Dmpnonna, I weighed 120 before pregnancy. Minus 40 pounds. I got down to 79 pounds. I went into preterm labor bc my body just simply could not support the weight of my baby. At 22 weeks my baby would not have survived. I was told by so many doctors "you have your baby now, he WILL die" zofran saved his life. If it wasn't for zofran I would weigh 107 now and I wouldn't still be carrying our sweet little boy at 30 weeks. Sometimes drugs are necessary.
During my carbo/taxotere treatments I got Zofran and decadron IV, more decadron and Emend in pill form for three days, and Zofran in pill form for as long as I needed it. I still suffered lots and lots of nausea.
Now during my carbo/gemzar treatments I get Aloxi and decadron IV, take Zofran (8 mg) and Promethazine (Phenergan) for four days after each tx. This combo seems to work for me.
I was recently sent to the ER by my ob for rehydration since I wasn't able to keep ANYTHING down for the past week. I was prescribed zofran but it honestly doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm 9wks. My prev pregnancy I had bad nausea but not nearly this bad vomitting. Anyone experiencing the same???
I would suggest seeing a neurologist, if you haven't yet. It sounds more neurological than anything else. If you put the symptoms together the only thing that doesn't necessarily fit is the pain in your back, which could just be an underlying symptoms from your body's reaction to your other complaints. Or I would go see an ophthalmologist not an optometrist.....you could have an eye disorder. And if the zofran isn't working for the nausea I'd ask for phengren.
I have been clean a long time, however, I have several medical issues where I have had to use narcotics for pain relief. I took them as prescribed, however, several times, I was on them long enough to cause physical dependance. Then, when the pain is manageable, the usual drill. Taper down, then stopping the medication. There's always some w/d symptoms when stopping. I actually stumbled onto Zofran's help with w/d by accident. I was prescribed it for migraine induced nausea.
ve tried a few different types of medication but they stopped worrying after a couple of days, including Zofran. Today I purchased Seabands and I don't feel the extreme nausea.
I have been using phenergan/promethazine it's an antihistamine for nausea and itching, it made me sleepy until I got used to it. It works well for me on the nausea and I guess the itching as well as I haven't had to much of a problem with that yet.
Having sever all day sickness and only thing working is zofran and just bought some things called preggie pops they seem to help , but looking for other alternatives ( can't stand the ginger taste/smell)) HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!
