Avatar n tn After I gave him something really sweet to drink about 45 minutes later he was ready to eat. So do we have a problem with low sugar or high sugar? Is this something to worry about? He cant't talk so he can't tell us how he feels. My husband won't have insurance until the end of April. So were kinda stuck at the moment with being able to get anyone to help us. We were also told that since his seizures last that long we should really be worrying about brain deteriation.
Avatar n tn The morning blood sugar is a fasting blood sugar and tells the doctor how your body reacts with out food. The body releases hormones (growth etc.), while the body is at rest. Most hormones are glucose based and can affect blood sugar that is why when women menstruate and children have growth spurts their blood sugars and insulin dosages need to be changed. I would suggest you ask your doctor what blood sugar range he would like you to be in and what you could do to be in better control.
Avatar n tn Thanks, I never thought about the sugar going up in the morning being turned around bt actually eating. Bang! I could have had a v8!
Avatar n tn All of my number are ok EXCEPt my fasting blood sugar. I'm not in any medication.
1773108 tn?1314158067 Good Morning, I have a question about high blood sugar levels that don't seem to stabilize. My boyfriend has been struggling for years with high blood sugar. He told me this morning that his level was at 480+!!!! He says he doesn't feel any different whether it's high or low. The lowest it's been (to my knowledge) is still in the high range of 200+.
Tbd com/diabetes/morning-high-blood-sugar-levels. Our body releases hormones at night that in turn makes our blood sugar go up. It can also occur when you didn't have enough insulin the night before. The linked article has ways to combat that. You've been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes?
Avatar m tn Hi, It is quite well known for many people with diabetes that exercise can influence blood sugars. It can influence it to go higher or to go lower. While your response is individual, in my experience, intense physical activity can make blood sugars high (this is due to the effect of adrenaline and also the liver releasing glucose). The high may be followed by lows later.
Avatar f tn It really depends if u need insulin or pills, if you cant control your blood sugar then you take pills if your blood sugar is not high. But if normally your fasting numbers are high then thats why they put you on insulin. I have a coworker that went straight to insulin and shes a diabetic now but her numbers were crazy high like in the 500 when she did the glucose test. The doc just prob know that pills wont help you.
Avatar n tn I tested my blood sugar this morning and it was 105. Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar n tn I had mentioned to a friend with a diabetic son that after I exercise(run) in the morning my blood sugar will sometimes shoot up 100-150 points and this is after a reading of 120-150 prior to running on my treadmill. I then have readings that are 200-250 and I get very frustrated! I am a type I diabetic for 26 years. I thought this was strange seeing that I had not eaten anything to make my blood sugar climb so high.
1058898 tn?1275675151 I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137. I have also notice that i spike about 1 hour after eating and come down around 2 hours after which is mostly in the 130. and i notice if i drink a can of pop.
Avatar f tn All these things greatly influence blood sugar. If you have been unable to get your blood sugar stable at all, these are things you need to work on. I hope your husband gets better soon.
Avatar f tn Can someone tell me how high your blood sugar should get before you become alarmed or call the doctor? I have not been diagnosed but a few months and my doctor has not told me much of nothing. My sugar keeps going up and down, my doctor won't put me on medicine(the highest its been is 400+, the lowest 60) Thanks for your help!!!
Avatar f tn I am on metformin 2000mg, but my blood glucose is still high in the morning yet low after my evening meal. Is there anything I can do to lower the readings. And why would this be happening. This discussion is related to Diabetic meds.

Avatar n tn My numbers are high when I check them right after getting up in the morning. Usually around 6:30am. Does anyone have any advise to bring these numbers down an it?
Avatar n tn I want to bring morning sugar to 6or 7. I am facing a very unstable situation in blood pressure and sugar and these two are working against each other After 3 hours of eating, no humalog is there, but why I feel shaky and then BG starts increasing? Though sugar is not low.
