Common Questions and Answers about Amount of estrogen in yaz

Avatar f tn With all the commercials you see on TV about YAZ and Yasmin and all the problems it has caused, i cant imagine that the positives out weigh the negatives. Currently I am on Levlen birth control, it has the minimum amount of estrogen and it works wonderful! But because everyone is different, i would suggest doing some research on birth control types and find whats best for her, then talk to a doctor about those types you have looked over. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn A free t4 would really be telling in light of the previous use of YAZ, whose estrogen can cause the t4 to be elevated. I'm sure the endo will do the free t4 instead.
280418 tn?1306325910 t been on the pill in years). I started the pill (Yaz) this Jan. and now the migraines have really increased in frequency. I stopped the pill last night to see if they at least decrease in frequency. Does any research support an increase/onset of migraines with taking the pill? I am very tired of the migraines! Thank you in advance for any insight! PS...
Avatar n tn i am on yaz and i am supposed to start my white pills in two days..today i saw some blood in my underwear what could this mean? is this normal?
Avatar f tn She said maybe I should try to go off of yaz and see if that is casuing some of my problems. I have been itching all over so I don't know what that is coming from. Its like a allergic reaction to something. I thank you for your post.
Avatar n tn htm As you age , naturally your hormones change too. so a dosage of the same estrogen going in a year ago is going to be different another year. when you have a thyroid disorder even more imbalances will happen hormonally and the birth control will still be admitting the same estrogen as it did. It is totally logic sense - but you will have a hard time getting that though to a doctor.
Avatar f tn have them swith her BCP to a lower dose estrogen it may have too many hormones in it.
Avatar f tn I want to ask what brand and name of birth control pill best for breastfeesding mom?
484167 tn?1210001396 there are too many different brands of the pill to have one of them make you feel like ****. there are a lot of options...
1419937 tn?1302557849 That's why I started taking it. I don't know what's best, but I've heard bad things about Yaz (the one I'm taking). That it has twice as much estrogen than any other birth control and it will make you go crazy pretty much, have crazy emotions (in my case, crazier).
Avatar f tn I went off Yaz and started to notice weight gain after a few months, in about 2 years I gained a little over 40 lbs. I am absolutely miserable. I've tried dieting, exercising, and nothing has happened. I don't fit into any clothes, I hate my body and I have no idea what else to do. I had my hormone levels tested and my testosterone is a little high (45pg/ml).
976978 tn?1248769300 sleeping pills(for insomnia),small amount of Adderall(in order to function) and a SNRI(for pain and depression) All my thyroid tests(TSH,T4,T3)always came back normal so I never took any thyroid medicine. Past labs also showed extremely high Cortisol serum level & extremely low Serotonin(not sure of current level) 2 months ago my symptoms worsened(esp depression, insomnia, muscle aches, painful cold/tingling hands&feet-in summer!
727136 tn?1231182664 I do agree with Cherie that you need to have your hormone levels checked. Sometimes estrogen out of balance with the testosterone can cause cystic acne. Maybe an increase in estrogen preferably estradiol. I am so sorry you have had such a hard time. I hope things get better soon.
Avatar n tn Since that time I have gained 17 pounds (although none of my eating or exercise habits have changed), have only had two menstrual cycles, increased fatigue and great amount of hair loss. At my doctor exam they said my thyroid was in larged and order blood tests and an ultrasound. There were 3 small cysts found on my thyroid and my TSH was 2.89. Since I has been discovered that my mom has Hasimoto's my antibodies were tested. They came back positive.
519035 tn?1348275773 I stopped yaz at the time of my diagnosis of Hashi's 2 years ago. My doc took me off of it as soon as he wrote the scrip for Synthroid. Good move. I also have a fibroid diagnosed at the same time on ultrasound. My swings really depend on where I am in hypo. I just started a whole week early without ever having a clue I was close. I usually have a migraine and mood swing and am 26 to 28 days, now I went 20.
Avatar f tn I also saw a very minimal amount of bright red in my discharge today. Could this be implantation or regular spotting while on Yaz? I have also been having diarrhea since the day before i had brown discharge. Could this be the cause of the spotting?
Avatar f tn I asked for yaz and started that one, it helped a lot but my mom wanted me to switch because of the recall so I tried lo-estrin 24 and I started bleeding all month again. I continued to see my OB GYN but I started to hear the same answers but not an answer to fix my problem. I had a pap done and it showed abnormal white blood cells and I was told it was cervical cancer. A biopsy was never done. I lost my insurance and stopped seeing a doctor. I can't afford it.
Avatar f tn I stopped Yaz because it made me feel funny and decided to deal with it by taking loads of pain medication every time my period came. Now, the last year and a half I have been experiencing pelvic pain when I sneeze or cough, if I turn or twist a certain way, when I stretch.... it's a very sharp, breath taking pain for a few seconds and then discomfort for a few minutes. Lately though it even hurts out of the blue if I'm just walking - not often but it happens.
Avatar f tn ve seen commercials that say YAZ has been recalled or something because of potential damage and users need to stop.
405998 tn?1222396217 Hi, sorry for all your trouble. my daughter is 19 and she started on yaz in may of 08 for pms, she loves it. said she could tell the difference in her cycles the very first day. that's all the info I have on it.
Avatar f tn I went off of it about 5 weeks ago because of 10 days of headaches culminating in a migraine. I went off Yaz immediately after the migraine (and my doctor agreed that was a good decision). Therefore, I went off Yaz mid-pack. In general, I do not react well to BCP. I had been on several when I was in my early 20s. I swore them off for a while, but went on Yaz when I started getting spotting between periods and I wasn't having a period for 3 months at a time.
Avatar f tn Do fat cells secrete estrogen? Do I even need estrogen replacement? I used a bioidentical progesterone cream in the past. I was on Yaz birth control before the surgery. Without that I was practically psychotic.I am more miserable now than before surgery. I cry A LOT. My family is sick of me and I am sick of me. My doctor doesn't explain things. Will excercise/supplements etc be enough?Where can I turn for info?
Avatar m tn Is there any difference in the contraception effectiveness of Yaz in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome? If so what are they?
Avatar n tn s on has a supression of menstration side effects or it could supress the production of estrogen, or even the thyroid could be effected because it can control libido/ in concern of the sexdrive, and it could be both. I'd consult the pharmacist or a physicians desk reference for implications of the medication and known side effects. I've found research always helps.
Avatar n tn s thin and active with no family history of any kind of clotting problems. I was on Yaz for six months before developing bilateral pulmonary emboli. I was in ICU for 3 days, the hospital for 2 more and am on blood thinners until October. My hematologist hasn't found a thing that predisposes me to clotting. Look around the internet. It seems like there is an unusually high number of life-threatening Yaz problems. You might want to think twice about this drug. I wish I had.
