abilify and weed

I have been on the combo of 450mg of wellbutrin and 40 mg of abilify for over 5 years now, probably more. I love it!!!! It has changed my life for the better. It sounds like you have an anxiety disorder as well. I do as well. I take 1mg of zanax twice a day or prn. Also, i have had narcolepsy for over 5 years. Thats a real pain to deal with! i take alot of stimulants and brain transmitting meds for that as well. it sounds like u might need to have a sleep study done by a specialist.

Weed, klonipin, and abilify feel damn good in moderation. Less body high but I like that. No tingle. I'm just couch locked. Other than that I would think you're golden. Just don't go overboard. Makes me personally get stuck in my head or depression.

So 4 weeks ago i tried nothing but smoking weed for 2 weeks and it helped me wonders. I was happy and go-lucky..i didnt fight with my parents like usually do and my mood was great. I had no suicidal thoughts and i was very optimistic. I got TONS of my schoolwork done and i did very good on it. So now ive been back on Abilify for 2 weeks and my moods are HORRIBLE! I'm irriatable, angry, depressed, suicidal, and for the first time i feel Homicidal! ALL THESE FOR NO REASON!

risperdal and abilify but i had the problem before i used it i think but at that time i smoked weed daily. Will this be permanent or will i benefit from exercising, QUITTING SMOKING and drinking?

I know what you mean - I just got put on Abilify and it chills me WAY down. I feel glassy all of the time now. I do feel better since I came down from mania (I was manic for over a month - causing the necessity for Abilify....), and I'm ...well, not manic (not sure what this state is but it's DEFINITELY not manic). I find it easier to tell people that I used to have a drinking problem than "I have Bipolar Disorder"....

What you experience may be quite different from what everyone has posted. You might take Abilify and find that you have no side effects and it helps you and you will continue to take it. You might find that you get side effects that you can't tolerate and then you will quit it. The only way to find out is by trying it.

I am on 90 mg of Cymbalta and just started 15 mg of Abilify for depression. My doctor has titrated me up on the Abilify gradually. My question is for anyone who take 15 mg of Abilify for depression. Have you experienced any side effects? When you're depressed and trying to get your medications right it just isn't fun. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

As he took the Zyprexa for about a few weeks, he experience negative side effects of weight gain, feelings of emptiness and drowsiness. He is a vegan and he use to smoke weed on occasion. He recently was thinking about smoking weed again instead of taking zyprexa, he has already stopped taking zyprexa because he was scared it was doing damage to him. Just to clarify, are you saying that you are taking marijuana rich in CBD to relieve your symptoms?

I have only started the Abilify so far on day 3 … I was supposed to start together but I dropped the pristiq bottle and pills fell on floor now because of contamination ocd I can’t take them and insurance won’t pay for a refill yet so doctor says just take the Abilify for now , I’m noticing it is helping me to change my behavior versus the ssri just kinda helped me manage my existing behaviors but never had courage or motivation to change my behaviors so I’m hoping that’s where Abilify will come

Hi I have been on 5 mg of abilify and also klonopin since jan..09.Recently i have been having severe dizziness.,y ear hurt so wen to dr put me on antibotic...Abilify has helped my depression so much but im wondering f it would start causing dizziness after being on it since jan 20 09...

Hello, I took abilify for five years, One thing is that when you take ablilify it is added with another medication usually, and i lost all of my hair while taking it but not because of they abilify, it was from the depicote or what ever-eles i took, but after i got off the depecote, my hair grew back my hair is growing now, but if you havent took it very long you may be having other side effects like the shaking, i will say that dose go away and you get very much better..

There is a connection with taking Abilify and acne .

Did you ask your pharmacist if abilify and ambien and any other meds you might be taking, including OTC meds, might be interacting to cause you to feel like this? Sometimes pharmacists know more about adverse drug interactions than dr's. Just a thought.

Are you saying you were put on Abilify before you were put on Celexa? Because if you've only been on Celexa a few days, Abilify wouldn't be appropriate. It's only a last resort medication because of its side effect profile and because it isn't known to work by itself, only in combination with another med. If, for example, you have depression, and you're on medication and its helping but not quite enough and you've tried everything else, that's what Abilify is for.

When I looked up weight gain and bipolar medications, Abilify was at the bottom of the list for weight gain, Geodon people gained the least then Abilify. I'm on 2mg. of Abilify and in the begining you tend to feel sleepy, that's why they start you on it at bedtime. I would be surprised if Abilify caused a racing heart but you definately have to tell your doc about that. I was also on Wellbutrin and had to come off because it caused to much anxiety.

Now the abilify, I was suppose to increase from 2 mg today to 4mg, I wanted to tknow if 2 mg was a thereaputic dose and also can I take have of that and take 1 mg since Im so sensititve and that might work, Its been keeping me up at night the abilify, makes my mind and body racy and alert...Waiting for my dr to call back, but sometimes that doesnt happen......

Any medication can sometimes take a week or two or longer to take full effect while some will take effect instantaneously. It all depends on the person of course. When I took Geodon I sometimes would "drool and stumble" figuratively for the former (felt really dumb some days) and literally for the latter (dragged my feet and sometimes felt drunk).

I have just started taking Aripiprazole(Abilify) and have found it to have some beneficial effects on my mood. However I am also finding myself to be extremely drowsy. I have heard that this side effect wears off with time. Has anyone else experienced this? It's the first antipsychotic I've taken that's had any effect so I don't want to stop it but the fact I can literally go to sleep while standing up is making my life difficult.

I have not heard of antipsychotics being addictive but I do know Abilify is activating and can disrupt sleep. As well although its FDA approved for bipolar its primary use is as an antipsychotic so it may not be as effective as a standard mood stabilizer.
