Common Questions and Answers about Breast lift surgery recovery

Avatar n tn Dear Doctor, I am early 50's, contemplating breast lift surgery. I may have implants done at the same time. My main concerns are these: 1) Will the nipple sensation be the same after surgery and recovery? Nipple feeling is a big part of arousal for me and I would hate to lose it. 2) At my age, should I be concerned about the life of implants? I would rather not do anything that will certainly require additional surgery if I live to be elderly. Thank you.

Avatar n tn Hello - I had an 8cm endometriosis removed along with my left ovary through laparotomy (vertical incision) at the beginning of January. It was my first surgery too, and while I was nervous about it, I must say having that monster out of my body was worth it. I was in the hospital overnight, went home the next day and was in quite a lot of pain during the first week...it took a lot of coaxing from my mom to get me to stand and walk, but everyday was significantly better than the one before.
Avatar f tn Although I try not to lift anything absolutely heavy, I still have to lift some things. Afterwards, my arms get numb down to my hands and my left breast hurts. Did I seriously injure myself? What's the average time for full recovery for breast augmentation?
Avatar f tn Let me tell you sth, before my surgery, I read a lot of info about surgery, recovery time, pain, pregnancy ... The day of my surgery I was really relaxing and not scarred caus, I have all info. The 1st day of my surg, I only had nausea no pain at all. I have really a wounderful Doc (obgyn). My obgyn, told me (no intercourse for two weeks cause there was few blood coming out of my vigina actually for 4-days only then stopped), gave me Iboprofin, pain killer that will help me pain relief.
Avatar n tn I just went to see a surgeon and he wants to do a lumpectomy on my left breast and as he was examining he felt something on my right breast and wants to do a biopsy on that one. I asked him how much time I would have to be out of work. (I work in patient care and have to be able to to lift 50 pounds) He said that I could go to work the next day if I wanted to. Also he has a sign up on his office that said he doesn't carry malpractice insurance. I am thinking about going to see someone else.
1222635 tn?1366399886 Much stem cell research has been directed at finding therapies for diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, motor neurone and muscular wasting. The use of the cells for cosmetic breast surgery was begun in 2004 by Kotaro Yoshimura, a surgeon at Tokyo University medical school. He said last week: “I believe that within five years my procedure will be available as plastic surgery and that it will prove very popular.
427258 tn?1266448842 I have been having an internal conflict with myself and my husband about Breast Implants and Lift. Since having my children my breasts have changed sizes numerous times as well as lost the 'perkiness'. I am young and have worked hard to try and get my body back into shape. I know I am a mother, but I want a typical 24 y/o body, is that selfish? What are your thoughts about getting the procedure done? Have you personally done it and if so what can I expect as far as price and recovery etc.

Avatar n tn I've done PT and it doesn't do anything. I've had surgery on my other shoulder for impingement(bone spur - twice he did surgery to shave it off as he didnt take enough off the first time and it also rubbed against my muscle/tendon/ligament-one of those- and caused it to fray).
Avatar n tn Hi, My paternal grandmother got breast cancer in her mid 30's and beat it. My great aunt on my maternal side had breast cancer and died. My aunts, mom and cousins on my mom side have issues with lumps in there breast. It seems that every year they have to have a lump removed. Always benign. My paternal grandmother and I are like two pea's in a pod. Every health issue she had growing up I have gotten, right down to thinning hair and a short stature.

Avatar m tn OMG I have the exact problem. I am 4 weeks out from bi lateral lift and reduction reconstruction surgery. I had phyllodes tumer cut out a year ago and just had reconstruction surgery. Right breast sore and tender but healing nicely. Under my left breast I have an open wound. Just came from the Dr yesterday and he has me doing wet to dry gauze. soaking 2x2 in saline and inserting in the wound and dry 4x4 over top. I have INTENSE pain, which I never anticipated this far out from surgery.
Avatar n tn It's been 9 months so far. Hurray! It's the little things that make me happy. lol What is the recovery time after surgery? How soon will they do RAI? We will all be waiting anxiously on Aug. 31, and hoping to hear from you soon thereafter.
Avatar n tn I had FNA that came out "suspicious" and during the surgery it was found to be malignant. I wasn't nervous at all going into surgery, except for the fact that they were slicing on my neck, but in my heart, I knew and told all my family ahead of time that I KNEW it was cancer.
167 tn?1374177417 i had a breast reduction in 2000. so i did the opposite lol but recovery was horrible. i was sqeamish and made dh change my dressing but i would do it again b/c even after having jett they are still perky. which was a surprise. just whatever you do, do not let them remove the nipple.
Avatar f tn I do not have experience with breast feeding, but I would recommend asking the doctor for a reference to a lactation specialist that could help you. As for the surgery, recovery should be about a week. I would not do to much lifting at all and you most likely will not want to lift anything for a few days. I would try and see if you could get a friend or a family member to help you for about a week until you're up and going again.
Avatar f tn He also said not to lift anything over 5 pounds with the side that the surgery was performed on. I followed his advice and it took about a month before I could perform normal activities and another 2 weeks before I felt 100%. I was diagnosed with AV malformation and am so glad that I had the surgery. I haven't felt this good in a really long time. Give yourself time to recover and definitely take your pain pills. Hopefully in about 1 month from the surgery you will feel better.
Avatar f tn You will get use to them. I went from a 36FF to a 36D. It is quite a shock at first. Just think you will be able to wear cute bras and not have the straps digging into your shoulders. If after a while your still not happy with them you can always have a small implant put in.
Avatar f tn I am undergoing surgery for the removal of axillary breast tissue under my right arm. The surgery is scheduled for 20 Aug 07. I was briefed throughly that the casuses could be hereditary, due to lactating, etc. I noticed mine shortly after nursing my youngest child (23 months) and it has been bothersome ever since. I have gone to the doctor so many times and they always tell me maybe it is my lympnodes or cancer.. I had a breast ultrasound done and there is no trace of cancer.
Avatar f tn Everyone is different, but my surgery was relatively easy, recovery was pretty quick and my scar is small and faint. I even went to a dance class the night after. Make sure you ask your surgeon all the questions you may have related to the procedure, recovery and the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn I just had mine done in May and love them (big Bs). The surgery and recovery were not bad at all (he went on top of the muscle). I had the ugliest boobs on the planet, let me tell you. Sagging A cups, and one was a completely different shape than the other. The doc said one nipple was three times bigger than the other. Gross. I even had to have them lifted as well as stuffed. Doc says I was one of his most challenging cases EVER. They weren't that bad before DD.
517119 tn?1285874992 six rounds of taxotere, adrimyocin and cytoxine. reconstruction on mast side may 6, 2008 breast lift-augmentation on good side/tatto/nipple repair on bad side tbd...probably in august some time... i had one lymph node involved so hence the six rounds of chemo..joy oh joy!! seeing that youre tiny, youre probably good for the breast implant rather than a tram flap...i would check into having your ps piggyback your gs to start reconstruction...it helps a lot....
Avatar f tn I'm a 47 year old male that had sepsis and multi-organ failure. I'm a trainer and am having a hard time with this slow recovery...I was in the ER Dec. 12 and out Dec 24, 2009. When I entered the ER, my bp was 60/40, hr 184 and a fever of 104.5. They thought that I wouldn't make it. So glad that I did! It is now Feb 16, 2010. Any idea what kind of recovery time I should expect? I feel that that I am 50 plus % of my old self right now...please advise. Thank you!
Avatar n tn First chemo end July - Taxol/Carboplatin, next treatment aborted due to a violent reaction to Taxol. Had five more treatments on Carboplatin alone then surgery 18 days ago to remove all the surgeon could get out - full hysterectomy and other 'bits' including omentum which was three times normal size and housed majority of the disease. No other organs affected (as yet!
Avatar f tn I have always lived with back pain (high heels, job that required alot of standing, large breasts, a 2 year old!!) In December, I had breast reduction surgery that went great and felt a huge "lift" from my back. But after starting a workout regimine with a trainer, I started to have horrible back pain. After realizing this was not a muscle pain, my doctor ordered an MRI which confirmed an injury to the L2-L3 disc.
Avatar n tn But I am concerned since I do get small cysts in the breast that go away after awhile (pre-surgery). Are you going to have the BRCA test? I will try the sage tea and the code word, that will make my family feel better--they can communicate with me if I ever go "off the deep end.
