breast lump for 7years now it doesn't hurt but every now and then but im thinking about getting it taken out after baby but I cant lift anything for a month and I wanna hold my baby love what should I do ladies
Avatar n tn I had a breast lift w/ lipo 20 months ago- my left breast has been feeling like something is tearing inside and I have a strange, almost achey feeling in the breast and towards my armpit. This breast is larger than the right, but always has been. I also gained apprx 15 lbs since then and am not sure if this has caused these feeling. I am at a point where I don't know if I should be concerned and go back and see the cosmetic surgeon or should I see my family doctor.
Avatar n tn Due to the usual reasons for sagging skin - aging, chronic dieting and genetics, I am considering a buttocks lift. I am worried that I may be bringing unforeseen medical/health problems into this relatively late stage of my life from what seems a pretty radical surgery which also leaves inch wide scars that run along the backside. How much pain and suffering is there? How long does it take to recover and resume a physically active life - vigorous daily exercise, jogging, sports, dancing, etc.
Avatar n tn My health insurance ghi does not cover breast lift or reduction. I am currently a size 42dd and my breast are sagging. I cannot afford the procedure or do not know exactly what I need if its a breast lift or reduction. I suffer from shoulder pains almost everyday am my doctor only prescribe me motrin for the pain. I really need help and cannot afford it. Is there a list or some doctors that can help me for free in nyc?
Avatar f tn Everyone is different, but my surgery was relatively easy, recovery was pretty quick and my scar is small and faint. I even went to a dance class the night after. Make sure you ask your surgeon all the questions you may have related to the procedure, recovery and the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn We are all different as to how we deal with pain, pain meds...and the surgery in general ...so recovery is different for all of us. May I ask, does ur DD have a syrinx, CSF obstruction, EDS, sleep apnea, tethered cord, or over crowding?
Avatar m tn In breast lift, only a small amount of tissue is removed for shaping purpose but in breast reduction, a more significant volume is removed to actually changed the cup size of the breast. To simplify matters, breast reduction surgery is a breast uplift procedure but with a significant changes in breast volume with removal of tissue.
Avatar n tn My tram was performed May 07. I was out of the hospital in 4 days, but then again, my surgery was textbook pretty. I kissed my plastic surgeon goodbye this past Nov/Dec. If all goes well, 6-8 weeks from surgery to be able to lift things heavier than 5 pounds. If they don't do the nipple during surgery, after the 8 weeks, it'll be 4-6 weeks for nipple recovery enough to tattoo the areola, the 4 more weeks for that heal. That's the only "pain" after the intial healing.
Avatar f tn Breast lifts are uniformly performed with breast reductions. With a lift as the sole procedure, often just excess skin is removed without significant reduction of breast volume. With a reduction, both breast tissue and fat is removed along reshaping the breasts and elevation of nipple position. The decision as to which procedure to select depends on whether there is a need for volume reduction.
Avatar m tn After this surgery I do not intend on goin back. For I am no longer able to lift or physically do my job on an assembly line building car gears. Only time will tell hun. You are in my prayers.......
Avatar f tn to a new plastic surgeon as well and he suggested tram. I had surgery 6-5-08, like second day after surgery continuous swelling in rgt breast so sent 4 ultrasound, said everything ok, I was sent home from hospital returned for post-op week later, I have 2 openings under rgt breast w/ continuous drainage and was told that the huge lump (hard as a rock) could be necrosis. My belly button drains continuously as well, was told to clean breast and belly button more.
Avatar f tn breast lift, breast reduction, and breast enlargement (augmentation). Depending on your specific case, one or more of these techniques would be helpful to restore a youthful look to your bosom. Breasts are not stagnant organs, they are always changing throughout life. In a young women they grow and develop. They change each month with the menstrual cycle. Pregnancy affects the breasts as does nursing.
Avatar m tn OMG I have the exact problem. I am 4 weeks out from bi lateral lift and reduction reconstruction surgery. I had phyllodes tumer cut out a year ago and just had reconstruction surgery. Avatar m tn It has been 2 1/2 weeks since my heart attack and the doctor is telling me it is left up to me when I should and want to go back to work. I have a job that I lift more then 50 lbs and I do not want to have another heart attack. He says I have no restrictions that I could have another heart attack in my sleep just as well I could have one anywhere else. I do not know what to do? Please give me advice, do I need to get a second opinion?
Avatar f tn Hi, I had a laporotomy recently (last week) and wondered if anyone had any useful info re recovery? I am off work for 4 weeks and have been told not to lift anything too heavy and not drive or exercise for 4-6 weeks but it all seems a bit vague. What does 'too heavy' mean? Can I lift a saucepan of water? A container of milk? Also, I love doing exercise and want to get back into it asap. I know I can't do anything for 4-6 weeks, but after that what can I do?
Avatar n tn What is the "typical" recovery time for a IOL implant cataract surgery to stabilize. That is, how long after cataract surgery should one expect the vision to stabilize.
Avatar f tn t matter if he has gone on and taken the years of extra training it takes to get REAL certifications in Plastic Surgery. You also want a surgeon that does A LOT of reconstructive breast surgery. Not a boob mill Doctor. NOT some guy who graduated at the BOTTOM of his class either. Decide what you want, cut out some pictures or print some off the net. Ask to see his book of before and afters, ask to talk to patients, get on the net and spent 25 bucks and see if he has been sued and for what.
Avatar n tn I had retina detachment surgery 4 months ago today. For the first few weeks I didn't lift anything--I wasn't even allowed to take the clothes out of the washer and put them in the dryer except one at a time and I also couldn't lean over. Because I work at a desk I was allowed to go back to work after 3 weeks and I am very careful about what I lift even now. It was not fun being at home for 3 weeks and not being able to do anything!
Avatar f tn I am scheduled for surgery in the beginning of May to remove a large cyst. Although I haven't had my appointment with the surgeon yet, I am sure the surgery will be a laparotomy. I would like to be prepared as possible for my recovery and would love to hear any ideas from those of you who have been through it. What should I have ready? From reading past posts I'm planning to be prepared with lots of pillows, a heating pad, and some gas-x. Anything else?
Avatar n tn What is the typical recovery time for A&P Repair. I am an accountant and work at a desk all day, little or no lifting, and have a very hectic schedule. I want to have the surgery done but can't afford to be off work 2 weeks.
