abilify

1258608 tn?1269552597 The tremors could be dystonia which is a temporary movement disorder caused by some medications including antipsychotics. The Klonopin and Propanolol should be treating that. Propanolol is a beta blocker so that sometimes can cause depression itself as it slows down heart rate. Think when the depression and anxiety began and your psychiatrist could see whether medications aren't treating it or may potentially have worsened it and adjust and/or change your medication as appropriate.
Avatar n tn Now if you are still on an antipsychotic of any kind and the muscle stiffness (dystonia) and motor restlessness (akathesia) gets worse as the dose goes up those are standard extra pyramidal side effects which are temporary. What antipsychotic are you on now if any? If tardive dyskinesia were ever considered as a criteria Clozaril would still be an option.

1221258 tn?1267542429 I've just had Abilify added to my cocktail of Lamictal and Clonazepam, hoping that it is going to lift me out of the current depression. Basic not wanting to get off the couch, go out, brush my teeth, talk on the phone, get out of my nightgown, and feelings of hopelessness. ( standard depression stuff ) Just, this has gone on a long, long time. I only get up, bathed and dressed if I have an appointment out of the house. Otherwise, it's me and the dog. That's it.
Avatar m tn The doctors in the ward treated him with several medications including Prozac and eventually Abilify and Respridol and those types of Anti-psychotics. I'm not sure why they gave him the anti-psychotics but they did. With drug and behavioral therapy, He finally improved to the point where and they sent him home after about 3 weeks the second time he was in. He was getting back to a normal life until he started exhibiting an even more bizarre behavior.
Avatar m tn Tardive dyskinesia is generally treated with Mirapex, Bachlophen, Requip, Aricept and Botox injections for focal dystonia. Zofran has been shown to work experimentally as well as the natural remedy rhodiola (when taken under the supervision of a neurologist). Clonidine is patch form is markedly helpful for me as well as a person with advanced tardive dyskinesia in addition to some of the other treatments mentioned. But have a neurologist who is a movement disorders specialist confirm it first.
1109293 tn?1258329623 Cymbalta, Abilify, Wellbutrin, Lithobid, Lamictal, Tamazapan and thyroid meds Levoxyl and Cytomel. Oh, I forgot, we added Adderall XR for my ADD. It is hard to manage refills with insurance coverage, etc. You probably know the drill. I'm fed up with it all. My crying has stopped but I still want to stay in a bed in a corner all day long and not talk to anyone. I ran out of my Abilify and just stopped it cold turkey four days ago. I'm wondering if that will cause problems.
1255530 tn?1269867619 Yes these would be side effects of concern. Abilify and the related SDA antipsychotics can at times cause heart irregularities. Having trouble breathing (potentially) and having stiffness in your neck or back could be due to temporary movement disorders (if dystonia is left untreated a person could have trouble breathing, for that reason its best to have a side effect pill with you at all times, check that with your doctor).
Avatar f tn I do take Abilify, & thru it I have remaining doses of Lamictal too. The Cogentin they gave to me 'cause my lower jaw was going side to side when I was tired. Plus my hands were incredibly shaking 24/7.I was having some double vision & I felt tired when I'd take my pain meds. Which by the way I went off of as of yesterday! *YES* I have had the shaking ever since I had the 1st stroke. That is when I went from no meds to every one next to the sun.
Avatar f tn Linguofacial Dyskinesia, Oral-facial Dyskinesia, TD, Tardive Dystonia and Tardive Oral Dyskinesia. Have you been on any of these medications? If yes, then any one of them could be the cause of tardive dyskinesia. I suggest you consult your neurogist to change the medication Refer: http://www.schmidtandclark.
Avatar f tn The first doctor I consulted told me it was Dystonia and would most likely be progressive and get worse. After reading about dystonia I heard that it can be secondary to MS and some other neurological disorders, so I rang my neuro as I don't have a MS diagnosis but there was a big question mark as to if I might have MS.
Avatar f tn I to have cervical dystonia and now have problem with my balance and hand coordination. I have had numerous test and still no one can tell me what is going on. I do take botox injections for my neck but it doesn't help anything else going on.
712802 tn?1274645485 What you experience may be quite different from what everyone has posted. You might take Abilify and find that you have no side effects and it helps you and you will continue to take it. You might find that you get side effects that you can't tolerate and then you will quit it. The only way to find out is by trying it.
Avatar m tn I am on 90 mg of Cymbalta and just started 15 mg of Abilify for depression. My doctor has titrated me up on the Abilify gradually. My question is for anyone who take 15 mg of Abilify for depression. Have you experienced any side effects? When you're depressed and trying to get your medications right it just isn't fun. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I have only started the Abilify so far on day 3 … I was supposed to start together but I dropped the pristiq bottle and pills fell on floor now because of contamination ocd I can’t take them and insurance won’t pay for a refill yet so doctor says just take the Abilify for now , I’m noticing it is helping me to change my behavior versus the ssri just kinda helped me manage my existing behaviors but never had courage or motivation to change my behaviors so I’m hoping that’s where Abilify will come

603543 tn?1255294450 Did you ask your pharmacist if abilify and ambien and any other meds you might be taking, including OTC meds, might be interacting to cause you to feel like this? Sometimes pharmacists know more about adverse drug interactions than dr's. Just a thought.
