I've been doing a lot of searching on the web about this drug and now I'm scared to death to take this drug!! My doctor keeps saying to take it if I'm sick/throwing up still and I've seen on other forums women who say they took it and there baby was fine but then on other websites u see all these lawsuits women have filled bc of the side affects and u see how its hasn't been approved for pregnant women!!!????
Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant almost 7 now and I have had the worse nausea of my life. Not much of throwing up just nausea. I was prescribed Zofran to help with that but I have found that a lot of women who have taken it have had their child born with deformities. Has anyone taken this medicine before???
I have terrible morning sickness and I was given a prescription for ondansetron 4mg which is the generic version of zofran. I'm scared to take it because of the possible side effects and the warnings I've seen on TV. I don't want to take any risks when it comes to my baby. Any thoughts on this?
Did any of you ladies take zofran for nausea... I did and just saw a commercial that it can cause many different birth defects...
Its so bad they prescribed me zofran. Ive been taking it ever since I entered my 2nd trimester.Ive been told there is lawsuits with this medicine as it causes birth defects. Any advice?
I am currently 26 weeks pregnant. I'm currently taking Zofran because I can't keep anything down as far as food. After reading a few post in this group. I hav heard about people using Zofran and there babies coming out with defects or women having miscarriages....
I'm 20 weeks and still haven't felt my baby move. Is that normal? And is my baby okay? I've had to take Zofran for neaseua the first trimester and now I'm hearing about the birth defects from it.
Make sure you drink lots of water. Lots and lots if water. If you have zofran, take it. If not, call your doctor and ask for some right away. Try to eat some soup. Rest. make sure you are staying hydrated!
Any reviews on zofran ? Im 20 weeks and ive been taking it once a day almost my whole pregnancy to help me keep down food. But now im hearing bad things about it. I havent had an ultra sound yet so im worried about it?
Im in a group on facebook coz my baby has a heart condition and a lot of the women on there have ongoing lawsuits as they believe zofran has caused their babys to have heart defects..never took it myself and no heart problems in either side of our families and my baby still had this happen to her..docs says its just unfortunately one of those things that happen...a lot in the group though truly believe its zofran that caused their babys condition though..
I started off being sick at 6 weeks, it wasnt good I ended up in hospital on a drip and had cyclizine and odansetron (zofran) ive been having just one antisickness a day now as 9 weeks on medication is a long time! However soon as I wake this week I retch and then throw up breakfast, has anyone else experienced this?
Has anyone took this medication?? Been feeling nauseated for abt 2wks and my doc prescribed me this today but I'm really skeptical abt this. He tried prescribing me Zofran and I turned it down immediately.
I took It my whole first and second trimester. It was prescribed to me by my doctor. Plus anytime I had to go to er due to hyperemesis They gave me It through iv. I took It alot. I'm really worried now after seeing those ads about my baby.. She seems to be strong and healthy. I Just hope That She's born healthy and That The zofran didn't affect her in any way. I'm 30 weeks So 10 weeks till I find out...
People will agree some will not. Everyones body is different but I honestly wouldn't recommend taking it I got prescribed zofran 3x and refused to take it because of the commercials and lawsuits. I'm sure if you've stopped taking it your baby is fine.
People will also disagree BUT not all doctors have your best interest in mind yes it's their job but that doesn't mean they actually give a sh*t! They actually make a profit of off prescribing medicines.
I wouldn't take zofran since there have been recent links to birth defects.
i know a lot of people who've had healthy babies while taking it but Zofran is now having lawsuits come out against them for causing birth defects! I'm sorry your puking :( I have the worst nausea in the world and feel like I'm going to puke every five minutes but nothing wants to come up.
Make sure to stay hydrated and try keeping crackers with you middle one or two before getting up and get up slow.
Be careful with zofran. I've seen t.v. commercials recently for lawsuits in regards to taking it for nausea and baby having birth defects. That seems scary, but I can only imagine how your feeling. Hang in there. Its really nice being able to talk to other pregnant woman. This is my bf's first and he is like clueless. Keep in touch.
I've been on Seasonique for about 2 years now, and I've been fine up until this summer when I started having severe pressure in my upper abdomen right under my ribcage. At first, it didn't matter WHAT I ate. That was in July. I JUST got diagnosed with GERD a couple weeks ago after my second upper endoscopy. It's been a HECK of a year...well, my symptoms are AWFUL. Thanksgiving, I had plain stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie.
Zofran is the one that works the best for morning sickness. In my opinion you won't find anything better and it's safe to use in pregnancy.
I have seen on the news lately about some lawsuits about zofran. Apparently there has been a connection with birth defects and the use of that medication. I am 9 weeks and so nauseous but i refuse to take it. My doc told to me take 1 unisom and 50 mg vitamin B6 at night to help with it and it has helped some. I can actually eat now. I would just talk to your doctor and see what othe options he can suggest so you can have some relief. Good luck!
