ironic that under your question the Zofran lawsuit ad is there... I personally wouldn't take it because of the birth defect thing. but five also only get nauseous & don't puke.
I am so sick of seeing the zofran lawsuit commercials!! As if u don't have enough to worry about when ur pregnant now ever day u have to see commercials about how ur baby might have a birth defect if u took zofran!! Ugh...
It is perfectly fine to take while pregnant I took it threw out my first pregnancy and I'm currently taking it now threw my second pregnancy :)
The zofran lawsuit is not backed by the FDA. My doctor is not worried and it's been used in pregnancies for years. If you are worried, you can call your local pregnancy hotline. Zofran is the only thing keeping me eating and drinking while pregnant. I ended up in the ER without it. LOVE IT!
I have terrible morning sickness and I was given a prescription for ondansetron 4mg which is the generic version of zofran. I'm scared to take it because of the possible side effects and the warnings I've seen on TV. I don't want to take any risks when it comes to my baby. Any thoughts on this?
s already bad enough that they have those Zofran commercials about birth defects. Someone went as far as to call my cell phone on Friday about a Zofran lawsuit! I flipped my lid, how dare they call me for that how do they even know what medications have been prescribed to me?? All tests and scans show that my baby is healthy but they really upset me.
I wouldn't recommend taking Zofran b/c they have a lawsuit on it. Its causing birth defect . This is my first pregnancy && I'm 3 1/2 months . I have had nausea bad to where I couldn't hold nothing down. Water , food , juice. What I had to do was eat salty foods , drink water . get up off things slowly. But now mines comes less than before.
Just saw a class action suit on tv against Zofran during pregnancy saying of your baby is or was born with a heart defect or birth defect to call them..I was prescriped yesterday for this medicine and took one today. Has anyone else taken them?
Ok im sure all of us have heard by now about the risks of taking zofran while pregnant and how their is a large lawsuit being formed from women who took zofran and their child was born with cleft pallet or lip. I am now 27 weeks and 4 days. I remembered that when i got in a car accident back in November i was perscribed perkaset for pain, and ondansentron (zofran) for nausea from taking the perks. At that time i was either 12 or 13 weeks.
I been really sick my first couple of mouths and my doctor had offered me the zofran medicine which I been taking for a while..I read up on the medicine and I saw so many bad comment about it causing birth defects to the baby my doctor or no one didn't tell me about this..what should I do?
I've lost 7 pounds since I've been pregnant due to the morning sickness and appetite loss, so my doctor prescribed me Zofran but I really don't want to take it. I'm sure y'all seen the commercials and I looked it up and it does cause those things. What should I do?
Ondansetron is Zofran hun. Its just the generic name for zofran. Even though theres a lawsuit, id say its more of a money maker. I took it both pregnancies and my babies came out fine. Youve got to look at whether the benefits outweigh the risk with ANY medication. If youre miserable and need to eat for baby, take it. My advice is try to only take it when u really need it, not on a regular basis. Stop as soon as symptoms ease up. Lots of water too.
I went through the exact same thing, they finally had to put me on a zofran pump so that I could tolerate something on my stomach again. If you've tried everything else, that might be an option to look into. I was at the point where I couldn't even handle water on my stomach and kept ending up in the hospital for dehydration and that pump is the only thing that finally helped me.
Don't take Zofran ^ huge lawsuit against them and not approved by FDA. Try Prego pops! Lollipops for morning sickness! Sold at babies r us!
Hi ladies. Im 8 weeks and have been suffering from nausea and vomiting since week 6 and I've been prescribed Zofran. Now with all these birth defect commercials my boyfriend does NOT want me to take it but im nauseous almost all day. His gma took Zofran and that didnt go well. Wat to do bc im miserable!!!! hey guys, I was prescribed with Hypermesis a few weeks back.. I've been in and out of the hospital. Lost 15 pounds. Was throwing up about 10 times a day. Went to the hospital and they put Zofran in my IV, and they also prescribed it for me to take when I got home. I've been taking it for the past week.
When I questioned my doctor about it, he said he knew about the risks/rumors but I should be fine, and he insisted.
So I just seen a commercial for a lawsuit out on zofran!! It's causing birth defects in the heart and cleft palate. I took this for the first five months of my pregnancy and I'm worried. I just want to warn anyone in case they haven't seen the commercial!
Hey ladies how many of you have taken Zofran during the first trimester? I took it twice to ease my nausea but i just read online that it can have horrible side effects on the baby so now I'm kind of panicking.. lol darn you Google.. what are your experiences?
I was sick for my first 5 months of pregnancy, threw up all hours of the day and night. Was prescribed Zofran but after finding out they weren't FDA approved and had a lawsuit against them I refused to even make it an option. I knew I wasn't going to take any meds nor something crazy. Prego pops helped me some days. And ginger tea but other than that I just stuck through it and suffered!

Hi ladies, I just heard on the news yesterday that they are stopping Zofran for pregnant women because it causes cleft palates, heart murmurs, still borns and more. Zofran isn't suppose to be used for pregnant women but for cancer patients. It was never meant to be consumed by a pregnant woman but the pharmaceutical company paid off a lot of doctors to give it to pregnant women.
So I went to the doctor today for my 16 week check up and baby is doing great! However I saw the nurse practioner who I've had problems with in the past... At 12 weeks she said I was overreacting to my morning sickness and all she could do was prescribe zofran and if I declined then I can't complain... Well today we noticed I've lost over 15 lbs since week 8 and she said that "since I started at such a high weight I was fine where as the average girl would be an issue.
I had morning sickness for the first 4 months, more like all day sickness. I love pizza and the tomato sauce would constantly get me sick. Wasn't able to eat till about 4 pm during the days and that was after forcing something down my throat. I'd throw up before bed in the middle of the night. I had 3 doctors recommend Zofran, which I refused to take any medicine that has a lawsuit against them and wasn't FDA approved seemed like too much of a high risk!
I really wouldn't take Zofran, there's a lawsuit against them and has been proven that it is not FDA approved. I had morning sickness up to 20 weeks and I honestly just put up with it, of course it was hard but many women from other countries and centuries have done it.

Try eating very plain things peanut butter and toast, plain oatmeal, even orange juice to get vitamin c in you. I know it's difficult but don't goto drugs tons of mothers handle it naturally. One thing that really helped me was Prego pops nausea lollipops for pregnant women!
