zofran pump

Just was prescribed a zofran pump due to severe hyperemesis. I've had the catheter in my leg for 24 hours and find it very uncomfortable. While it is much better than being sick 24/7, anyone have any suggestions on dealing with the site?

I tried to take the pills but I was way to sick for that! So I have been on the Zofran pump (pumps Zofran into my stomach 24 hours a day) for the last 3 months. It's been "Heaven sent" for me! I lost 28 pounds in my first trimester and was unable to eat or drink anything for 11 weeks! Now because of the pump, I can eat anything and have gained 3 of those pounds back!

I had hyperemesis so bad I was put on a zofran pump. It was the only thing that let me function at all. My baby is 8 days old and is perfectly healthy.

Actually there isn't anything wrong with taking zofran... I'm actually on a zofran pump that administer the med to me continuously all day to help with my morning sickness... I'm 20 wks and my baby is doing just fine..

Any of you ladies have experience with a reglan or zofran pump? A nurse will be at my home shortly to hook me up to a reglan pump because of my hyperemesis. I hope this prevents any further hospital trips (3 in 2 weeks) for fluids and Iv nausea meds but I'm not too keen on the idea of having something constantly pumping medicine into me. I know that I need my nutrients and it's not good for the baby with all of this vomiting but how good could constant medication be either?

I have been on all three meds and was just about to go on the zofran pump when one day I wanted to see if maybe it was too much meds at once.. i stopped my meds and was great for 3 days then bad for 4.. so I started back on 4mg of zofran and have only been throwing up once a day at the most.. my midwife was a bit upset I just quit my meds but she said I know my body and if it's working then play with the meds.. this is my 4th pregnancy and my other 3 I was never sick.

As far as I know its been deemed safe for pregnancy. I had to be put on a zofran pump because I was so nauseous and vomited literally all the time. It got so bad I tore my esophagus a few times, and had to be in the hospital for fluids. That pump saved my life. I'm off it now, but still take the oral zofran as I need it. All my ultrasounds have shown that baby is perfect, and I did some hefty research before going on the pump, and couldn't find anything that said it caused defects.

I was diagnosed with Hyperemesis at 6 weeks pregnant (chronic nausea and vomiting). I lost 32 pounds in my first trimester and did not eat my first real meal until I was 16 weeks. Zofran saved my life!!!! The pills didn't work because I would throw them up so I have a Zofran pump that pumps Zofran into my stomach 24 hours a day! The doctor also has me on Reglan too; which pretty much does the same thing as Reglan.

So I was given a zofran pump and iv fluids once a week, and a dietician by my home health nurses. Alere is a great company and thankfully my insurance covers most of it. I still get sick and have bad days but it's way better than it was.

I understand your pain! At 6 weeks I was diagnosed with Hypermesis (HG). I could not keep anything down including water (which is not the best for severe nausea and vomiting so don't drink a lot). On my worse day I vomited 14 hours non-stop. When I was 1st diagnosed I vomited for 33 hours. I had severely dehydration, low sodium, low potassium, extremely low blood pressure and my body was starving. I was in the ER weekly for meds and IV fluid.

Has anyone been on the Zofran pump and IV at 11 wks pregnant? This is my fourth child and I have last 11 pounds in 3wks, and now I'm stuck in bed until my doctor gives the okay.

I went through the exact same thing, they finally had to put me on a zofran pump so that I could tolerate something on my stomach again. If you've tried everything else, that might be an option to look into. I was at the point where I couldn't even handle water on my stomach and kept ending up in the hospital for dehydration and that pump is the only thing that finally helped me.

I was so bad, I was throwing up the Zofran pills. So, now I have a Zofran pump that pumps the medicine into my stomach 24 hours a day. Although it can be a pain changing the sites (sticking myself with the needle) every other day and changing the medicine syringes every 12 hours. I agree that it has made a drastic difference!

I am almost 17 weeks and my dr put me on zofran pump cause I couldnt keep nothing down at any given day. Been on my pump a week now and im able to keep everything down finally.

I have a home care nurse, I'm on IV's and a 24 hour Zofran pump to stop the vomiting. I can't keep foods or liquids down. Everyday is struggle and a test of my faith!

Has anyone heard about the Zofran recall? Has anyone else been prescribed this drug? If so did your doctor warn you or advise you to stop taking it..My doctor prescribed it to me at around 11weeks..I stopped taking it around 17weeks only because I heard about the recall..I just wish my doctor wouldve warned me before prescribing me something potentially dangerous..had I known I wouldv'e never exposed my baby girl or myself to it..is anyone else in my boat?

Have you tried zofran? Zofran worked for me the 1st time then with this pregnancy it wouldn't and phenegren helped. Some people have to be hooked to a pump if you have it very bad.

t work for me , I kept throwing up and lost 18 lbs so they made me go into an IV Clinic every 3 days to get liquid zofran pump into my arm with 2 bags of fluids . But that stuff worked like a charm ! I felt so much better .

Try a zofran pump. I had to use one for 6 weeks during my second trimester and it worked immediately!

When I was 10 weeks the doctors put me on a 24 hour Zofran pump that automatically pumps the meds into my stomach. That has been working a lot better.

I have HG and had many trips to the hospital due to not keeping anything down. I would be put on iv fluids and zofran I was put on a zofran pump at 15 weeks till about 24 weeks! I still have sickness at 34 weeks I take one zofran odt a day and my little man is health as can be! I lost 30 pounds within 10 weeks but now past my starting weight! My sickness was so bad I lost 20 pounds. It had gotten so bad, I had to get a zofran pump and walk around with a tube in my stomach to keep me from getting nauseous, and to keep the zofran flowing. I was on that for a month and a half. It helps. So if urs are as bad as mines, inquire about that.

I have it I'm taking phenegan ( spelling is probably wrong) but that's been helping me a lot...i did the zofran pump but that didn't do much for me....HG is horrible hope you find something that works for you....

I'm a FTM and have been diagnosed with Hypermesis. My nausea and vomiting started at 6 weeks and has yet to end and I'm 35 weeks today. Although I've lost 32 pounds and have been on IV's my entire pregnancy for nutrition/electrolytes, Zofran and Reglan have saved my life when it came to decreasing the vomiting and nausea!!! The pill didn't work so I have Zofran pump that pumps the medication into my stomach 24 hours a day.

I have this too and now any minute a nurse isgoing to show up here and give me a zofran pump hope I dont have to have it the whole pregnancy.
