Accutane rosacea

Common Questions and Answers about Accutane rosacea

accutane

Avatar m tn t flushing then, passed to second who decided rosacea without flushing symptoms (started me on accutane); 3rd dermatologist told me the flushing was only a side effect; the 2nd derm who I saw after the accutane treatment told me it wasn't rosacea and just a side effect. I have seen acupuncturists who have said its not rosacea because when i start freaking out my cheeks and sides of the face flushs and not the T-zone.
20851793 tn?1537398597 I just started a week ago accutane, and my face broke up like crazy. I have huge red cystic acne all over my chin, cheeks, and my face hurts. My doctor gave me prednisone today, so I am hoping that helps. I have rosacea as well, and I see even more red than before. I was told you should not drink while on those these prescriptions but a little is ok, unless binging you should just skip a dose... is there a way around this? I do enjoy my happy hours? Why does it take so long for accutane to work?
Avatar n tn Steroid rosacea is possible. I suggest stopping all steroids, by cream or by mouth. Topical antibiotics like metronidazole may help. If you weren't on Accutane, oral doxycycline might be useful, but you can't take that while taking Accutane (which may itself help if you finish off the course and don't use steroids any more.) This rash may take some time to heal, but it should in the end go away completely. Milk and food have nothing to do with it that I can think of. Best. Dr.
Avatar m tn Clobetasol is a very high potent steroid....yes., accutane is a temporary relief to clobetasol induced rosacea like acne... your skin becomes addicted to steroidal cream...With the stoppage of steroidal application your skin undergoes a withdrawl stage which shows papulo pustular eruptions....I strictly recommend u to undergo chemical peels for 6 mnths(monthly once)(salysilic and glycolic peels alternatively) and apply hydrocortisone(for 5days after peel) as post-peel cream....
Avatar n tn I am 28 and have had rosacea for about 1 year now. My skin is severely dry, tight and flaky. My cheecks are always extremely red. Rosacea sufferers are not supposed to use exfoliaters, so how am i supposed to get rid of the dry flaky skin? I cant use cover up because it only highlights the dead skin and i dont like going out in public with my skin all red and flaky. HELP. I dont want to take antibiotics. Does anyone know of any natural remedies?
Avatar m tn Need some advice... I'm 32 years old and I've been diagnosed with papulopustular Rosacea a year ago.. Nothing really helped (antibiotics, metro cream, noritate, elides..) until I tried soolantra cream which cleared my forehead, nose and cheeks and almost all of my chin. I was taking orthotricyclen since 15 years and was told to switch to Diane 35 for better results because it seemed to be more of hormonal acne...
1155893 tn?1263018015 Hey, My dermo gave me Retin A cream to go along with my accutane. She said it would help clear up some of the dark spots I had on my skin from the acne. Will this help? What is this stuff usually used for ?
Avatar n tn Now it is back and just as bad as it was prior to Accutane. My dermatologist said that typically for someone with my condition Accutane isn't prescribed but since it worked before she thinks it would work again. I am not sold on the idea of taking Accutane as it's side effects are numerous and I am trying to have a baby. I would like to figure out what is causing this and how to get rid of it once and for all. Any advice would be appreciated!
Avatar m tn i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
Avatar n tn I have undergone 2 4 month courses of Accutane. The first starting in Aug of 2006, and the 2nd in Aug of 2007. My question has less to do with acne and more to do with a skin disorder that only surfaced after using the tane. Shortly after my 1st course of tane I developed a case of scalp folliculitis. It dissapeared completely during my 2nd course of tane. To my surprise the scalp folliculitis has returned even after the 2nd course of tane.
Avatar f tn i tried accutance , 40 mg for 8 mnths .... Accutane magically cleared my skin ... free of acne ,,,, but my Skin only stayed Acne free for a year... I was suggested to take another course of Accutane which i did , another 6 mnths which lead to another acne free year .... and NOw my Acne is back again .... and I dont know wat to do abt it .... COnsidering the high risks associated wd accutane ...
Avatar m tn As you have red areas and postules, it may be an allergy of some sort, or Rosacea. Rosex is a metronizadole cream helped my Rosacea. I was getting sore red skin with spots. Importantly, the skin complaint need to be identified as to exactly what it is. I can see you suffer from acne, but sometimes you can get a diiffernt skin complaint as well.
Avatar m tn I had seborrheic dermatitis for 7 years now and because of that i had to use Corticosteroid , but unfortunately i did not know about the side effects of that and i used it on the scalp and bear for many years , now that i am 31 i was diagnosed with rosacea, i was wondering can this be steroid induce rosacea and if yes would it go away.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with rosacea by my familiy docter. I have the 'classical' rosacea on my cheeks. But i also have 'hyves-like' (i thinks, my family docter thinks 'rosacea-like') things on both sides of my head, behind my ears, on my chest, and onder my hair (at the border hair-skin). It doesn't itch or hurt. But it's not going away....
Avatar n tn I've only been on Accutane (actually, a generic brand of it) for ten days, and I experienced my first migraine on day 9. I am unsure if the migraine could be connected to Accutane, but I did a little research and some instances of migraines have been reported by Accutane users. I am just uncertain because I haven't been on it very long, but I am already experiencing dry lips, so I suppose I could be experiencing other side effects already, too.
Avatar f tn Hi. Accutane increases the risk of liver problems so avoid too much alcohol whilst taking this medicine. Eloise.
