zofran for pregnancy

So, we just found out that I'm a few weeks pregnant and I have been getting incredibly nauseous when I eat. This is ky 3rd pregnancy and for the first 2 I had "morning sickness." But it's almost hard to eat knowing I'm just gonna get sick. :( this didn't happen last pregnancies. Also, I all of a sudden get these headaches/migraines. I've gotten some tylenol but are there any home remedies to get rid of headaches and migraines quickly?

Mint tea also helps a ton or even just sucking on a peppermint. That helped me a lot. I was also prescribed zofran from my doctor. It tastes awful but it helps.

I was recently sent to the ER by my ob for rehydration since I wasn't able to keep ANYTHING down for the past week. I was prescribed zofran but it honestly doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm 9wks. My prev pregnancy I had bad nausea but not nearly this bad vomitting. Anyone experiencing the same???

I would highly recommend Zofran. It is used for nausea and it works WONDERS! They have other drugs likes Phenergan and Compozine, but the side effects are long and AWFUL (I know because I have taken both). I just looked at the med fact on Zofran and while it doesn't say much about breastfeeding while taking Zofran, there aren't any known problems with taking it during pregnancy.

t really had significant relief. I heard about zofran but it has some slight risks for the baby and if you miss a dose you get really sick. Can someone clarify this for me?

Case reports have described two women who have received ondansetron during pregnancy for life-threatening hyperemesis gravidarum. No abnormalities were noted in the offspring of these two women. Ondansetron is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.

Is zofran safe to rake during pregnancy? I've read some stories and some say it's not and can cause heart defects is this true?

It is perfectly fine to take while pregnant I took it threw out my first pregnancy and I'm currently taking it now threw my second pregnancy :)

This is my second pregnancy , my first was so awful I wasn't keeping anything down not even meds and I lost 20lbs the first trimester from my MS. I'm hoping this one goes smoothly . I'm only 4 weeks along but I'm. Starting to get nasousous and feeling like I'm about to throw up at all times so my dr . Put me on Zofran (which she did the first pregnancy put I couldn't keep it down so I barely took it) did you guys ever take it ? Does it really work .

I was 150 before pregnancy got down to 123..Zofran worked great I just took something for constipation and then I was fine...without it I was miserable..I'm now 36 weeks and I weigh 148 baby is over 5 pounds.. don't scare this mom with that non sense about that lawsuit.. I believe God takes care of his people and that's that..

I loved on it for my first pregnancy and my son was born with an enlarged kidney. Luckily it doesnt seem to effect him now but whose to say later in life.

zofran was a life saver for me I went from 150 to 123 in no time from all the vomiting i couldn't even drink water I was miserable..

Oh im sry hun I was able to keep the others down after I got out of hospital adter having iv zofran. It may seem extreme but won't hurt to ask and you sound like a really severe case in fact I've never talked to someone who was worse than it than myself but im pretty sure you are worse than I was and I was really bad :-( ask you doctor about a pic line for iv zofran at home.

I took it at the beginning of my pregnancy for morning sickness... It worked wonders ! The doctor wouldn't give you something that would hurt your baby.

Anyone else try any medication for morning sickness? What worked for you, and how long did it take for it to start working for you? Thank you so much!

I hate zofran, it doesn't work for me but it may for others but yes I agree don't lbeleive everything on tv.

Hey I just watched a commercial saying zofran can cause a clef pallet.

So I've been seeing all this negative stuff about zofran causing all kinds of birth defects to unborn babies. I'm 30 weeks pregnant & I've been taking zofran my entire pregnancy, so it's worrying me. Has anyone else taken zofran? What are your opinions on it?

I took zofran my entire first pregnancy because I was horribly sick an the first 3 months I couldn't even get out of bed let alone eat!

I was on zofran and in the hospital for 90% of my first pregnancy and had a healthy baby girl. Now two and smart as a whip. Once again have the severe sickness and zofran is a life saver. Only thing that works.

I have been on reglan for awhile now and I love it. I tried zofran and it didn't work for me, it just made me constipated. Reglan is perfectly safe to take. I haven't had any side effects.

in pregnancy as no pregnant women wants to put herself forward for testing but zofran has been used on millions of women with severe HG with very little effects. I am in UK and unfortunately our options for HG treatment is more limited than in Canada/US. Also the person who commented on the increase of cleft palates after being treated with zofran, studies have showed an increase in cleft palates in women who have taken zofran AND women who took none but had HG.

m on it again with this pregnancy. I suffered through my first pregnancy because there was no Zofran yet. My 2nd they had me on Vitamin B6 and Unisom at bedtime, was on it the entire pregnancy as I have severe hypermesis. With the last baby I was on Zofran and Reglan the entire pregnancy and I've been on Zofran with this one since I found out at 3 1/2 weeks.

Zofran worked for my first pregnancy but it did not for this one. This one is twins though so maybe that's why. It does constipate you almost immediately though!

I tried to take the pills but I was way to sick for that! So I have been on the Zofran pump (pumps Zofran into my stomach 24 hours a day) for the last 3 months. It's been "Heaven sent" for me! I lost 28 pounds in my first trimester and was unable to eat or drink anything for 11 weeks! Now because of the pump, I can eat anything and have gained 3 of those pounds back!
