I use to be the same way. I drink ginger ale . Also my ob prescribed a med called Zofran . It really helps. Mk sure u drink plenty fluids water or Gatorade So u DNT become dehydrated..

I did and i ate crackers in morning and had peppermints it worked and i heard ginger works and someone posted on here about bands.

I'm experiencing extreme nausea am vomiting... I am 7 weeks...my doctor prescribed me zofran...I am scared to take it because I've seen a commercial about it..I took half a tab today. And I threw that up.

Same here... It works great for me. I took it for about 4 days and then the constipation kicked in. Ouch, horrible. Now I need to do remedies for constipation problems.

I asked my doctor about the commercials she said its just some attorney that decided zofran was bad and not to worry so im still taking it almost daily.

I wouldn't recommend taking Zofran b/c they have a lawsuit on it. Its causing birth defect . This is my first pregnancy && I'm 3 1/2 months . I have had nausea bad to where I couldn't hold nothing down. Water , food , juice. What I had to do was eat salty foods , drink water . get up off things slowly. But now mines comes less than before.

I took 8 mg of Zofran every 8 hours. I did not wait to get nauseated or start vomiting (although when I started taking it I was nauseated, vomiting, and bloated. Once I got some on board, then I was able to prevent the nausea and vomiting by taking it every 8 hours. I don't see (in this blurb) how long it takes to work, but I don't think it takes long. I think it works pretty fast. It might take a couple of doses before it reaches full effect because you are already nauseated.

It didn't do anything for me either. Some people just react differently to stuff than others. Maybe ask for Phenergan? It's another medicine that does the exact same thing as Zofran, and it may work better for you.

I was prescribed Promethazine (generic for Phenergan) & it helped me a lot.. the only downside, at least for me, was it made me extremely sleepy!

It is a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist used mainly as an antiemetic (to treat nausea and vomiting), often following chemotherapy. Ondansetron reduces the activity of the vagus nerve, which deactivates the vomiting center in the medulla oblongata, and also blocks serotonin receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone.

Oh and yes. It can cause belly aches and in some nausea. Go figure. If she isn't taking it to conteract another medication. I would ask to switch to phenergan (promathiazine).

Zofran doesnt work for me. I have to take phynagram it makes me very sleepy but at least it works im 19w 4d and still really sick so I have to take them all the time.

I experienced constipation, and it honestly didn't do much for my nausea. So now I take both Raglan and Zofran for morning (all-day) sickness. A home remedy that I find useful is drinking ginger tea (ginger root peeled and sliced, with hot water. You can add sugar or honey for taste). Good luck!

I went to the er and got ondansetron (generic for zofran) but the doc prescribed it bc I literally kept nothing but one icee a day down. I got a script for 12 and thats it. All I know is they do not prescribe it to one indivodual in large quantities and that bc it can affect and stay in your blood for so long they have to monitor how much an individual gets.

Now two and smart as a whip. Once again have the severe sickness and zofran is a life saver. Only thing that works.

I was given Zofran in my first tri after going to the hospital dehydrated due to severe nausea. It worked really well for me, it made me very loopy an sleepy and can cause a headache. But taking it was sometimes the only way I was able to eat a meal during my first trimester.

im in the same boat throwing up everyday and I cant hardly eat anything it ***** the doctor gave me zofran today hope it works they also gave Me promethazine in a pill form to take with the zofran because it wasn't working to good alone I was still throwing up

I think she wants me to only take it when I need it and stick to maxalon. How often do you need to take it ?

ve tried everything else and nothing works. But I know my doctor like personally and she assured me that it was safe and if it were her she would take it. I've lost about 30 pounds and only gained back 7 so she's worried about my weight. And I've lost it because of nausea. So how many Andre still taking it?

I love my Zofran but its prescription. Some other prescriptions are phenergen (which comes orally and as a suppository) Diclegis is a newer one to the US bit many insurances don't like to cover it.
