Yes I was hospitalized at 5 or 6 weeks and I have been taking zofran ever since. Currently 14 weeks.

Bottles can interfere with breast feeding. I'm due ina few weeks and I'm already stressing about breast feeding in public. Sounds like you are discrete though. I don't think there's much you can do unless you are really worried and do use a bottle.

As long as your not making a big deal about it and not making a scene because your breast feeding in public then go on and do it! But the other day I was at the mall with my mother in law and sister in law and we were walking around this store. Everything fine were talking looking at clothes and there is a lady breast feeding. I then did a combination of putting him to the breast at every feeding, then feeding him a bottle of formula while I pumped. I kept this up until 6 weeks, then he just began refusing to eat from the breast...I think it's because he got so tired of me continually trying to latch him on properly that he got too frustrated and would just scream & cry. I then strictly pumped and supplemented with formula until 10 weeks, when I couldn't keep it up anymore do to my schedule.

My first was harder than this one and required at home IV fluids and a feeding tube. So far with this one I have been on IV fluids since 7 wks and trying to avoid the feeding tube. I was just wondering if anyone else has or had HG and have any tricks I haven't tried.

Breast feeding is better both for you and the baby. Also formula is expensive and babies from my personal experiences tend to be crankier and cry more. Everyone has their own perferences. Try it out and if it dont work for you then it didnt work.

Okay - Who is breast feeding and who is bottle feeding? I think I am going to breast feed for a few months (have to go back to work after 8 weeks) and then I might pump for 1 month at work, then gradually make the switch to formula. I breast fed, and really had no choice but to do it in public. It was either that or never leave the house. If there was a nursing room or a mothers room available, that's what I did, but otherwise..you can't ignore a screaming hungry baby. I was discreet about it though. Ya know, lots of women become nervous about breast feeding. In truth, babies come out instinctively knowing what to do. They are ready to go. It's a pretty natural process. I choose to breast feed because that is what is best for baby, it is a wonderful bonding experience, and it is free!

Have any of you mommies feed your babies both breast milk & formula at the same time ? How did it work for you ?

I was once scalded for feeding my baby at the table in a restaurant, told I should be feeding her in the toilets. I responded that if my feeding my child offended her, she was welcome to take her meal and sit on the toilet to eat it but that my daughter and I were perfectly comfortable eating where we were.

Can you switch on and off with breast feeding? Like if someone was watching him could they feed him formula and I feed him breast milk?

I think it possibly the breast feeding, and hormonal, next time you go ask the doctor if its still okay. and for advice .I am sure it will ease off as she gets older.

Ok so a friend of mine basically started a debate on Facebook bout breast feeding in public and in front of your other children! Obviously everyone has there own opinions bout it and mine is as long as you do it in a modest manor in public there is nothing wrong with it! And as far as around your others children I did that without even thinking bout it and it became a part of our everyday life and no more thought anymore bout it mommy was feeding the baby that was it!

Ok I have a 3 year old. I tried breast Feeding her but she never could latch on so I pumped it. I'll he 30 weeks pregnant tuesday. I Def want to keep breast Feeding as I feel it's the best thing ever. My big question is how do you know if the baby is getting enough? And someone said you change breast like they will eat from one breast for so long then the other. Also if I get the freezer bags to freeze my milk because I tend to carry a lot of milk.
