Common Questions and Answers about Zofran rx

zofran

1454858 tn?1306784378 ve read about though. Some women with HG have Zofran pumps they use and their babies come out fine. Zofran is also rated safer than Phenergan (It has a class C rating) and my daughter came out perfect even with how much I had to take. Don't let it get too bad though. No need to feel sick if you have the capabilities to feel better.
Avatar f tn My OB doesn't Rx Zofran bc of the cost. He said it's the SAME EXACT thing as taking Pepcid Complete and Unisom together (per recommended dosage of each). Totally safe and much cheaper if your insurance doesn't cover the Rx. Unisom is a sleep aid, but the ingredients combined with Pepcid Complete are the same as what's in Zofran.
Avatar f tn I am 25 weeks along with my 5th. I have been sick from day 1 nausea vomiting the works. I also suffer from severe headaches due to intracranial hypertension. Well I stopped taking my medication for the IIH because there was no telling if it would cause birth defects. I also held out on taking meds for the nausea until about 3 weeks ago. I had the rx for Zofran but wasn't taking them, I took the meds for about 5 days out of the 3 weeks.
Avatar n tn If you are asking this question, I assume you do not have an RX. Where are you getting Zofran from? PLEASE dont take old meds or another persons medications ever. Many drugs have very similar names. There can be mix ups, etc.... So please dont ever do that. It could be a big problem. In the mean time, chew some peppermint gum or drink some peppermint tea, or a seven up. Sometimes that gets rid of the nausea.
Avatar f tn t get your prescription filled at walgreens or the like. My zofran rx at walgreens was $155! At Costco for the same exact thing it was $28! But I didn't have health insurance so that made a difference.
Avatar f tn Hi again:) wondering what you take for morning sickness? I have taken OTC b6/unisom didn't help. Now on zofran but my good ins plan ends sat. Zofran without insurance using generic name, I can't think of it now but it costs 311.00 dollars without ins. You ladies know of an rx that is cheaper without good insurance since I will have to pay out of pocket. Thx for your time.
Avatar f tn I tried ginger ale, candied ginger, tea with brewed with slices of fresh ginger, and straight capsules of ginger. None of them touched my severe nausea with vomiting. I phoned my doctor's office when I threw up my Incivek pills one morning, and they responded immediately with a phoned-in Rx for Zofran.
4344342 tn?1353282035 What I do know us that you need to call your treating physician immediately (or their answering service) and ask them what to do now but also ask them to phone in a prescription right away for Zofran. In most cases that will cure the nausea and enable you to keep the fat and the pills down. It IS very urgent, as missing doses greatly increases the risk of the virus mutating to one that is more resistant.
1750760 tn?1411482476 m seen (Stanford) in the evenig and asked to speak to the on-call hepatologist. He phoned in an Rx for Zofran to my 24-hour Walgreens so I was able to start it right away. I needed it all the rest of the time I was on Incivek, but it worked like a charm, with no sx (I think that is rare for anti-nausea drugs - most of the others are very sedating, but not this one. I didn't have any more puking once I got that Rx .
Avatar m tn Call your doctor now to get an Rx for Zofran (Ondansetron) phoned in to your local pharmacy. You need to control the nausea because if you can't keep your Incivek down your treatment could fail. Even losing one or two doses to vomiting could put you at more risk of viral mutation and breakthrough. The Zofran is a tiny tablet that you dissolve on your tongue every 8 hours as needed and it works very quickly and without sx in most people.
1285651 tn?1319642429 they were only $8 at walmart and i was at the point i would try anything....my ob gave me an rx for zofran and i took those as needed but honstly nothing took the nausea completely away....
Avatar f tn Thanks ladies! My doctor gave me an rx for Zofran which helped a lot with the vomiting even though I still had some nausea. I was not able to get a refill though because of my insurance. I didn't realize how much it was helping, I'm eating bread and drinking clear liquids only but still not able to keep it down. It's so frustrating! I'm 13wks now and was hoping my morning sickness would be easing up.
Avatar f tn I am 38 weeks and I still get sick.
Avatar m tn Maybe her doctor could give her anu RX for Zofran? Not sure about age limitations.
589779 tn?1235125028 I too had to get a Rx for Zofran. It works for the really bad days! I have been nauseous pretty much since the end of week 5 and am now on week 9. It seems to be a little better the past few days, but by no means gone! I have been living on the blandest foods possible - rice, grits, potatoes, apple sauce. Lately I've been able to eat some biscuits in the mornings.
Avatar f tn I finally went to the ER on my OBs recommendation they pumped me full of fluids and gave me IV anti nausea meds and it made a world of difference also a Rx for zofran which helped a little but i still puked and felt ill. You have to experiment and see what works for you. For me it was potatoes, white bread plain nothing on it and ice cold watered down purple gatoraide. I also on occasion had a can of coke which settled my tummy.
Avatar f tn m not saying its not safe, just that safety has not been established. I personally am on Zofran which is a category B, there are a few other Rx ones as well also category B. As for OTC I know Benadryl is safe as is Dramamine.
Avatar f tn I feel for you. I've been taking Zantac 2x daily for reflux but doc has just switched me to protonix 1 x day cuz Zantac wasn't cutting it. I've had vomiting throughout this pregnancy due to hormones & reflux so I've been on and off zofran since week 8. Without the zofran I was dehydrated from vomiting so much & that was a viscious circle of IVs. If you're vomiting every meal you should definitely call.
1084115 tn?1385228589 When I started vomiting I asked for some Zofran. I should have asked weeks and weeks before. Zofran prevents the nausea that comes with chemo. My guess is that the nausea is from the interferon but perhaps also from the other drugs. Zofran works well to prevent thuis type of chemically induced nausea. Within a very short time of starting Zofran, I was back to eating real solid food again instead of just lying around feeling nauaseated, bloated, and ready to puke and ready to pass out.
Avatar f tn 4 - Finally, if it starts getting too severe, be sure to contact your OB again and let them know. You may need to have a rx like Zofran called in (I was almost to that point) Personally, I thought it all sounded a little strange but with as bad as I had been feeling I figured it was worth a shot. Glad I did cause it helped me so much and still is! =) I hope you ladies feel better soon and the nausea starts to ease up for you!
Avatar f tn I'm 7wks2 days and felt bad dr rx Zofran but said I would feel worse until about 12/13 weeks. Did they check to make sure ur not burning fat .
