Common Questions and Answers about Zofran trade name

zofran

Avatar f tn No drug is 100% safe in pregnancy but ondansetron (trade name Zofran) is fairly safe. It does cause constipation. I would take it if I had severe morning sickness.
Avatar f tn If the doc won't give you nausea meds then vitamin B can help with nausea... I'm on zofran, my OB said it's safe, he's experienced as an OB, however; I've seen on this forum that other types of nausea meds are safer in pregnancy than zofran..also here comes tmi...I have had bad constipation from the zofran but it's a good trade to be able to eat and drink on the zofran.
Avatar f tn Having the name of a king isn't bad there are worse things...
Avatar f tn I was taking Zofran my first pregnancy from 4 wks right when I had found out to 6-7 months and my daughter was perfectly healthy. So far this pregnancy I have been on it since 7 wks and still taking it at 22 wks and my baby boy is growing big and healthy. It is bs that they called you, I would of went off.
Avatar f tn Ondansetron is Zofran hun. Its just the generic name for zofran. Even though theres a lawsuit, id say its more of a money maker. I took it both pregnancies and my babies came out fine. Youve got to look at whether the benefits outweigh the risk with ANY medication. If youre miserable and need to eat for baby, take it. My advice is try to only take it when u really need it, not on a regular basis. Stop as soon as symptoms ease up. Lots of water too.
Avatar f tn i had really bad morning sickness with one of my preg...i asked my ob to prescribe some med to help and she prescribed zofran....
Avatar f tn The only difference between generic brands and name brands are the name there is absolutely nothing else more or less in the medication when you buy name brand medication you are paying for the name and that's why the generic is so much cheaper and that's why most doctors prescribe you the generic because it's cheaper they legally cannot put any more or less ingredients in the medication just because of the name..
611067 tn?1458591483 Well, I probably shoudn't start his thread - but here goes! What do you think of Cap & Trade - it passed the house today! I COMPLETELY DISAGREE! It will cost all of us a lot of money and it will send big corporations to other countries and that is NOT going to fix the economy! We've already become a consumer nation rather than an industrial nation and that's one reason we've lost so many jobs - they've all gone to other countries.
Avatar f tn I take Zofran everyday..usually get away w/just one pill...4mg...generic name is ONDANSETRON... Avatar m tn So I just got diagnosed with excessive morning sickness. There is some fancy name for it as well but I can't remember it. This is my sec. Pregnancy and I'm 7 weeks along. I have been so uncomfortable for the past 3 weeks I can't keep anything down and I'm always nauseous. My doc. decided to have a nurse come out to my house once a week and give me fluids and today they are going to start a zofran pack. Anyone ever had this experience before?
2147300 tn?1369689688 Saw doc today, got script for zofran but forgot to ask how to use it. Can someone tell me when you are supposed to take it? Bottle says 3 times a day as needed but can I just take one now and then and how long does it take to work? 4mg. Thanks.
Avatar m tn I took Zofran but it was for an off label use not for nausea which is its general use. Although it does control nausea it can create it in a minor way so the best thing to do is eat food with it. And it can be a bit sedating. Long term for Zofran a liver function test is advised as was by my provider but that's true of many medications including what I am on now.
Avatar f tn Sofosbuvir-velpatasvir is the generic name also known as the International non-proprietary name (INN) or common name
Avatar n tn I take both zofran and phenergan ..I was getting the zofran at first but my insurance only pays for 12 and I can get 50 of the other if you wake up in the middle of the night take one it works best that way ...I'm 27 w and still have bad morning sickness some days are better then others ...
Avatar f tn Hey all what I understood is every drug has side effects irrespective what good they do to you. By weighing the risk benefit you must consume it. I took ondansetron in the name pharmaceutical name of Vomikind. I didn't know that it had another name Zofran.
Avatar f tn also that is the generic name for Zofran forgot to add that have a happy healthy 9mths.
Avatar f tn Hey, I noticed your comment & my OB/Gyn put me on Zofran as well but after I saw on the TV that it could & has caused birth defects I stopped taking it right then & there & called my OB/Gyn & told her about this. I had the exact same concern because I had been taking zofran for the first 20 weeks of my pregnancy & I'm now 29 weeks. She said there was really nothing to worry about, I hope she was right.. She then prescribed me something else.

Avatar f tn Hi again:) wondering what you take for morning sickness? I have taken OTC b6/unisom didn't help. Now on zofran but my good ins plan ends sat. Zofran without insurance using generic name, I can't think of it now but it costs 311.00 dollars without ins. You ladies know of an rx that is cheaper without good insurance since I will have to pay out of pocket. Thx for your time.
Avatar m tn t do it and you should try prescription meds. Most of us have had very good results from Zofran, though there are occasional people who get nothing but a headache from it. For me, Zofran is nothing short of a miracle. I can't take most anti-nausea meds – most of them only slightly reduce the nausea but very effectively render me nearly unconscious. Zofran comes in either 4mg or 8mg, and comes either as a pill you swallow or as one you dissolve on your tongue.
Avatar n tn At my first doc appt she prescribed me zofran for the nausea. I was super excited until I Googled it and started reading all these bad things and now I'm nervous. After a week I finally caved and took a dose which made me feel normal again, and finally ate and kept it down. Has any other mommies taken the medicine and everything turn out ok? I don't wanna take it but it's the only thing that helps.

1916673 tn?1420233270 Hi Tony, I personally used the following about a year ago, as prescribed by a Doctor. Found that it was RAPID and LONG LASTING and 100% effective. Haven't done any research or asked a Vet. All I know is, that it is EFFECTIVE and long lasting. The chemical name(s):: 'ONDANSETRON ODT'...4mg or 'ZOFRAN ODT'....4mg (Mfg.
