abilify thyroid

I did some blood test and my thyroid antibodies are not working properly, the other blood tests are not ready yet. Is it possible abilify cause thyroid problems or the drug is causing it not to work properly?

I have been on Zoloft 150mg for about a week and feel more agitated, nervous, anxiety and still depressed so my psychiatrist just added Abilify (5mg) and Remeron along with a thyroid RX to my Zoloft 150mg. Hi I've recently had like no sex drive for awhile now and I'm wondering if its because of my meds I'm on. I'm currently taking synthroid, and abilify, lamictal, extra calcium, potassium and magnesium because my perithyroid was damaged during the removal of my thyroid. I am on zoloft which does not help with my anxiety, does adding abilify help with the anxiety and the depression?

There is no reason you can't take Abilify with Zoloft. I take Abilify with several other medications. It started working within 2 weeks and my depression decreased dramatically. One common side effect of Abilify is akathisia, a restless need to move. I have that but added propranolol and it stopped it completely with no other side effects.

I tried Abilify with my antidepressant. After a few months on Abilify, my anxiety was actually worse. I noticed that the Abilify caused me to be agitated and restless (like I couldn't get confortable or sit still, kind of jittery) Abilify is really ment more to aid in the treatment of depression than it is anxiety. It's designed to be used as an antidepressant add on drug to give a bit more antidepressant punch rather than an anti-anxiety punch. Bad idea I think.

I dont think Abilify works for depression alone. I ran out of my effexor xr (antidepressant) and only took my abilify and was a real mess for a week.. It was as if i werent taking anything. The abilify doesnt work alone in my case. Its only a booster pill, so to speak. I was tearful and restless without my antidepressant. However that could have been withdrawal or something.

I mix seroquel and abilify without issued only the Abilify has finally gotten my appetite under control and im losing weight Seroquel causes weight gain but nothing like the weight gain with Zyprexa.

my 10yr old son has been on a regimen of 1300mg lithium and 5mg abilify since age 7 due to aggresive behavior towards family and self mutalation.Was hospitalized at Walker Art,Needham Mass to get satabilized..meds worked for the better part.He was recently taken off abilify 5 wks ago-the past 3plus wks he has returned to his behavior not seen since age of 7.Drs wanted to try him on triliptal which been on over wk now,nothing has improved more so worsened.

I certainly remember from taking it. Abilify is the least sedating out of all the antipsychotics currently available. You could ask your psychiatrist about that. However, its less of a mood stabilizer so you might need to take one in addition and generally Lamictal is the least sedating out of the mood stabilizers in conventional use. You could speak to your psychiatrist about that as well.

Hi I have been on 5 mg of abilify and also klonopin since jan..09.Recently i have been having severe dizziness.,y ear hurt so wen to dr put me on antibotic...Abilify has helped my depression so much but im wondering f it would start causing dizziness after being on it since jan 20 09...

with no research on the effects of abilify on children how am I to know whether this medicine will endanger my MR adhd 9 year old child .he is also on strattera.

When I was on Abilify although it was helpful I experienced some anxiety and agitation and insomnia. Some of those issues are not uncommon as Abilify unlike other antipsychotics instead of being sedating can often be activating. Is that some of what you are experiencing?
