Accutane nausea

Common Questions and Answers about Accutane nausea

accutane

Hi there.. I am currently on my way to the 2nd month of my Accutane course. I take 10mg 3x a day for my acne. On the first month, I was experiencing rashes at the back of my hands, dry lips, nose bleeds and other minor symptoms. But now, as I'm approaching my second month. I have these weird feeling in my stomach.. It is not painful in any way but it make me feel very uncomfortable. I feel full and it is always bloated. Should I be worried about this? Thanks.
Taking both can increase the risk of high pressure in the skull leading to headaches, nausea and vomitting. Accutane can take up to 24 weeks to work, so please be patient. Do not take tetracyclines at the same time and seek medical attention about your symptoms. Please let me know that you're ok.
hi, i withdrew from accutane after using it for around 5 weeks or so because I started getting headaches, dizziness and such. I also lost weight, around 5 pounds.. After 2 days of the withdrawal, I start to feel extremely dizzy and nauseated. I took Gravol to ease the senstation but it worked for worthwhile. I had intercourse around that time too. I'm also 18 days late for my period... I took a test, it said negative. I'm a little worried,, is it because of my withdrawal of accutane?
hi i been doing research about accutane + proteins vitamin a, and there was some mixed opinions i was wondering .. if milk has about 80 mcg and the protein i drink has 130 mcg(which is 17% of your recommended daily intake. so milk + protein = 210mcg = 2 and a half glass of milk then it shouldn't be a problem right ? if i drank lets say 4 shakes a week, which is equivalent to 10 glasses of milk a week. I'm hopping and thinking maths wise it shouldn't be a problem ?
Isotretinoin, Accutane in the USA and Roaccutane in the UK is considered the "gold star" acne treatment when other treatments have failed or relapse has occured. With all medications you need to weigh the expected benefits against the potential side effects. Accutane has a high success rate with about 80% of patients needing only one course lasting 16 weeks. Some patients may have to take 2 or 3 courses. The potential listed side effects are numerous, but most of them are very rare.
I was wondering if anyone out there is getting really sick from accutane. This is my second cycle. The first time I had NO side effects, and it was great. I had perfect skin for three years, and then BAM, acne worse than ever! Now I'm on 80 mg/day, up from 40. I was still breaking out after 3 months, so I went to get more, and my dose was raised to 120 every other day and 80 on the off days. I decided to wait a few weeks to up the dose.
i am a 36 year old with 2 children and also in the last year been suffering with headaches and the last few weeks dizziness and nausea. i am very worried thta something is wrong with me and have a unsympathtic over worked doctor who makes me feel no better.can someone give me a answer please?
is it ok that i am given antibiotics with accutane for two months for my acne?
Nausea and vomiting can be due to both Accutane and also due to migraine. “Always take Accutane with a full glass of water to prevent the capsule from melting in your esophagus (food pipe), causing irritation. Do not chew or suck on the capsule. Swallow it as quickly as possible. Take Accutane with food or milk.” This will prevent or reduce vomiting due to the drug. Refer: http://www.drugs.com/accutane.html Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted.
Accutane is a retinoid, and not related to anti-biotics so the side effects are different. However, the list of potential rare side effects of accutane is long and includes headaches, nausea, muscle pain and depression. More commonly, the main side effect is dry lips and skin. With any medication, the expected benefit of treatment must outweigh the potential side effects for it to be worth it.
I've been on accutane and present some worrisome symptoms (severe pounding headaches, dizziness, vision blur, sometimes nausea), but my opthamologist saw no papilladema, so at this point it's kind of a mystery as to why I have been experiencing this for the past month. I have been off accutane for a month now. I did get prescribed glasses to see if wearing them reduces symptoms, but I'm just very nervous about this!
You have to agree to be on the contraceptive pill before they'll give you accutane anyway as you must not get pregnant on accutane. You may find the dianette clears your acne on it's own, if not go on accutane. If your doctor is offering accutane s/he obviously thinks your acne is severe enough to warrant it. Severity is not just about how bad the spots are, but also about how much they affect you. A course of accutane lasts between 16 and 24 weeks.
Towards the end of the second month on accutane I suddenly started getting really intense headaches that to me, seem like a migraine. It's happening at least a couple times a week now. My vision kind of suddenly started getting blurier and I now have difficulty trying to focus and refocus my eyes. With this I also experience pain in my eyes. I have this whenever I get the headaches and sometimes without a bad headache.
Oral antibiotics are widely prescribed for acne and are generally well tolerated. Most people can take this type of medicine without problems. Oral antibiotics can cause nausea or diahorrea, especially at the start of treatment. Discontinue use if you have signs of a serious allergic reaction (hives, rash, swelling of the tongue or fingers, closing of the airways). There is no way of knowing how a medication you have not taken before will effect you.
I have had stomach problems for 12 years and someone suggested I quit eating gluten. My stomach problems are gone; no more extreme bloating, pain, nausea or diarrhea. When i do eat gluten my stomach problems hit within half hour to an hour. I also notice that when i accidentally eat gluten my skin breaks out with abnormal blemishes. They are deep and filled with fluid. When I squeeze them fluid squirts out. Is that probably another allergic reaction?
Usually I will wake up with my head throbbing. I was on accutane for about 2 months (60 mg), but stopped over 3 weeks ago and am not finding relief in my symptoms. I went to an opthamologist today and got my eyes checked out. Because of accutane and even my birth control, he was worried about the possibility of pseudotumor cerebri (as my dermatologist was).
These problems, apparently, can show up YEARS after having taken the Accutane. I don't know that the Accutane could explain ALL of your symptoms, but it very well may explain the GI issues and I would definitely mention it to and ask your GI doc about it. You could probably also read more about what I'm talking about online - I'm guessing google something like Accutane lawsuits or Accutane GI problems.
Oral antibiotics are generally well tolerated, but can cause nausea and vomiting in some patients. (If the patient is female the next thing we'd try is an anti-androgen contraceptive pill such as Yasmin). If a fair trial of the above medicines results in failure or relapse, oral Isotretinoin ("Accutane") may be considered.
I have done some reading, most reviews and SE are dizziness, headaches, nausea, stomach cramps. I had none of that, except what I explained above. Further reading brought me to an article dated 2004 that Minocycline can cause depersonalization. Rather late article, but I felt that I was reading how I feel. Some reviewers said their symptoms went away within two weeks; but this was not their symptom. I cannot loose studying time, as I am in nursing school.
And if so, what partularly are the issues. I have read all the material on Accutane, and realize it has been on the market or tested for 20 years. Are there any long term risks for males? I certainly do not want to subject my son to serious health problems down the road. Thank you.
1 Also my stool was a brown two tone color and kind of loose. Periods of nausea especially will eating or brushing teeth. I am concerned about all std's like HPV, Herpes, and HIV. I don't think this is herpes because it has been like this for some time and very slowly getting more noticable. It does not itch and is pain free. On December 14th, 23rd, and Jan 19th, 22nd cbcs normal. I have only had one diarrhea episode on jan 21 and vomiting after brushing my teeth on jan 20th.
It's been 18 hours, and I feel fine except for a little nausea and queasiness. That means I'll be okay, right? I'm not having any serious side effects. I'm a 23-year-old female, 5'6", 115 pounds. Thanks for any advice!

I went dizzy, nausea, spins, projectile vomiting. I vomit so hard, blood vessels broke, and face is spoty. I saw stars literally. The vomiting stopped but then, diarrhea started the next day. I ate little. I had bad diarrhea. The next day, it was nonstop diarrhea. It woke me up. It's going on and all day and into the night. My stomach hurts. I am worried about Crohns disease cause I took Accutane before and noticed periods of fatigue randomly. I have missed a lot of work cause of this.
Basically I'm s********** Medications for Chronic Conditions Women with chronic conditions should speak with their providers before becoming pregnant so they can agree on appropriate medications. They should never discontinue their medication discussing it first. "In cases such as diabetes, hypertension, or asthma, patients can become very sick without their medication," says Dr. Lund.
5 months [10mg and 20mg], I was clear the first week of accutane already! During whole accutane curation I didnt had a single pimple on my scalp! I almost forgot what folliculitis is! But right now it's 7 months since I finished my low dose accutane course and my scalp folliculitis came back FULL FORCE. My whole scalp is RED, extremely itchy, inflammed, i got like 10-20 pus-filled itchy pimples. Skin on my head hurts and sometimes it's hard to sleep. Also my hair has thinned drastically.
s Recently for about a little more than 2 weeks I've been experiencing random instances of NAUSEA where all I want to do is lay down or else I feel sicker. Sometimes it would happen for no reason at all or after being in the car. Also I've been URINATING FREQUENTLY and just peeing out water, and having CRAMPING in that lower torso area. I feel BLOATED sometimes too. There have been moments where I felt really TIRED and a little FATIGUED and I would nap often.
Ok, here goes...In 1999/2000 was put on tetracyclene for acne. Went on accutane for 20 weeks in '01 (was also put on propecia at same time so as not to lose hair caused by accutane). Throughout accutane period all my monthly blood test came back normal. Few months later went back to doc because I was very tired after I ate lunch on a normal basis. Did blood work everything was normal except slightly lowered platlet count (roughly 130-140).
I have been fighting scalp acne for over 2 years, very annoying & embarassing when I go to the hairdresser. I have been to the dermatologist for this problem but the Tx course he prescribes is Tetracyline or other Cycline antibiotics & these cause me awful nausea & vomiting. I have tried various shampoos & have found that Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree oil shampoo & tea tree conditioner give me the best results.
