Help me I had a skin culture done for Bacteria and it came back with
1) Klebsiella pneumoniae ( HEAVY GROWTH )
2) Escherichia coli ( HEAVY GROWTH )
Now I have taken Augmentin xr for 2 wks along with Gentamicin ont no change in skin color still red and when water comes in contact gets redder! So doctor now has me on Augmention 875 and gentamicin cream the dosage is augumentin 2x day and gent cream 4x days !
However, last week of Februaru I developed white spots at the back of my throat. My doctor said it was strep and gave me Augmentin which reduced the appearance somewhat but not completely. I got the covid vaccine astrazeneca, got a fever and the white spots increased once again (even worse). My doctor gave me Augmentin again for a week along with flucanazole. I’m at the end of the course of treatment. The white spots have decreased but some are still there.
I was wondering if anyone else has taken Augmentin. I was prescribed it for a double ear infection. Originally I was given acetic acid drops but they aren't working.
I plan on calling my OB in the morning to double check. They are pregnancy category B. Although they are thought to be safe not many studies have been done on them. I'm nervous about everything. This is my first pregnancy and I am only 18.

Lantus can be left unfridgerated for weeks at room temperature and not be spoiled, as long at temperatures are reasonably cool, and the liquid remain clear. This is not, of course recommended. And not desirable. On the other hand, it will lose effectiveness, which means you may not be able to precisely titrate a dose. It's kind of expensive, so there is no need to discard it for such a short period without refrigeration.
she does not keep the pens that are being used, refrigerated, only the unused ones. Although even though they are not kept refrigerated, they do seem to keep her blood sugars under control. I wonder though if they were refrigerated would that make a big difference? I will call her physician if necessary. I only see her once a week, another nurse sees her the other 6 days.
I think I just screwed up. I gave my dog Clavamox that was NOT refrigerated. Is he going to be ill???
I am not sure why they bother to run the culture if they are going to give you Augmentin anyway...Oh well. My guess is that this is a viral infection, your description is more consistent with that. The two medications, Augmentin and Valtrex, do not interact and there shouldn't be a concern with taking both. I just doubt you need both.
4 days on augmentin 825 for a chronic dental infection (now a bone infection), I started having major swelling in my hands. This is new, I've never had swelling like this. Yesterday my one hand looked freakishly red and swollen. It was so swollen, that when I straightened out my hand (which was difficult), everything turned white, inbetween the redness.
Anyway, I tried going off the augmentin (I'm taking it in conjunction with clindamycin), and today I feel much less swollen.

It may be Augmentin or it may be something else. I think you should mention this to your doctor.

Strep can be resistant. Amoxicillin unless in high doses or mixed with clavulanate acid (making the brand name Augmentin) can be ineffective and the azithromycin add on really sounds like an odd choice to treat strep. Call your doctor and tell them you are not improving. You normally start to feel better within 48 hours on an antibiotic with lessoning of symptoms (always take the full course of the medication though even if you feel better).

Well, Z-pack is pretty useless here. Mucinex...probably not much help. Ibuprofen is fine, but again, if it's not helping with the pain then your doctor is doing you a disservice by making you suffer.
Augmentin was a better antibiotic choice. There is a fair amount of resistance to Azithromycin (Z-pack) secondary to its popularity among providers...
1) although not preferred, will the Augmentin regimen clear me of anything?
2) how soon could I be accurately tested for STD's?
I go back for another blood test in June .... my ast was 74- not sure about my alt - I don't drink ever:
I had been on the following:
augmentin ( 10 days) 25 days before blood test
niquil nightly for around 5 nights - same time as above
zocor
tylenol pm for about 7/8 nights
16 senekot ( senna) tablets over about 3 weeks
Any input is much appreciated - I have had my blood taken for 5 years every 6 months prior w/ no problem - all within range

anyone else have side effects AFTER STOPPING augmentin after the full 10 day dose? I have been off for two days and have awful sweating and hot flashes. I am male, and in relatively good shape. bp has been in the 140/70 range for three days. odd stuff. Ive usually had plain ole amoxicillin, but this stuff takes the cake.
Hi Vance, thank you. I tested 2 days after symptoms, they are mild and I am quite sure it's not syphilis, but still burning a bit when peeing. That's why I would finish with Augmentin, do you agree? What problems could I have by taking Augmentin if I have no infections at all? Thanks.
I'm not sure bout it being refrigerated but I know it can stay in the freezer for a couple of months
s, yeast, etc and can not find a cause. All swabs and urine tests have come back normal. Except for a low growth of Group B strep. The discharge has a burning sensation, I have stomach pains, pain sometimes with sex, painful periods, excessive lubrication with sex.. There isnt a stong odor however.
Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition. Do not want to start up any seizures. However, this UTI is hurting so badly!!! If It is too risky then I can`t take it!!!! Please help me. If the medication doesn`t go with my seizure condition, then please tell me what the safest antibiotic would be. Thank you!!!

Chemotherapy, especially in the doses you had. But 10-15% are resistant. Augmentin xr has not been studied for its effect against pharyngeal gonorrhea, but in the doses used for strepStrep throat , it probably would cure it.

I got the augmentin 400-57 suspension on Saturday afternoon. It is now Tuesday evening. It has been at room temp this entire time. How critical is refrigeration?
Please, i'm hoping someone can answer this. For the past 5 years, my enzymes have been tested 2x a year by by cardiologist as routine - they have always been perfect. So, they have been perfect for 10 tests! Now my ast is 74 - I think alt was normal. What is going on ? Could i have hep c and they've been normal for ten tests and now show up? Novalog insulin vials have an expiration date stamped on the side. Unopened insulin loses their efficiency once this date is reached, even when refrigerated.
