Angiogram of kidney

Common Questions and Answers about Angiogram of kidney

angiogram

Avatar n tn s case the CT angiogram may also be considered risky because of kidney problems. His kidneys may not be able to deal with the dye used for CT angiogram. I am not a doctor so here I am just giving advice based on my on experience.
Avatar f tn Plavix is to be taken with precaution in presence of kidney problems. Cozaar is to be avoided or taken with extreme precaution in CHF. This along with low blood pressure could have prompted your PCP to stop these drugs. For a person to have an angiogram he should be medically in a condition to tolerate the procedure and the dye used. Before doing an angiogram the doctors will do an EKG, an echocardiogram and/or chest X-rays. This is a tough situation.
776302 tn?1241091853 Gidday from SuzanneTay. In OZ Australia @lyme_lady. I am terribly sorry firstly to hear u have very cruel "Lyme Disease". Plus complications from the Angiogram. I am deeply sorry to hear this, and this goes for any or ALL people affected by a ANGIOGRAM.
Avatar f tn Can this cause scar tissue and or cause any further damage to the heart or vessels? I am 37yrs old with Diabetes of 33 years. No high BP and kidney function is well.
Avatar m tn TVCAD I underwent this test after I had some pain in the left region of chest above heart. After this test, I started to have lots of medicines including the medicines for BPH & HBP also. But the occassional pain on exercise or exertion was there as usual. Then I stopped all medicines except medicines for BPH & HBP since last 10-11 months. Still the condition is same.
Avatar m tn This is angiogram showing aorta, its branches and renal arteries and kidney outlines are seen. renal vessels provide blood supply to the kidneys.
Avatar m tn I do have a fake front tooth that they like drilled up into my gums and put it in there by like a wire or something like that, that was done like 12 years ago.I'm a 25 year old otherwise healthy male, here the past 4 days I've noticed that I've been having a very strange taste in my mouth that will not go away no matter how often I brush my teeth. My appetite is horrible, I force myself to eat once a day, I've lost about 7 pounds.
Avatar f tn Generally, for discussion only, and not any advise, you may want to forgo an angiogram and stent implant. The basis would be improved symptoms, as the degree of physiologic response to luminal dimensional change may be assessed by correlation of exercise capacity (your symptoms improved by exercise testing?) with quantitative measurements of the obstruction diameter at the lesion sites.
Avatar n tn So the stents are not to blame, but what medication are you on? Some of them will cause kidney problems. Been there, done that.
Avatar n tn I had an angiogram 7 weeks ago with no sign of blockages, yet I am in constant pain, which worsens when I try to lift. I cant even walk fast and am exhausted, dizzy and nauseated. I had only chest tightness and and mild pain before the test, but was exercising and working, now I am leaving the house only to go to Dr.s appointments.
Avatar n tn I've had numbers of problems with my kidneys in the past. In 2007 I had kidney failure and never went to see a doc due to not having insurance. I now have a heart murmur. I went to see my primary doc to see if i should get an agiogram, he said not to go now but wait till you get insurance and get it done. I wont have insurance for another 2 years due to pre-existing conditions. Im worried that I may in fact have a coronary block and should go get it looked at.
Avatar n tn I waited on my fiancé during his angiogram, 1 hour of waiting and 3 hours of supervising from the nurses then home we went
654298 tn?1230403407 Aside from these, a series of laboratory and X-ray tests, as well as an EKG, will be completed to screen for kidney function, liver function, hepatitis, heart disease, lung disease and past exposure to viral illness. Urine testing will also be done to make sure that your kidneys function normally. In addition, medical clearance for pre-existing conditions, will need to be submitted to the living donor team for review. Other tests may be necessary depending on the results of these studies.
Avatar n tn I had a recent Lexiscan due to shortness of breath and no angina with results abnormal. I already have 12 coronary stents, the latest in Sep 2013. The scan revealed a small fixed apical defect, reversibility is noted, involving the inferoapical wall extending into the inferior lateral wall. The impression stated it was a small infarct, ischemia seen involving the inferoapical wall extending into the inferior lateral wall. My echo cardiogram was normal, my ejection fraction was 61%.
Avatar n tn when we took her to the hospital they said she had a mild heart attack and after performing the ECG they realised it is not the first one but rather the second one but the first one went unnoticeable ( they called it silent). Her cretanin level is very high and her kidney is 60% damaged, there is also water retention in her lungs, so they said that taking an angiogram test would be risky, as it will damage the kidney further.
Avatar n tn org/wiki/Metformin Contraindications Metformin is contraindicated in people with any condition that could increase the risk of lactic acidosis, including kidney disorders (creatinine levels over 150 μmol/l (1.7 mg/dL),[47] although this is an arbitrary limit), lung disease and liver disease. According to the prescribing information, heart failure, in particular, unstable or acute congestive heart failure, increases risk of lactic acidosis with metformin.
Avatar m tn I agree, of course you would want an explanation of the results of an angiogram. Unfortunately, due to very busy schedules of cardiologists, this is not always possible. Surely there is an appointment with a cardiologist scheduled?
Avatar n tn I was put in CCU with a tropnin level of .28. After angiogram and other tests, I was diagnosed with Coronary Microvascular Disease. It may be something you would be interested in reading about.
Avatar f tn I am 44 and diagnosed last year with CHF? 11% of my heart working...symptoms just get tired when working or playing...Dr not very positive...Mom's freaking out...but life continues on until it quits...
Avatar n tn BACNS, or benign angiitis of the central nervous system, is one type of primary angitis of the CNS (PACNS). There are a few types of PACNS, including GACNS (a pathologic diagnosis made by biopsy), and BACNS, a diagnosis which is made by angiography (a procedure whereby dye is injected into the blood vessels of the brain and they are visualized).
Avatar n tn They did an ECHO stress test and found some blockage in the back of my heart. They then requested me to do an Angiogram for them to see better in to my heart. I did and I was sent home after 4 hours. They said I am OK. Thats all. I saw my cardios letter while I was with my own GP.
Avatar m tn Some are left dominant where the LAD and LCX supply most of the back of the heart. Some are right dominant where the RCA does this job. You simply have a dominant right side which supplies the back of the heart and I believe probably the AV node too. It's really just the way your plumbing is made up and is of no concern at all. Your LCX will be a relatively short vessel compared to someone who is left dominant because the LCX comes from the LAD (left anterior descending).
Avatar m tn Has anyone had an angiogram with the catheter inserted in arm or neck instead of the groin? I don't think I could take the groin without serious nerve spasms.
Avatar f tn d be doing without this forum everyone is so nice and knowledgeable.
Avatar n tn If there are blockages, a stent implant (usually done at time of angiogram) will increase the diameter of the occlusion/occlusions permitting more blood to the deficit area. Sometimes the area of blockage can not be stented because of location, tortuous segment, too long, etc...then a bypass surgical operation may be the only remedy. Alternatively, some people find relief from chest pain with medication.
