I do have a weekly lesson on my mare and during the lesson we always get her going in a nice forward trot and ask for canter in the corner of the manege, if she does strike off on the wrong leg, then i bring her back to trot and ask again until she strikes off on the correct lead.I will read the article that you have supplied and practice on my next lesson.Out of interest,what kind of horse do you own? and what do you do with your horse?

For the last 4 months or so Ive had a thickening of the skin over my right axillae. I has a huge abscess in the area which resolved spontaneously after antibiotics. I noticed the irregularity in my skin soon afterwards. The lump hasnt increased in size but it wont go away either. Any thoughts??....thanks.

Typically if a abscess forms you take antibiotics,and if it's bad enough they have to also be drained,you can't really "cut out" an abscess,at least not without taking healthy tissue with it.
Your grandmother should receive a pelvic exam to determine the cause and extent of the abscess to determine the correct treatment,a small sample may also be taken to rule out cancer beings she is post menopausal.
An abscess is basically a build up of pus and infection in the jaw bone area. I assume that since you've seen a dentist recently, it probably would've been spotted at your last checkup as they generally develop from large cavities. There are abscess that also develop from gum disease as well but assuming you had a cleaning and check up, thats also a little more unlikely. Best to get it checked out and taken care of.
More specifically it is called Amoebic Liver Abscess. The abscess, if it is one, is relative small and can be cured by antibiotics. No need to go in for aspiration. It is 100% curable. Also go in for a blood test along with a liver function test to test the levels of the enzymes.

Either your husband has been bitten by something or you have developed an abscess. If it is an abscess it will need to be drained. Take an anti-inflammatory analgesic like ibuprofen and an anti allergic and see if that helps. If it is an insect bite, it will improve. From what you are describing I would think it may be a Bartholin's cyst or abscess. The Bartholin glands are in the lower portion of the vagina and while the cyst isn't supposed to be painful, the abscess is and I would imagine if the cyst were big enough it would hurt. You may want to see your gyn about this. Also you can google Bartholin's cyst and you will get a lot of information.
Over the past couple days I developed an extremely painful abscess. In an attempt to clean my mouth using coconut oil the abscess burst. I believe I didn't swallow any of the liquid leaking out and throughly rinsed my mouth with salt water and then some hydrogen peroxide. The conus and cauda equine appear unremarkable. At L2-3, there is perhaps slight retrolistthesis of L2 on L3. Disc bulge. Right greater than left moderates exit foraminal narrowing. At L3-4' mild broad based disc bulge. Facet joint hyper trophy. Mild bilateral exit foraminal narrowing. At L4-5, disc bulge is seen with facet joint hypertrophy resulting in moderate left exit foraminal stenosis. Impression: slight retrolistthesis L2 on L3.
Hi I woke up and felt a lump on my cheek (right) , I can't see anything in my gums and on my cheek it doesn't look swelled up , though you can definitely feel a lump

Most likely this horse has been tied to a post to try to "break it" from being head shy. These very old and barbaric methods of breaking a horses will often cause them to be afraid of people, very head shy for the rest of their lives. It is sad.
You can really help this horse! We had a horse very much like this and she is now showing very well. But even today we are very gentle and careful around her head.

Hi, lump in the gums above and adjacent to the teeth most commonly can be tooth abscess or fistula opening due to infected tooth. You may just check out any frank cavity or food imapaction area in related teeth to the swelling. In such case you may need antibiotics and root canal treatment of the affected tooth with the help of a dentist. Other possibilties could be pyogenic granuloma, fibroma, periodontal abscess etc. Check out with local dentist to confirm.
