Common Questions and Answers about Blood sugar high morning type 2

blood-sugar

Avatar n tn 4.4 (80) is a normal fasting blood sugar level. Am I correct that this number was your morning fasting number? If your fasting blood sugar is consistently at this level, maybe you need to take your Metformin in the morning with breakfast to help with your meal time numbers (and not before you sleep). What is you Hba1c? Why were your prescribed metformin? What was the result that resulted in it's prescription? Please come back and let us know.
Avatar f tn This would involve evaluation of c-peptide, antibodies, and insulin levels correlated with blood sugar levels. Type 1 is lack of insulin (and needs injected insulin), Type 2 is plenty of insulin, but there is insulin resistance and the insulin is not effective. For Type 2, oral meds may be appropriate. If it is adult onset type 1, it may develop quickly. Therefore, I suggest your read up on syptoms of both type 1 and type 2 and if you develop symptoms then you must go to your Dr.
Avatar f tn Wgat is the blood sugar levels surposed to be from 70 to 200 what. Can someone help please. Thanks for taking the time out to read my post.
Avatar n tn I have been type one diabetic for about 14 years now. I am a fireman and my blood sugar will be good before I go to a fire but after the fire i will test it and it will be vary high. Is there a reason for this. Is there any thing i can do to prevent this from happening? Thanks for your time doc.
Avatar f tn Your morning glucose levels indicate type 2 diabetes. Try not to eat starchy foods or foods loaded with carbohydrates at night. They turn into sugar after digestion. And no late snacking. The "throughout the day" has no meaning unless they were 2-3 hours after a meal. The sometimes of "192, 263" are high and entering the dangerously high zone. The times to test are mornings before breakfast, before each lunch and dinner meals and 2-3 hours after each meal.
Avatar m tn My question is i have type 2 diabetes, and in the morings before i eat my blood sugar reading is 140 to 162 my meds are metformin 1ooo mg in the morning, and 1ooo in the eaving with meals. i allso take dlipizide 5 mg in the morning before i eat and 5 mg in eaving before i eat.my last ac1 was 7.3 up from 6.9 my urin creatine was 116. and creatine was 1.
Avatar f tn d probably get it checked in another 6 months to see where you are at. This article may help you understand how blood sugar can fluctuate and when it is normal. https://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn I m Type-1 diabetic from last 15 years and my blood sugar level used to be under control but from last 2 Weeks, my sugar level fluctuates a lot. Fasting blood sugar is nearly around 300 : before dinner around 500 and after dinner its around 400.There is no change in my diet, exercise or my daily routine pattern. Even I take short acting insulin(novorapid) when my sugar level goes beyond 300 but it doesn't make much difference. I m really worried.
Avatar n tn The symptoms you describe I think have more to do with high blood sugar than the type of diabetes. Which insulin(s) are you currently taking? With insulin you should be able to get your blood sugars under control pretty quickly. I would have the antibody test done as soon as you can.
Avatar n tn 1) If you are eating your dinner later than usual, then change to eat no than than 7 pm. 2) If you are having a high fat bedtime snack, change what type of food that you are eating that will still give you both carbs and protein. 3) Set your alarm clock for 3 am, check your sugar, and write it down in a log to discuss with your doctor. Only your doctor can really determine what is going on with your blood glucose, but it helps to have already taken the above steps.
11478709 tn?1526751275 do I suffer from type 2? I went one time to my probably 25 year old GP she than send me to take a blood test but that test what she explained to me didn't show that my sugar level is high in my blood although it showed that my cholesterol level was little high so she told me to carry on as normal nothing is wrong..
Avatar m tn Hi Good afternoon friends, I am type 2 since 1996. Taking Diamicron 60mg in the morning before break fast and metformin 500 mg morning/afternoon and dinner. Walking 30-40 minutes every day evening. Today fasting sugar was 140 but after doing yoga for sometime I rechecked fasting which was 186. I drank only plain water. Anybody can help me why this happens.
Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
1058898 tn?1275675151 told me to watch my blood sugar because im having symptoms of hypo. I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137.
325405 tn?1262290178 I also know that gestational diabetes is more strict with blood sugar levels than regular type II diabetes. Now that I have type II, what are the ranges to aim for for blood sugar levels for fasting and then for 2 hours after a meal? Right now, I'm testing about 100 to 110 in the morning and about 110 to 130 after meals. If I forget to take my metformin at night, my fasting level is usually around 120 to 130. But, with the medicine it is 100 to 110 fasting. Is this good?
Avatar n tn I don't know very much about the meds and dosing for Diabetes but if what your taking isn't lowering your blood sugar to a normal level you should really consult your physician. This can cause serious irreversible damage to your kidneys among other things. Make sure you are filling your diet faithfully. I have heard that cinnamon capsules can help with diabetes. You can ask your dr if it would help you in addition to your meds or maybe he may want to switch your meds.
Avatar f tn Please see your Dr if you are not on meds. If you are on oral meds and having blood sugars this high, you may need to be on insulin. You should also see your Dr. about this. If you are already on insulin then you should increase dose, as instructed by your care provider. Controlling dietary carbs, exercise, avoiding sugars may also help in bringing blood sugars down.
Avatar m tn Hello, his blood sugar levels are very high and he will get complications if this is maintained. This may contribute to how he is feeling, or there may be some other problem going on. We cannot give medical advice here, and your father's situation means he should see his Dr. for further evaluation and assistance. Please go back to his doctor and report how he is feeling, and request proper assessment of his healthy and adjustment of his medications.
Avatar n tn I went to the ER not long ago and I was told I had very high blood sugar, I had not eaten anything for more than 8 hours other than toast.
Avatar m tn Herbalife makes a number of shakes, none which you identified as your meal. Read the nutrition label. Some have minute amounts of sugar and carbs others not. For example Herbalife - Shake-Formula 1 Fr Vanilla has 13 grams of carbs but 9 grams of sugar, a little over a heaping tablespoon of sugar....not healthy.
Avatar n tn s a much less common phenomenon called Somogyi effect where a waking high blood sugar results from our blood sugar having plummeted overnight -- then the liver causes glucose to be released to counteract that low. Here is a good explanation offered by someone at UCSD: http://www.faqs.org/faqs/diabetes/faq/part2/section-13.html While I'm not a physician (no one here is), I've learned how to "test" what's going on.
Avatar n tn my blood sugar level is 200-280... 2 hrs after dinner and fasting is 110-130 in morning at 6 AM.
