1855970 tn?1325823613 I know it sounds insane, but they literally smell like maple syrup. At work today, a coworker asked if I had pancakes for lunch... I havent had pancakes in like 2 weeks. I havent eaten any syrup in 2 weeks or more, and I havent touched anything like that. What in the world is going on with me???
Avatar f tn How much time we need to continue this medication? Any known side effects of Levipil for infants?
Avatar f tn Ok tried on the other forum and nobody is responding so maybe I'll have better luck here. Lastnight I couldn't sleep much because my nose was so stuffy, and then today my throat just feels super dry constantly. Is there anything I can take for my symptoms? I've done salt water gargle and saline rinse for my nose and neither one helps. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks!
Avatar f tn s twice daily. He also has me giving him 1 tsp of Dark Karo syrup 2-3 times a day mixed in his bottle for constipation(it's working). He has me giving him 1 tsp of Mylanta supreme as needed for the reflux and upset tummy. I am also having to add 2 tsp per ounce of baby oatmeal in his last bottle at night. So far so good, Conner slept from 10pm to 5am and isn't very fussy anymore. He is also finally having BM with the help of the Karo syrup.
Avatar n tn You can take robitussin cough syrup, just the original though no "DM" or other extra stuff. Zyrtec, claritin, and sudafed are all ok too.
5601615 tn?1383450616 Put a little dark Caro syrup with some formula in a bottle it will help her go, that's what they say to do with little ones
Avatar n tn My two month old son is having chronic problems with constipation. I tried breast feeding him but I had to supplement with a bottle and gave up after a month and went to all formula due to not producing enough milk (I have PCOS and was only producing about an ounce between both breasts despite frequent feedings and pumping.) When he was being partially breast fed, his stools were normal and of normal frequency and he was having at least one a day.
Avatar m tn When I have these episodes of constant throat clearing the only relief I get is from Tussonex cough syrup and this helps for about six hours. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I was taking plain mucinex for days without much help. And Tylenol. I finally called Ob and they said stay away from mucinex and take plain robitussin (which didn't make much sense to me..its the same active ingredientc(guaf).. But I followed orders) and sudafed(also plain - ewithout psuedo). Another week went by, only got worse. Finally got a z pack and cough syrup prescribed. Another week and I was better. 3 weeks sick altogether. Used humidifier at night and Vicks too. Good luck.
Avatar f tn 8. For infants over 1 month old only on breast milk or formula, add fruit juices 1 oz./month of age per day. Pear or apple juice are OK at any age. (Reason: treating a symptom) 9. For infants over 4 months old, also add baby foods with high fiber content twice a day (peas, beans, apricots, prunes, peaches, pears, plums). 10. Diet for Children Over 1 Year Old: 11. Increase fruit juice (apple, pear, cherry, grape, prune) (note: citrus fruit juices are not helpful). 12.
1666034 tn?1316911253 I had similar issues with Lexi. Her pediatrician said its normal to hear that congestion in their chests as newborns and infants and didn't bat and eyelash. She's ten months old now and still has it. she has allergies so she does take liquid zyrtec now, but I haven't noticed a difference. As for the constipation, we gave Lexi one ounce of prune juice and one half of a pediatric glycerine suppository.
Avatar f tn m happy to convey that she is not getting hives but itching is there still.Doctor suggested me to use the same XYZal syrup for 15 more days twice a day.Do we need to take her for allergy test still?
Avatar n tn My son has had a severe itching problem for about 5 years now. It tends to come and go, with episodes in summer, fall, and spring getting worse. He usually has small scabs from itching so much, his face and arms are covered with them. He itches in between his toes, fingers, head and legs. He has severe sleep problems because the itching is so bad. No doctors can seem to give a sufficient answer - we've been told food allergies.
Avatar f tn How old is your baby? A tummy massage usually works and so does "bicycling" baby's legs. For some infants, it is normal to go several days between bowel movements; and for some, several times a day is normal.
Avatar f tn Sudafed is on my list from my Dr of OK meds. It will help if you are congested. Claritin, zyrtec, or benadryl for runny nose. Tylenol for pain or fever.
Avatar f tn I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
Avatar f tn I used mucinex for 5 days in a row but every 24 hrs not 12 as directed and felt much better. ...are they allergies? If not try to take care of it asap before it turns into sinus infectiin...it happened to me @12 wks and had to be in antibiotics...I took the mucinex at 18 wks and gargled salt and warm water for the throat. ...
Avatar f tn my son is 11 weeks old and he went for five days without a bowel movement. i gave him a suppository and he had three small bowel movements. he then went 24 hours without a bowel movement and then had a very large one. it has now been over 36 hours since his last bowel movement. he is also breast feeding so i don't know what could be causing his constipation. any ideas?
Avatar n tn I ran across this forum while searching for information on Mast Cell Activation Syndrome with P.O.T.S. (positional orthostatic tachycardic syndrome). I have a suggestion. Some of you might want to try taking an H1 and H2 histamine blocker an hour before eating and see if that does any good. Benadryl is an example of an H1 and Pepcid is an H2, both available over the counter. Benadryl will knock you out if you aren't used to taking it. Zyrtec might be a better choice for an H1.
689528 tn?1364135841 s control, like this time of year ,he gets a prednisone per day for 3 or 4 days and then every other day for two or until things calm down. Zyrtec can be expensive, but we actually found a generic brand at the dollar store! $1. for 14 pills, so we clear their shelves! Our poor boy suffered until we found this new vet, every other night, we would do oatmeal baths, benedryl cream, benedryl pills, alcohol rubs, ice.. it was heartbreaking. We can totally relate.
Avatar f tn Can we just discuss the pros and cons for daycare for infants as early as 6 weeks? Im still uncertain of daycare for my newborn.
5028514 tn?1366828456 My allergies are pretty bad too but I just take binedryl because it's on the safe list
Avatar f tn Definitely drink more water, because both the antihistamine and tea and coffee will cause dehydration unless more water is drunk to replace the fluids. And, actually, it isn't the caffeine that is so bad about the diet soft drink, it's the artificial chemical sweetener that is so bad. That's a lot like drinking rat poison in small enough amount you might not notice unless you're particularly sensitive to the stuff like I am.
Avatar m tn I was able to see another GP yesterday who gave me a shot of Decadron (Dexamethasone), with Fexet 60MG (Fexofenadine) twice daily, an acyfylin syrup for cough. I felt great after the shot, my hives reduced significantly ithcing was still there but not as intense. Mentally i became my old self by evening, alert otherwise i wise sleepy and lethargic the whole week. But the rashes started coming back around 1AM night, I managed to sleep by 3 AM and now woke up at 9 AM.
Avatar n tn For many years, GER [Gastroesophageal reflux] during infancy and childhood was thought to be a consequence of absent or diminished LES tone [lower esophageal sphincter, which is sometimes also referred to as the Cardiac Sphincter due to its proximity to the heart]. However, studies have shown that baseline LES pressures are normal in pediatric patients, even in preterm infants.
