Avatar n tn If u are diabetic and fasting sugar is high in morning use diamicron in the medicine along with metformin.
Avatar n tn Hmm, sorry but I guess I do not understand. Your post says that the discussion is related to "fasting blood sugar levels high in the morning" but all of your information relates to testing blood after meals. Guess that for me it cannot be both. My Diabetes Nurse's instructions for morning fasting blood test are to test the blood "when you awake, before eating or any medication".
Avatar n tn I had mentioned to a friend with a diabetic son that after I exercise(run) in the morning my blood sugar will sometimes shoot up 100-150 points and this is after a reading of 120-150 prior to running on my treadmill. I then have readings that are 200-250 and I get very frustrated! I am a type I diabetic for 26 years. I thought this was strange seeing that I had not eaten anything to make my blood sugar climb so high.
Avatar n tn After I gave him something really sweet to drink about 45 minutes later he was ready to eat. So do we have a problem with low sugar or high sugar? Is this something to worry about? He cant't talk so he can't tell us how he feels. My husband won't have insurance until the end of April. So were kinda stuck at the moment with being able to get anyone to help us. We were also told that since his seizures last that long we should really be worrying about brain deteriation.
Avatar f tn My morning blood sugar readings have been very high in the past few days. They range from 190 to 222. I went to my Endo last week and she adjusted my insulin based on the high readings. I was just getting over an upper respiratory infection and she attributed the high readings to the infection. She didn't prescribe any antibiotics because she said I didn't have bronchitis. My lungs were clear. She said if the coughing continued, I should probably see my primary.
Avatar m tn Check if it can raise your blood sugar levels. Some high blood pressure medicine can raise the sugar levels. Know your body. It is the inly one you will have.
Avatar m tn This morning i took my blood test (not a diabetic, trying to rule out low blood sugar that may cause some symptoms im having) and it ranged from 118 right when i woke up to 95 when i got moving. Is too much blood on the strip bad? should i just have enough on the strip to allow a reading and take my finger away? it seemed that my readings were lower when it got just enough blood to get a reading and i took my finger away. also, how fast does a sport drink like gatorade raise your blood sugar?
Avatar f tn After monitoring my blood sugars for a while and changing my diet I lowered my fasting blood sugar to 172. This is much better then the 300 readings I've been getting; however, my dad said that my blood pressure readings are too high. I wanted to know how to get them down. I stop using salt and use Mrs. Dash and Lemon Pepper to season food. My readings July 18 were morning 136/107, bedtime 147/115; July 19 Morning 136/101, After lunch 148/111 and Bedtime 144/115. This morning it was 141/108.
Avatar m tn I was told my liver sent out too much glucose during night time. All readings were fine but morning BGL were still high. So i was given metformin and now my morning readings are good.
Avatar m tn My pressure readings are around systolic is better now around 125 - morning evening - 135 but my diastolic is still high around 85-90 morning ,90-95 evening i have stopped tablets since 4 days. Should i continue tabs ( as doc says this age taking tabs will lead to complications like diabetes and nerve issues at later age) Are there specific foods, juices and other natural ways that could help me lower my diastolic?
Avatar f tn I am on metformin 2000mg, but my blood glucose is still high in the morning yet low after my evening meal. Is there anything I can do to lower the readings. And why would this be happening. This discussion is related to Diabetic meds.
325405 tn?1262290178 My Metformin increased to 1000mg one month later and then in December my insulin was tested again it was finally normal. My morning blood sugar readings are now between 95 and 105 but if I don't take the Metformin they go up to 115 to 120. I don't test alot during the day but on those times I have after a meal I'm usually in the 120's. What was your diagnosis of Type 2 based on? Did you have the 2 or 3 hours glucose test? Sounds like your doing great managing your numbers!
Avatar f tn I was diabetic, had gastric bypass 3 years ago and was taken off metformin as my a1c was like 4.8. I should preface that I always have an issue with high morning numbers. My last a1c was 5.8, so still good but my bg on the test was 200. Now this week I has a wellness screening at work and my fasting bg was 330. The last week or so I have been feeling blah and lightheaded. I called my doctor who wanted me to go to the emergency room but I declined as I was feeling fine.
Avatar f tn my son's father is paranoid about our 3 year old son. when i picked up my son yesterday he told me that he took the baby to some youth thing where they checked his glucose level. he said that it was 437. i find that hard to believe. i am pretty sure if it was that high they would have told him to take him to the emergency room. instead he said he was going to take him to the doctors on monday and ask them to run some tests.
Avatar f tn I have an avacado, a Healthy Choice fudgesicle and some peanuts. Took my blood sugar this morning and it 141 fasting! Usually about 115 otherwise. Do you think I overate? My blood sugar was at 105 at 2:00 PM before eating.
Avatar m tn I would suggest you talk to your doctor about these readings and have him give you the correct medication to control your blood sugar. 170 is very high for a fasting blood sugar.
Avatar n tn ve been off the Paxil for a month now and the flushing/sweating has totally stopped(2-3 weeks ago) and my fasting blood sugar readings have dropped to between 110-101. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking that the Paxil was somehow affecting my readings and when I was good then my sugar dropped too low, hence the flushing/sweating. Anyway, thank you for any input...
1680047 tn?1468911829 140-180 two hours after eating would be too high. Your stated values of fasting blood sugar readings are high, according to my doctor.
Avatar n tn Found it: 6.2 A1C is an average blood sugar of 131. Your typical blood sugars sound a bit higher than that, so I'm wondering if they have gone up recently and that A1C is older. Again, A1Cs are just an average and lows could skew it. Your daily numbers tell the story and if those are consistent then you want them lower. Doctors, unfortunately, have higher goals because the ADA is behind on what blood sugars should be and that is their guidelines.
