Zyrtec side effects stomach

Common Questions and Answers about Zyrtec side effects stomach

Avatar m tn The amounts you mention greatly exceed the recommended dose of one tab twice a day and raises the possibility of acute side effects. I know of no studies of long term side effects of using such high doses of Zyrtec alone but if you are taking Zyrtec-D that could pose significant risks from the pseudoephedrine. The best advice I can provide is that you discuss your question with your physician and raise with him/her the possibility of other medication options.
Avatar m tn Have you discussed long-term use of Nasonex or a similar mometasone steroid spray? They tend to work, are often used on an on-going basis, prescribed for infections and allergies, and provide effective relief. As for your question about Zyrtec - talk to your pharmacist (and your doctor - a couple opinions do not hurt) about the dosage you are taking and what the long-term side effects are.
Avatar n tn It works very well (I feel about 90% better) and I have no side effects. It says it is effective against hives as well. Also I saw these advertisements: www.hivotin.com and www.hivotab.com I really hope your problems will improve. Good luck.
Avatar n tn Help! Ok, I remember Rev making a comment about the side effects of ribaviron kicking in around week 7/8. I am in week 8 and this morning I woke up with this horrible rash on my left forearm and hand. It is bizarre looking and doesn't hurt, itch... nothing but ugly. I had this metallic taste in my mouth like I had sucked on iron all night It is still with me and I can't stomach the thought of food. My mouth is irritated, but I can't see anything wrong.
Avatar n tn Does anyone else have a problem where their doctor does not believe them when they tell them their PPIs are causing bad side effects for them? I've tried all of them and all caused extreme discomfort where I can hardly have a quality life. Prevacid was the least of all the evils but I still have extreme nausea and lightheadedness. I take the pill around 6 am every morning and the nausea tends to last till between noon and 2 pm.
Avatar f tn When I lie down to read a book with my son at night, I usually lie on my stomach, propped up on my elbows. Over the past couple weeks when I've done this, I get this sudden sensation of immense pressure in my head. The pain is primarily from the top of my head down to just below my eyes. I also hear "noises" in my ears....like wind blowing or something. It hurts to try and read to him, so I usually put my head down on the bed for a couple minutes, and it goes away.
Avatar n tn I try to squeeze it out and only a hard stool comes out. 5. The sweating stops and the stomach cramp subsides. I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.

Moreover although steroids have many side effects but they are very useful in cases of dermographism and hives. The doctors start with steroids especially topical ones and then shifts to oral ones. Alsothe dose of steroids is tapered off by the doctor. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn It stopped working after having the flu so he has put me on an antihistamine and decongestant combined, called Zyrtec D which causes stomach problems, breathing problems and keeps me awake at night. I cut the medication in half which decreased the side effects but then I got worse. Someone suggested nasal irrigation but when I saw an ear, nose and throat specialist 8 years ago he said I needed surgery but because it was not a guarantee it would help I did not get the surgery.

799323 tn?1238616344 One it could be the one of the medications. I was taking Zyrtec for allergies and it would give me stomach pains and I always felt like I was going to have diareah. I stopped taking it and the stomach pains went away. It might be one of her other medications too. I also suffer from migraines but this comes and goes depending on my medications doses. You might want to look into giving her a probiotic.

Avatar f tn I have had very few problems with the my other medications, like the antidepressant, Zoloft (50mg), and the antihistamine, Zyrtec (10mg). But I have started to notice some very disturbing and confusing side effects the same day I started taking this. On Friday, I had taken one pill in the morning and left to go to school (I had taken my other medications the night before). At first it didn't seem too bad. I was concentrating better and felt a lot more confident.

Avatar f tn I'm really anxious about taking medications for anxiety, but after having limited success with counseling, exercise, etc. only to be caught back up in another anxious cycle I'm giving an SSRI (Prozac) a try. After reading the VERY LENGTHY patient inserts from the pharmacy, I'm troubled by whether there are any 'unlisted' drug interactions or something like that that I'm missing. The doctor is aware of daily medication that I'm taking (ex.

Avatar f tn My allergist says that claritin might as well be a water pill for all it does for you. It also doesn't have the drowzy side effects you mentioned with the other. Even the generic is more expensive than the others though. I would also recommend sinus rinses if you aren't doing them already. You might try to get in with your primary and see if he/she will prescribe some thing like Nasonex and/or Astepro.
Avatar m tn Hello, Possibility of any drug causing hives or an allergic reaction can be there in an individual even if he was previously using it.Tramadol can cause itching, sweating, dry mouth, diarrhea, rash and host of other side effects. The other possibility is of exercise induced urticaria or hives. I feel that you should not take tramadol for some days and see if the rash disappears. You can shift to some alternate analgesic to which you are not allergic in the meanwhile.
Avatar n tn I was also taken off all other medications so side-effects from those are not the cause, either.
Avatar f tn I have allergies and just figured out that I have postnasal drip, eardrainage issues, and stomach issues due to the mucus.. I wonder will Singular work with this ? The last time I tried taking antihistamines I felt drugged. I have been enjoying the better relief with a nasal steroid I have been using twice a day, is this safe for long term use? I have tried all of the antihistamines around, none with a decongestant.
Avatar f tn I think this is one of those situations where the possible benefits outways the risk, especially if you keep in mind the option to discontinue if side effects are undesireable. About the behavior - prednesone can contribute to that kind of behaviot, as can generally not feeling well. It also goes with his age. The terrible twos are one thing, but the horrible threes are quite another. However, you are the parent and he needs to be taught to obey.
Avatar n tn Paxil is a safe medication with relatively mild side effects. However, the only listed contraindication is concomitant use with MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors). MAOIs are older type of antidepressants. Taking both medication may cause hyperthermia, rigidity, mental state changes, etc. I would be cautious taking diet pills with Paxil because of the different products available in the market including "herbal" medications that claim to be "safe".

Avatar f tn She had to force herself to drink LOTS of water to help dilute the urine, which of course made her have to pee more, but overall reduced the pain. She was also on Elmiron for quite some time, but I don't recall it ever giving her any side effects. Be sure you check the list of foods/drinks that aggravate IC and avoid those when possible. Changing your diet to have as few aggravating foods as possible is probably the best thing you can do.
Avatar m tn Her 30+ health problems all went away switching to digestive enzyme supplements and betaine HCI with pepsin supplements. Nexium side effects are in the thousands and your symptoms may be due to this drug. I posted a lot of info on another thread about reflux and treatment options: http://www.medhelp.
