suggested that Joshua had never probaly had reactions to insects it was staph all along, o.k. but I have killed ants and mosquitos on him and noticed the same reactions which are red hot raised about inch dia. all around with small blister clear discharge and they itch.
What do I do, I dont know how to protect him and I dont know really what the cause is.
Pediatrician is trying to fiqure it out but Joshua was misdiagnosed about 6 times before ending up in Scottish Rite.
They placed a rod in the tibia and did nothing with the fibula. Now I have a staph infection. I was put on augmentin and now the doctor says the results of the culture will not be accurate. Is there any way I can find out for sure if the infection is in the bone or has contaminated the rod? My doctor wants to do surgery to replace the rod.
The blisters came back about a month after and then i did a culture and results came back three weeks ago revealing yeast and staph bacteria.I was given diflucan for the yeast for me and my girlfriend and augmentin 625mg for the staph.Meanwhile on treatment the blisters came back on same side of penis but moving closer to head of penis.My girlfriend also did a blood test-results came back a week ago showing positive Igg test.So i also did another blood test and am awaiting results.
So, yes your rash in the photo looks like chiggers to me too but could be something else (or part of the Staph infection). Maybe some of the Staph infection is probably resistant to some antibiotics and that is why it keeps coming back. You may want to get another culture.
As for the Lyme you need to get treated properly for this. I would see a "Lyme literate doctor" (LLMD). You can find one in your area on www.ILADS.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

After a month of drainage and 1200 mg. of augmentin for 10 days, there was no improvement. When I arrived at the hospital, i was immediately given IV vangomyacin, and dilautin?1mg-2mg every 60 min. I was kept overnight with the presence of strep and staph infection via cultures and blood. I was sent home after 2 days with a diagnosis of VRSA. I was sent home with doxycyclone and pain meds to take every 4 hours.
Secondly, a doctor from the Middle East has published a recent study in a peer reviewed journal that followed 20 patients with GM and he claims that they were all cured using a specific antibiotic regimen (6 weeks of augmentin, followed by 2 weeks of metronidazole (400 mg three times a day). I know that we've all been on antibiotics for long periods of time, but has anyone stayed on the same antibiotic for six weeks?
For the past 4 or so years I've had ongoing sinus infections. They last months at a time and I always end up having to get antibiotics for them. I have seen an immunologist/allergist and a range of doctors but nothing has ever helped. I am only ever cured of the current infection and then I will catch another after a short amount of time. I spend about half of any year sick. I am 20 years old and otherwise in good shape, however I find it hard to be active when I'm constantly sick.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but we have been on a series of Septra and Augmentin since I posted. I took him the same day. Doc was thinking the same thing, sebaceous cyst, staph infection, or some other type of infection. So, we have been giving anti's and it seems to be going away. Again, thank you so much for replying. Well, your results will be interesting. You can have an infection that isn't MRSA or staph. My only experience with staph was my son who did get a nasty staph infection from a small rug burn type of injury on his leg at school. He bandaged it himself after showing it to me and I didn't really worry about it. A week later, wowza. It was a festering crater. We went to the doctor who gave a topical antibiotic cream.

It may be Augmentin or it may be something else. I think you should mention this to your doctor.
4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.
no I dont think so because the original culture was just e.coli...can you get strep/staph utis?
if anyone has ever experienced anything like this I beg you to post because I honestly feel like I cant carry on with my normal day to day life with this brain fog and the docs are just like you have had a UTI its no biggie.
anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.
ve ever taken (intra-nasal included) have come back NEGATIVE with no signs of staph of strep. Now this is really strange, because it suggests that this skin problem may not be bacterial. But antibiotics I've taken in the past seemed to help so what's going on? I've also have had blood tests done to test for auto-immune problems, which also came back with nothing.

I got the augmentin 400-57 suspension on Saturday afternoon. It is now Tuesday evening. It has been at room temp this entire time. How critical is refrigeration?
1) although not preferred, will the Augmentin regimen clear me of anything?
2) how soon could I be accurately tested for STD's?
so I took my STD test but before I got the result I panicked thinking of gonorrhea or syphilis and took Augmentin for 3 days. Now the tests are all negative but considering the window period for some STD, should I finish taking Augmentin as a precaution to get rid of the possible infection? Thank you.
My Dr has treated me with Metronidazole- brand name used was flagyl Nylstatin for yeast, clamycin,spandnox (for yeast), and recently had some relief with Augmentin(which was prescribed for a chest infection). When i was on augmentin all the above symptoms went away however came back 1 or 2 days after i came off the anti biotic.
If you were on penicillin and it did nothing after 48 hours or so, then you should go back to the doctor then. Penicillin has resistance associated to it and they will often use Augmentin if penicillin doesn't work because it has an added agent to it that makes it have much less resistance. I wouldn't wait too weeks and call your doctor when it is 72 hours past when you started the antibiotics. Is it your throat or your skin that is infected?
was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. However, this UTI is hurting so badly!!! If It is too risky then I can`t take it!!!! Please help me.
Because I had been previously diagnosed (and treated with 1000mg Amoxicillin three times daily) with a sinus and left ear infection about a month earlier he suspected that I could possibly have some type of resistant sinusitus and prescribed Augmentin XR (1000 mg) 2 pills twice a day. I had oral sex again with the asymptomatic guy again on 4/11. I was informed by the guy who developed gonorrhea of all this today, 4/14, and have not had sex with him since before his symptoms began.
