abilify and vyvanse

we have tried several meds. currently he is on 50 mg of vyvanse, 40 mg of citalopram and 2mg of abilify a day. his behavior is beyond horrible. should i just take him off meds?

I am prescribe the Rexulti for depression/anxiety in conjunction with Prozac and Cymbalta. The Vyvanse is being added to treat my severe ADHD, I am the mostly inattentive type. I just want to be able to think and focus clearly. If this combo will still allow that I would be happy, if not than I may need to talk to my doc. Thanks for any responses.

I have always suffered from major depression and a mood disorder even though they don't come out and say it's bipolar, they treat is as such and it's helped. I've been on Abilify for a year now and I was doing so well but now I'm tired all the time, have no motivation, and feel overall blah! I see my pdoc next week and I wonder if I need a new mood stabelizer or a higher dose of Abilify.

Well, it was not the Lithium that caused the twitching, as I had a Lithium level drawn after stopping it and the Vyvanse, and my level was a little bit low, indicating that it had probably been at normal levels just a day or two before. Now I have a script for Concerta to replace the Vyvanse, I am just waiting on insurance's prior authorization. I am still on the Prozac and am back on Abilify. The twitching slowly subsided, as did the eye pain, nausea, and dizziness.

i used to be on prozac 60mg (up to 100mg) for about 8-10 years and switched to cymbalta which helps with depression, anxiety, and pain. you may try that. don't over take your xanax because you're right, it is addictive. don't take anymore than you're prescribed before talking to your psychiatrist, which i suggest you call today or tomorrow to make an appointment.

I have just been recently diagnosed with adult onset ADHD,I was prescribed 5mb abilify and 50mg Vyvanse. I was so glad to read your article on vyvanse because I was sooo scared to take it til today when I started. I needed the meds but didnt want my appetite suppressed like my son gets when he is taking focalin. What do you think about an 11yr old taking it? Also would it help with my son's suppressed appetite he has with focalin? Please help!

My 13 year old daughter has ADHD and ODD and is unmanageable in her moods and impulsivity at home. She has tried many medications that don’t do much. She is also in therapy. She is currently on Latina and it isn’t helping much. Any advice on medications that may help my daughters mood and attention in school without causing major weight gain?

I told the doctor, he thought for a moment that maybe we can try Welbutrin, but then he said instead lets continue with stronger vyvanse and add abilify in a small dose which he said we will test to see if it helps to stabilize mood. all of this is sooo new to me. So, I get prescribed Vyvanse and nothing - just extreme tension and irritability. I see him again and he offers to subscribe me Lamictal for my "disorganized thoughts". Now, I am a case manager in the mental health field and he knows this, so he is aware that I know what the Lamictal is for. I still say, no oh no, and I get a prescription for Focalin. And it seems to help a bit with my memory and all. I look on the internet and explore Bipolar - thinking I have missed something.

i also have adhd that i take vyvanse 50mg for and that helped with my anxiety a great deal. i take abilify 30mg for mania, i am also bipolar along with the adhd and anxiety. anyway, it sounds like you aren't really being treated for your anxiety, talk to your psychiatrist asap and explain the situation. you could talk to a psychologist or therapist to get things off your chest and maybe for some suggestions on how to better manage your condition.

yes, my psychiatrist prescribes me vyvanse for adhd and xanax for anxiety as well as prozac for depression and abilify for mania.

He has took metadate,straterra,and daytrana and had terrible reactions to them. He is taking vyvanse now but it is causing him to have hallucinations and very bad tics where he will jerk and shudder and make noises out of the blue and they are getting worse. No dose seemed to fit for me. But, I lost the weight I was needing to lose (20 lbs) and if I go off Vyvanse, will it come back on with a vengance? I have heard hunger just is out of control when stopping this drug. So I am afraid to stay on it and I am afraid to go off it.

What you experience may be quite different from what everyone has posted. You might take Abilify and find that you have no side effects and it helps you and you will continue to take it. You might find that you get side effects that you can't tolerate and then you will quit it. The only way to find out is by trying it.

I checked for side effects for Vyvanse but aside from stomach pain, and diarrhea no other relatable side effects were shown. I was curious if anyone taking this medication or similar type of medication has experience this or been able to manage this issue.

I am on 90 mg of Cymbalta and just started 15 mg of Abilify for depression. My doctor has titrated me up on the Abilify gradually. My question is for anyone who take 15 mg of Abilify for depression. I have only started the Abilify so far on day 3 … I was supposed to start together but I dropped the pristiq bottle and pills fell on floor now because of contamination ocd I can’t take them and insurance won’t pay for a refill yet so doctor says just take the Abilify for now , I’m noticing it is helping me to change my behavior versus the ssri just kinda helped me manage my existing behaviors but never had courage or motivation to change my behaviors so I’m hoping that’s where Abilify will come
