Common Questions and Answers about Zofran nursing considerations

zofran

408496 tn?1269603350 I was just curious if anyone is or has tried to concieve while nursing. My DS is almost 6 months old and I have had AF twice since birth, but it is irregular (which is normal for me b/c AF was irregular prior to concieving baby number 1). I was just wondering if there are any tips besides the normal stuff for TTC - like any special considerations, is it harder/easier, etc. thanks!
Avatar f tn Im 8 weeks pregnant and can put up with the nausea, vomiting, constipation and sore breasts but, not this constant dizziness! It's constant, not all the time light and makes every activity extremely difficult. Im in nursing school and can't afford to be dizzy right now. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this annoying symptom go away and preferably without a med that will knock me out?
Avatar f tn I have been on Zofran for nausea and vomiting. I'm in my first trimester and I hope it is not harming me and the baby. I know the doctor said it's okay. I just rather hear it from a experience mommy too.
Avatar f tn If you are suffering from HG like me, I'm fourteen week and five days, so it is slowly subsiding. I have read a lot of bad and good things about Zofran I'm currently in Nursing School and if you are becoming dehydrated like me; than the benefit out weight the risk of the baby you should take it. I came up with that conclusion when I was six week, and I took it. If I'm dehydration, electrolyte imbalance i could die than it wouldn't matter if I took the medicine or not.
Avatar f tn I know it's the top choice of many mothers facing nausea but think about it. They use this drug for chemo and radiation patients. I'm a nursing major and just knowing what it does and the birth deformities it's linked to would deter any expectant mother. I recently discovered a more useful way of coping. It's called diclegis. You take two before bed and your fine for the rest of the day.
4193262 tn?1490182779 It is best that you discuss the results with your attending physician. Your medical history. symptoms and condition present are important considerations. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I bought my own vitamins! Two er visits! Zofran is helping me with the nausea! Ask your dr . about it! Also drink plenty of water and eat small amounts. Try to avoid becoming constipated or depending too much on the Zofran. I am 8 weeks in my third pregnancy! I am determined to stay relived and healthy! I know exactly how you feel!
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed that. I believe that and zofran are the two they give pregnant women. Its a lifesaver.

14346590 tn?1451854557 So has anyone taken zofran while pregnant? I try to stay away from all medicine except my vitamins but the other night I ate something and I'm guessing my baby really didn't like it because I've been kind of sick since then but the other night the nausea was unbearable so I took one.
Avatar f tn Any reviews on zofran ? Im 20 weeks and ive been taking it once a day almost my whole pregnancy to help me keep down food. But now im hearing bad things about it. I havent had an ultra sound yet so im worried about it?
Avatar f tn I'm now 12w3d and I've been having really bad morning sickness to the point I have to go to the hospital 3times a week just for fluids and I've been taking the prescription zofran since I was 9 weeks. I recently saw that zofran is being sued for causing birth defects.. I've asked my doctor about it and she just says that there is no evidence yet.. I'm trading the pill form and getting thru iv.. I'm a ftm and I just don't know what to do right now.
Avatar f tn How many mommies here had to take zofran? Is it really safe I am taking it now to help me on my sickness but worries still in my mind. Share your thought about this med.
Avatar f tn I have terrible morning sickness and I was given a prescription for ondansetron 4mg which is the generic version of zofran. I'm scared to take it because of the possible side effects and the warnings I've seen on TV. I don't want to take any risks when it comes to my baby. Any thoughts on this?
Avatar f tn Dmpnonna, I weighed 120 before pregnancy. Minus 40 pounds. I got down to 79 pounds. I went into preterm labor bc my body just simply could not support the weight of my baby. At 22 weeks my baby would not have survived. I was told by so many doctors "you have your baby now, he WILL die" zofran saved his life. If it wasn't for zofran I would weigh 107 now and I wouldn't still be carrying our sweet little boy at 30 weeks. Sometimes drugs are necessary.
Avatar f tn I've lost 7 pounds since I've been pregnant due to the morning sickness and appetite loss, so my doctor prescribed me Zofran but I really don't want to take it. I'm sure y'all seen the commercials and I looked it up and it does cause those things. What should I do?
11529448 tn?1419052525 So my doctor prescribed me some nausea medicine called zofran and I was watching a commercial on tv and it was talking about how babies are being born with birth defects after using the nausea medicine zofran. So should I stop taking it and find other ways to deal with the nausea ? or should I continue to use it if my doctor recommended it.
Avatar f tn My friend took it with her pregnancies and delivered healthy babies, but i know there are massive lawsuits against zofran. I would say consult with your Dr and approach with caution.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant almost 7 now and I have had the worse nausea of my life. Not much of throwing up just nausea. I was prescribed Zofran to help with that but I have found that a lot of women who have taken it have had their child born with deformities. Has anyone taken this medicine before???
Avatar f tn I was taking Zofran my first pregnancy from 4 wks right when I had found out to 6-7 months and my daughter was perfectly healthy. So far this pregnancy I have been on it since 7 wks and still taking it at 22 wks and my baby boy is growing big and healthy. It is bs that they called you, I would of went off.
