Accutane and nose bleeds

Common Questions and Answers about Accutane and nose bleeds

accutane

Its good for curing acne but wreakes havoc on your body. I now get nose bleeds randomly, and my body is always dry and flaky. It's dangerous especially if you plan on having children one day. I could cause brain damage and deformities.
on the first month, I was experiencing rashes at the back of my hands, dry lips, nose bleeds and other minor symptoms. But now, as I'm approaching my second month. I have these weird feeling in my stomach.. It is not painful in any way but it make me feel very uncomfortable. I feel full and it is always bloated. Should I be worried about this? Thanks.
accutane is a sort of Vitamin A and it reduces the secretion of oil in our skin and helps renew skin more quickly. It is only one brand of isotretinoin. accutane or any brand of isotretinoin cannot be used during pregnancy. It cannot be used without prescription because it is life threatening. It is only prescribed to patient with severe acne that did not respond to other treatment.
accutane side effects are real, however you do get use to them and if your healthy they are not as bad. I watched my brother on accutane and he told me it was so bad he would never go near it again. I'm on it now and I'm in my 6th month, side effects are livable. The derm wont prescribe it unless you have tried other methods first.
I took accutane in the fall of 2004 and I experienced severe hair loss. (I'm a girl). My hair came out in handfulls for about 6 months. The large amount of hair that usually falls out after washing or brushing hair was falling out every half an hour if i ran my fingers through my hair. I lost about 60% of my hair. It stopped for a few months and started again for a few months to a lesser degree though. And now, 3.5 years later, it stills falls out more frequently than it should.
Ok, so after years of trying to beat the acne on my back (We did sylacillic acid, benz somthing acid cream, tetracycline many times) and with no result, my doctor (not a derm odly enough but he never referd me to one) decided to put me on accutane, Im totally fine with the dry lips and skin, the sensitivity to sun and nose bleeds, hell i would even fight through the depressions(i dont have that symptom) if it would fix this acne on my back.
For me everything really dried out my scalp, lips, face even the inside of my nose. I would get nose bleeds from how dry my nose was. The first time I went on accutane it really worked after I stopped it came had to go on another round, but eventually it came back. Been struggling for years with it. I follow a simple routine that really helps and I take no prescription for it. I don't think you have rosacea trust me accutane really dries you out.
so far my acne has gotten worse and i'm having side effects such as extremely dry/peeling lips and nose bleeds. i know these side effects are normal but what has been bothering me is that last week i had a sty or something similar on my right eye and it was swollen and painful for about 2 days. this morning i woke up with the same eye almost swollen shut. i wear contacts and have been taking them out when i have these problems. my questions are: is this a side effect of the isotetrenoin?

accutane is known to cause problems in skeletal system of growing teens. I took it around the same age as your son and had severe pain. I called "Rosche" the company that makes accutane and they said it can stunt growth in teens by closing the epiphyseal plates prematurely. I'm 21 now and my height of 5'7'' hasn't increased since my last cycle of accutane. I also remember having severe joint and muscle pain after HS tennis practices. - 21 male.
I will tell you side effects from the accutane in the 1st few mons. Dry lips, nose bleeds and aches in body... Then in my last month, thats when things got worst... I started to get EDGY, AGGRESSIVE and MOODY. few months after the accutane my Acne started coming back and then before I knew it I was at the Dr.s and saying how I felt and he says I have GAD puts me on Celexa and Xanax. I am now on Lexapro and Xanax.
I'm on accutane now and my dosage just got increased from 40mg to 80mg and since, I've been having some side affects; headache, dizziness, nose bleeds and some other stuff, so I'm coming off of it.
I occasionally get a mole like feature on the left side of my nostril (more like right on the curve where my cheek ends and nostril begins). If I scratch at it, or pick off the top layer it bleeds for a long time. I'll have to maintain pressure on it or a little blood will continue to trickle out. Generally I would think this was a zit, but the size and the bleeding are unlike any zit I've had before. Has anyone ever heard of this?
Hi I had accutane last year and I have severe stomach and digestive issues. I cannot eat lactose, fructose and gluten! Every time I eat anything I get bloated right away and feel ill for the rest of the day. I have to eat such a limited diet to avoid all these issues. During my dosage I had dry skin, more digestive issues, increased anxiety and stress.

I'm getting the side effects of nose bleeds and dry lips. I'm on 60mg a day. How long does it take to start working?
I had just finished a course of accutane when i had a small pimple on my nose--one day when I got out of the shower it was bleeding a little, but I shrugged it off thinking my skin was just being extra-sensitive from the accutane. Over the course of about a month it has gotten bigger and now it bleeds really easily so it won't heal--it doesn't seem to be a pimple anymore though since it isn't hard.
I had the same thing with the Yaz. I was on Yasmin and switched to Yaz and promptly gained about 5 or more pounds. No problems at all with Yasmin, and I was on it for 5 or more years. I still work out like I did on Yasmin, and I've never eaten a lot, although, the Yaz does make me hungry all the time, and I can't seem to get rid of this bloating. I spot constantly and cramp. I have another friend that is the same way.

Try the steady skin care for the am and pm give it at least 4-6 weeks. You will see great inprovemnt If not then may be go the accutane route accutane is particularly good for the deep cystic type of acne. i experienced the typical dry lips and plams, nose bleeds and slight hair loss. acutane was a miracle drug for me... my face was acne free for over 10 years. Now at 30, i am on actuane again to clear up mild acne. I'm about 3 months in and am experiencing boughts of depression (mild to extreme). i didn't have this problem the first time and wonder if any adult acutane users also share this problem.
I am 18, and have finished taking accutane. My face is much clearer and because of that I have more self confidence. Not only do I look better, I feel better too. The dry skin was kind of bad but that has past. I have recently seen some bad publicity of accutane. In these cases they say that a few teens are getting depressed because of it, but I wonder how many other teens had no problems and now are happier.
I've been picking at my arms and face since I was a teenager (I'm 36 now). I did suffer from acne in college and went on accutane, which miraculously completely cleared up my skin and scars!! But as I've aged and recently had a hysterectomy, my skin problems have come back and now I'm more of a picker than ever! And I'm starting to scar, which has made me feel completely mad at myself. I can not stop.
Now, it has gotten worse over the past few weeks- dark red, cysts, pustules covering my face where my beard would be if I were a man. My t zone is basically clear. My nose is very clear and my forehead has the normal breakouts I had before- sporadic and hyperpigmented. (I'm Mexican and always hyperpigment for every little thing!) The new severe cystic acne itches like mad, is very painful and bleeds. I don't understand what is happening.
After discussing the side effects of Roacutane with another friend, he revealed that it can weaken the nasal passage walls and cause nose bleeds. My friend now thinks that by taking the Roacutane whilst also continuing to insufflate substances may have caused this accelerated damage of the septum. So my friend would like some help. Will the septum heal if he stops now, or is it too late? How much of the septum has to be removed before it won't heal and surgery is needed?
Also I have tried, salycylic shampoos, tar shampoos, jojoba oil, AND nothing seems to help. Please help me and my hair. I am a busy college student, who unfortunately does not have the time and money to deal with this.
Chapped lips Dandruff Dry skin and itching Dryness of the nose, nose bleeds. Irritation of the eyelids Rash Headaches Nausea Blurred Vision Mood Changes Stomach pain Rectal Bleeding Skin yellowing Joint and muscle pain. Delayed wound healing. Hair loss... (Occuring years after the drug is discontinued) Increased sunburn, less excretion of melanin. Decreased night vision. Okay, if those minor side effects aren't bad enough... this may convince you otherwise. Depression, suicidal thoughts.
This acne has progressively gotten worse over time and still persists (mainly on my forehead, nose and chin). I also got it on my back and chest at first but that has gone away now. After a few months of suffering I finally went on Differin and has helped but not all that well. I still always have breakouts and the medicine only helps them pass more quickly.. I cannot believe that I am still dealing with this and it has severely lowered my self-esteem. I thought I could wait it out..
sometimes i think it's supplements i'm taking and other times i'm not sure. didn't have it for a while and now it's back again. sometimes i get eczema around my nose area and i think it's that. most times it starts in my office where they used to smoke inside and now smoke outside. but as long as i don't have a tumor i'll live with it.
