Avatar n tn just support her as best you can, and it would help to see a nutritionist so she can still keep healthy eating habbits and get in to shape. also taking vitamins help allot, exspecially b vitamins they should help here metabolism function a tad bit more. she should try lifting weights, and trust me she wont get huge and bulky like she may think from lifing weights. i wish her the best.
Avatar f tn t lift more than half my weight. I worked in dog grooming so I was always lifting dogs up into tubs and what not.
Avatar m tn I would contact the doctor who inserted the pacemaker and see what they say. If it hurts lifting may be causing stress on the device so best to see what the doctor has to say about it.
Avatar f tn U could get a hernya or miscarriage lifting so much weight girl!
Avatar f tn First of all I would say it depends on how far u are and not only That but also whether or not u were lifting heavy before pregnancy. It's easy to strain yourself when lifting specially because your balance isn't as good. I'm 120 pounds pretty petite if I lift 50 pounds that's Def not safe lol.
Avatar n tn Is anyon weight lifting during their pregnancy i do alot of squats dead lifts and hugg intensity exercises. My doctor said it was alright but other s ob say otherwise..
1632896 tn?1299942340 You should do both cardiovascular exercises, like running, swimming, etc and weight training/resistance exercises, like push ups(using your own body weight as a weight), lifting weights, etc. Lifting weights and weight exercises will not make you look bulking and big(unless done in excess), but will help to tone your body.
Avatar f tn Weight limits and lifting really depends on your doctor's comfort level. Some say 20lb limit, some say 40. You'll really need to talk to your doctor about your restrictions. Some women are able to do heavier lifting through their pregnancy without any issues, but that's by no means a guarantee. Lifting can put undue strain on your body and abdomen. You want to avoid the stress on your body as in rare instances, it can cause miscarraige or early labor.
Avatar f tn I go to the gym everday...and i am currently 6 weeks lifting moderate to heavy weight. I definitely dont over do it, but i work up a good sweat. Does anyone do crossfit or lift weights?
Avatar f tn Suggest you eat 3 meals a day and try to eat a Heart Healthy diet which will give you the nutrients, vitamins and minerals your body needs, gain weight slowly, and help with possibly preventing future disease states.
897494 tn?1267476064 I heard that interval training is the best, and fastest way to loose weight. Is this true? I recently started a routine that involves of lifting 10 lb weight 5 sets of 1 90 second reps, followed by 20 min of interval cardio on an eliptical machine, 60-90 sec. running, 60 sec. rest, then I move on to more weights, and leg press, then to the treadmill for another 20 min interval cardio workout, using the same time routine as the eliptical workout.
Avatar f tn I'm 21yrs old and 9 weeks pregnant. I work for an airline and sometimes lift 50lbs bags at check in. I've heard lifting heavy weight can be bad and lead to miscarriages. However I've also heard that because I have done this job for the past 2 years I should be fine because my body has adapted to it. I told management and they said the only thing they could do is congratulate me...
Avatar m tn I'm very active, weight-lifting at least 5X /week. However, I'm also taking alot of nutritional supplemnt vitamins from GNC . They are not approved by the FDA. Now, I am concern that they may not be good for my liver. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn What is the weight limit for lifting when you're 5 weeks??
Avatar m tn Yes. It should be fine unless there is a significan gas bubble in your eye. Best wishes, Timothy D. McGarity, M.D. tmcgaritymd.
1346723 tn?1300718741 Coffee is okay during pregnancy! :) And Erm, I duno, I shall look for you, because the doctor just gave me folic acid when I said I was pregant! I shall look now... Newly expectant mothers often want to get started on vitamin supplements right away. Many worry that it will hurt the baby if they are too nauseated to take a vitamin, or if they didn't find out about their pregnancies until they were a few months along. But what do prenatal vitamins really accomplish?

Avatar f tn I plan on asking next time I go in, but I was wondering if I have a weight limit on how much I can lift or if it just something people say. I read up that if you are used to lifting things then you are fine but I'm not sure. P.s. I'm 23 weeks pregnant and so far everything is going well no complications.

Avatar f tn depends what you are talking about... weight lifting, if you were doing it before you were pregnant then your fine to continue doing what you did at the gym if it still feels comfortable. if you mean things around the house and so on i carry loads of laundry at home up and down are flight of stairs since the beginning im 32 wks now ( no problems) i also have a 4 year old niece i carried early in pregnancy she's probably about 25 or 30 lbs.

Avatar n tn but felt strong enough to get back into weight lifting. Started lifting (w/a personal trainer 3 weeks ago) and left arm is swelling with odd feeling of fullness, and my ring is tighter. I'm inclined to stop lifting since that is the only change in habit that I can identify (there's no cut or infection) but I don't want to just give up. What can I do to reduce the swelling in my arm and should I give up the weight lifting? Thanks in advance for advice and suggestions!
Avatar n tn ok so in the past two weeks i have recently started to have weird sensations in my muscles, its like they shake under stress or if i have been working out lots. say im lifting a weight, then my muscles will shake. or anything like that my legs to. i have done chewing tobacco multiple times a week, which i am quitting and i recently tried marijuana which was stupid to do i know but it wont ever happen again.
Avatar f tn ) ) Take prenatal vitamins on a regular basis. Talk to your doctor about weight lifting limits, and any other questions you may have. Wash your hands often (a given) Wear gloves while using cleaners....etc When I first found out I was pregnant, I wrote down EVERYTHING I had a question about, that way when I went to see my doc I didn't have a brain fart trying to remember I wanted to ask. CONGRATS!!
