Common Questions and Answers about Zofran odt orally

zofran

1828249 tn?1320012338 If you have the orally dissolving pills then yes, you need to let it sit there. If its just the pill itself, it's fine to swallow whole. He could say to let the pill dissolve because it won't make you vomit, whereas swallowing it can make you sick and then you won't be able to take anything else for a few hours.
Avatar f tn also that is the generic name for Zofran forgot to add that have a happy healthy 9mths.
Avatar f tn I would be put on iv fluids and zofran I was put on a zofran pump at 15 weeks till about 24 weeks! Its hard being so sick but so worth it! Good luck hope you start feeling better soon! I began getting sick at 5 weeks and was put on zofran it didn't help I stayed taking another medication along with it I still ended up in the hospital 5 times. But I tell you this so you know you are not the only one!
8296559 tn?1397871519 Zofran is what my doctor gave me for nausea.
Avatar f tn I think 80% of woman go through that. I couldn't eat or drink anything either and lost 15 pounds. What worked for me was eating a piece of a corn muffin when I woke up or during the day.. it helped ALOT it was the only thing I could keep down. Also apples you can ask you're doctor for odt zofran.. its for nausea its a tab that dissolves in you're mouth and they have all diff flavors. That helped me a bit.. but it didn't get rid of the problem completely. Also no sodas or juice..
Avatar f tn s be clear about form of promethazine as it comes in a liquid mainly for cough medicine promethazine w/codeine (promethazine w/codeine syrup is highly abused in our country) plain promethazine syrp, promethazine vc syrp and pill form. Zofran comes in a liquid as well, dissolvable tablets (AKA odt), and regular tablets. I would ask my doc for zofran, my friend took it for her full 9 months, she had morning sickness her entire pregnancy 24/7.
Avatar n tn I started having nausea/vomiting/diarrhea after a trip visiting family in March of 09. It lasted until May then went away. This year it came back again only worse it seems. The nusea is continuous. I was given Zofran ODT to help with that but it doesn't last through the two doses I am supposed to take. I was also given Nexium to see if it would help with any kind of acid reflux or ulcer. I haven't really noticed a change with that.
Avatar f tn I never had hep A, but have considerable experience with nausea and vomiting, While on treatment for hep c these symptoms were almost continuous. Ondansetron 8mg ODT (orally disolving tablets) worked well and gaviscon, that I learned would stop my retching immediately. One morning I was standing at the counter trying to figure out how I was going to get down 20 grams of fat so I could take my pills and began to retch.
768044 tn?1294223436 ve tried Imitrex tablets, Zomig tablets and Maxalt ODT (orally disintegrating tablets). I will never take Imitrex again-50 mg gave me severe palpitations and chest pain; I thought I was going to die. Zomig and Maxalt both worked well when I took them (not together of course) but then they stopped working: it was almost like I developed a tolerance to them. I do remember the Maxalt ODT tasting weird and sometimes it would make my nausea worse.
Avatar f tn She can recommend a few medicines. She will probably start with zofran which didnt work with my first pregnancy ... but is a life saver right now in my 2nd trimester. I had hyperemesis so my situation was pretty extreme but see what she says. If you can try some of the natural things first I would do that. Honestly no matter what we say everyone's body reacts differently. None of the natural stuff worked for me. Not even gingerale. But it may for you. Good.luck.
Avatar f tn t feel like accessing my port, he just threw a presciption of ODT zofran at me and discharged me! I went to another hospital where they saved my life! I guess I had a line infection and a clot, so the surgeon was able to get my port out and clear the clot and saved my life! The first hospital treated me as if there was nothing wrong! Unfortunately the medical system is far from perfect and it can take nearly a lifetime for a proper diagnosis sometimes.
Avatar f tn It has gotten better but my doctor gave me some nausea pills (ondansetron odt 4mg tablet) and it has helped a lot.
Avatar f tn I am now 15 weeks and was taking progesterone from the time of ovulation but it was orally. I did notice that it made me alot sicker than I have been with any of my other pregnancies but when I came off of it around 12 weeks it has gotten alot better. Ask your dr if you can take zofran to help and ask about vitamin B6. They both helped me tons! Good luck with your little bean!!
Avatar f tn I was put on 50 mg of zoloft a month ago and have had nausea ever since. It seems like it's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I was prescribed Ondansetron ODT 4mg. It doesn't seem to help. Will the nausea go away?

14346590 tn?1451854557 So has anyone taken zofran while pregnant? I try to stay away from all medicine except my vitamins but the other night I ate something and I'm guessing my baby really didn't like it because I've been kind of sick since then but the other night the nausea was unbearable so I took one.
