zofran nausea medicine

So I have hyperemesis and I have to keep nausea medicine in my system so I have to take 4mgs of dissolvable zofran every 4 hours. It so difficult because I have a son and the meds make me so extremely tired. Ive never felt so tired before.

Zofran is great for controling medicine induced nausea. But I have not seen it work well with other forms as it doesn't trigger the nausea center in the brain like phenergan. But it worked better than compizine for the chemi patients (but than again that would be medicine induced). My hospice patients liked it better though becuase it didn't cause the drowsiness. That is what I know.

Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant almost 7 now and I have had the worse nausea of my life. Not much of throwing up just nausea. I was prescribed Zofran to help with that but I have found that a lot of women who have taken it have had their child born with deformities. Has anyone taken this medicine before???

U should get your doctor to prescribe u some nausea meds nothing helped me til my ob put me on zofran and reglan I had to alternate them every 4hrs and even like that i lost about 13lbs because i couldn't keep anything down

zofran is safe :). there are 2 nausea medicines that are considered safe for pregnancy, and zofran sounds like the better choice for you (since phenergan makes you sleepy, and that's the other option, i think it would freak you out!). every medicine is going to carry warnings, and there will be people who SWEAR that this medicine caused this or that...but that's the internet for you. it is considered safe, and your OB only prescribed it because they felt it was safe....

I experienced constipation, and it honestly didn't do much for my nausea. So now I take both Raglan and Zofran for morning (all-day) sickness. A home remedy that I find useful is drinking ginger tea (ginger root peeled and sliced, with hot water. You can add sugar or honey for taste). Good luck!

I am 25 weeks along with my 5th. I have been sick from day 1 nausea vomiting the works. I also suffer from severe headaches due to intracranial hypertension. Well I stopped taking my medication for the IIH because there was no telling if it would cause birth defects. I also held out on taking meds for the nausea until about 3 weeks ago. I had the rx for Zofran but wasn't taking them, I took the meds for about 5 days out of the 3 weeks.

How do you deal with your nausea/vomiting. I have not been able to eat anything the last 2-3 days due to nausea. I have nothing left to throw up its all dry heaves. I'm trying to drink and eat but every time I do I throw it right back up.

t overdo. That can lead to nausea as well. if you do feel nauseous, take the Zofran right away. It should help fairly quickly. I think that sometimes people forget about taking the Riba with food or forget about the water and they get into a cycle of nausea. Your doc will refill the Zofran if you need more later. As far as butt head syndrome magnified with Incivek (your description made me smile), definitely go get your AD script. If it worked before, hopefully it will help again.

Has anyone else taken zofran while preg? I read that it was bad for baby one some sites and is a miracle drug on others. I'm just concerned and would never want to take anything that could harm my baby.

my doctor prescribed it to me... but she also gave me a second nausea medicine... but i decided i wasnt goinf to take the second one because a side effect was having the shakes permanately for the rest of my life... so it made me wonder about thr zofran...

So my doctor prescribed me some nausea medicine called zofran and I was watching a commercial on tv and it was talking about how babies are being born with birth defects after using the nausea medicine zofran. So should I stop taking it and find other ways to deal with the nausea ? or should I continue to use it if my doctor recommended it.

I still take it religiously. Every single day. I lost around 40 pounds in the first two trimesters even with taking it but it was the only possible way of getting food in front of my mouth let alone in my mouth. Now at 30 weeks I don't throw up a lot but my nausea is horrible so I need my zofran! I've taken well over 240 pills since day one of pregnancy and my baby boy is super healthy and strong!

I took zofran too and am 38 weeks and my baby is more than healthy. Everything we do can possibly have side effects. I'm just giing to stop drinking water too... If something is going to be wrong then it's going to be wrong that's all.

OMG zofran is the best medicine ever made! Im still taking it and im almost in my third trimester lol. Although it does cause some constipation but its better than throwing up constantly.
