zofran in pediatrics

Hoping someone knows a little about this and maybe shed some light. I am a medic in the military and EMT and I have never heard unequal pupils being normal. But again, there are no other symptoms that I have noticed and I am not a doctor of pediatrics.

He is 4 years old and the dent has not gone away. It’s noticeable at the right angle and in the sunlight. His pediatrician says nothing about it. He’s a healthy boy with no issues medically. Just concerned the dent won’t ever go away and what should I do?

Imaging modalities such as CTscan or MRI will help rule out pathology or secondary headaches. Morphine is usually excreted into human milk in trace amounts and adverse effects in the nursing infant are unlikely. Aside from medications, another option is complementary and alternative medicine including biofeedback techniques.

My 6 year old daughter' dentist told me she has hpv in her mouth that will require surgery. How would a child get hpv? How common is it in children?

Well after suffering through 2 weeks of nausea 24 hours a day I finally gave in and called the doctor for some kind of nausea medicine. My morning sickness is so bad I can hardly keep anything down and I had to call in for work last night. I didnt want to take a bunch of pills through my pregnancy but I can't take it anymore!

My doctor perscibed it to me for nausea. But then i got freaked out about a commercial i saw in tv about zofran causing birth defects.

I have been in the hospital the past two days with keytones in my urine, meaning I havnt been eating, which I have been eating but I got very sick the other night and couldnt keep anything down. So when I got to the hospital my doctors prescribed me zofran, and I have heard about the recent studies shown and so I asked them and they told me it was okay to take as long as your out of your first trimester.

with pain meds, they usually give promethazine, which is what i take. so in answer to your question, no. i have not taken zofran to the best of my knoweldge.

docs says its just unfortunately one of those things that happen...a lot in the group though truly believe its zofran that caused their babys condition though..i dont know maybe they are looking for something to blame for their babys problems which is understandable but i dont know why doctors would still be prescibing this to pregnant women if they think it can cause birth defects...

Has anyone taken Zofran and what are some of your side effects? My morning sickness has been horrible...the worst ever. I am usually in bed all day and feeling like I can't do anything. My doctor initially prescribed Diclegis, but it doesn't help me. It made me sleep all day, causing me to skip meals and drinks. It also have me bad headaches. So I asked my DR to please let me try something else. At this point, I'm in tears because I can't keep anything down. Dr calls in Zofran.

Also the person who commented on the increase of cleft palates after being treated with zofran, studies have showed an increase in cleft palates in women who have taken zofran AND women who took none but had HG. This shows more that the chances of cleft palate is due to a diet deficiency rather than the drug.

I keep seeing this ad on tv about zofran causing birth defects and other serious problems. Im freaking out because i was prescribed zofran in my first trimester!!!!! Any one else seen this ad and or taking zofran?!

Saw doc today, got script for zofran but forgot to ask how to use it. Can someone tell me when you are supposed to take it? Bottle says 3 times a day as needed but can I just take one now and then and how long does it take to work? 4mg. Thanks.

I am 35+5 and I took zofran at the beginning of my pregnancy. I have heard awful things about birth defects recently and now I am worried. Are there any mommies out there that have had any positive or negative experiences with zofran?

Actually there isn't anything wrong with taking zofran... I'm actually on a zofran pump that administer the med to me continuously all day to help with my morning sickness... I'm 20 wks and my baby is doing just fine..

I was also alot sicker then you. Was in the hospital and had a pick line put in so I could eat. Any way, if you think you can find away to go with out the meds do it. That's always the best way. But if you need them then take them.

My dr. Said a recent study came out not to use Zofran so she prescribed phenigren. My Co worker just had a baby in May and she took Zofran she had a healthy 9 lb girl! There is also a vitamin b6 and unisom (specific ingredient) combo you can take for nausea. I agree with the other ladies. Dehydration and malnutrition are not worth not taking the medicine. I was sick to week 20 and lost 12 lbs even on the medicine! I can only imagine if I didn't take it.

I tried to take the pills but I was way to sick for that! So I have been on the Zofran pump (pumps Zofran into my stomach 24 hours a day) for the last 3 months. It's been "Heaven sent" for me! I lost 28 pounds in my first trimester and was unable to eat or drink anything for 11 weeks! Now because of the pump, I can eat anything and have gained 3 of those pounds back!

Ive been taking zofran on and off my entire pregnancy. Currently 33 wks With a very healthy baby. There are birth defects that can be cause but they are very few and far btwn.

Oh im sry hun I was able to keep the others down after I got out of hospital adter having iv zofran. It may seem extreme but won't hurt to ask and you sound like a really severe case in fact I've never talked to someone who was worse than it than myself but im pretty sure you are worse than I was and I was really bad :-( ask you doctor about a pic line for iv zofran at home.
